    that sounds like an eating disorder if all you can think about when taking one bit of a donut is how to burn it off. your a personal trainer, you should know enough that eating that much won't throw your body off, and it'll probably burn those calories all on its own.

      Burger is basically just meat with flour and vegetable. You burn it in same rate as other "healthy" foods, just don't eat 3 of them. That's the whole magic behind it.

    • @Darkmorningsun
      @Darkmorningsun 7 년 전 +41

      it's not a disorder. it is absolutely normal for people who are knowledgeable about fitness. body builders in preparation for competition don't add or eat any foods with sodium because 1 meal can fuck up how the muscle looks.

      Actually, I was cringing watching it, and I'm fat! Almost none of that can I eat. I will get sick as a dog. And I LOVE Ice Cream, but, almost never get it because I'm also (thank my stupid health issues and ethnicity) lactose intolerant. So, "Give in to temptation and suffer? Or 'not today, satan!'?"

      I seldom get stopped up. Maybe every 4 or 5 years. But eat dairy? The GAS! The AGONY! The...yeah. I'm mostly veg, so, no constipation issues. Can't smell grease or a fast food place without gagging...and don't get catsup near me, I WILL hurl. (childhood incident)--as well as most other condiments.

    • @itsalwayshalloweenexceptwh5118
      @itsalwayshalloweenexceptwh5118 7 년 전

      shenandoahliberty "I'm mostly veg, so, no constipation issues. Can't smell grease or a fast food place without gagging."
      Yep, same on all accounts.
      I have wooden floors and (1920's house) and the cooking odours from the downstairs neighbours waft up. It's horrid 100% of the time, you can tell they cook greasy half way premade stuff. They cook with little packages of powder (I recognise the smell).
      I don't hate ketchup though.
      One thing that will make me hurl is porridge with raisins (also childhood incident) and mashed potatoes with sauerkraut and pineapple.
      Pretty sure my mother was channeling the 70's when she made that.
      I gagged as soon as I opened the door and smelled it.
      And I am not a picky eater at all provided it isn't junk.

    Nothing wrong with fitness at all but these people must have a mental issue if they get bent out of shape because of one donut. Personally anyone who would thinks a salad is tastier than a burger has a few wires connected wrong. Is it healthier yes, but your eating a bowl of lawn clippings essentially haha.

    • @101chickendance
      @101chickendance 7 년 전 +33

      But if you are trying lose weight and you are calorie counting, a donut is a lot of calories (fat calories) with little nutrition. These people probably calorie count and maintain a high nutrition. A donut, let alone a glazed and chocolate covered donut, is one of the worse things you can eat while maintaining a strict dietary plan. If you eat a salad, have some lean meat with it and non cream dressing.

    • @SllLVIIUS
      @SllLVIIUS 7 년 전 +14

      that is were you're wrong... I think those foods arent really beneficial. when you have a healthy mindset you wouldn't be thinking of "donuts". Although they taste good and subsequently are tasty that doesn't impose the fact that you should be eating it. And when you eat healthy everything taste 10x greasier/sweeter/saltier...etc. Thats why i haven't eaten burgers or any meat as of a year or more. i have a distaste for it. But thats me personally :)

    • @princesspout89
      @princesspout89 7 년 전 +12

      Jimmy M They didn't look bent out of shape to me.. the thing is, when you change your diet to eating healthier things, every time you eat these kinds of foods, no matter how little, your body reacts differently. I eat pretty healthy (not a trainer) and I have this weird kind of visceral reaction to these kinds of foods because I KNOW that even if I take just a few bites, I'll be feeling like absolute crap later on (depending on the food, of course... the French fries would for sure make my stomach hurt later). So it's not really about them being snooty or having some kind of mental illness (really?).. their bodies work differently than yours because they out in the effort to eat as cleanly as possible for the sake of their jobs.

Your body will actually heat up and burn the extra calories via Thermogenesis. Assuming you don't continue to eat junk food day after day, you will simply maintain your weight.

    Personal trainers especially should know that a few cheat items or meals won’t ruin progress. It’s all about moderation and enjoying food rather then how much exercise you would have to do to burn it off. Some of the things said in this video focus on making yourself feel bad for eating this food, it’s nothing to feel bad about, enjoy what you eat and eat what makes you happy.

    These “personal trainers” don’t really look like they’re in prime shape. Even if they were, I’d expect people that train and advise others in exercise and nutrition to be more knowledgeable in their fields. For example, it’s not about the quality of the foods you eat, it’s about the quantity. As long as you’re in a caloric deficit, you’re going to lose weight, simple as that. It’s completely fine to have stuff like this IN MODERATION and as long as you hit your target calories. Overall, I think they’re highly exaggerating and don’t have the greatest mindset when it comes to food.

    • @crockpot4844
      @crockpot4844 3 년 전 +2

      @The Grammar Nazi True, but when overall when it comes to body fat percentage, quantity is more important. Unfortunately, you're still going to get fat eating 10,000 calories of fruit. You're NOT going to get fat eating just 1,000 calories of Mcdonalds every day. Calories in, calories out. Sure the fruit is healthier and better for you, but in terms of body fat, quantity is more important.

    • @jacobmarsh4438
      @jacobmarsh4438 3 년 전

      @The Grammar Nazi how on earth is there such thing as an "empty calorie" every calorie is exactly the same regardless of where it comes from. A calorie from mcdonalds does exactly the same as a calorie from broccoli it's a unit of energy. The mcdonalds energy is no different to the broccoli energy.

    • @jacobmarsh4438
      @jacobmarsh4438 3 년 전

      @The Grammar Nazi someones been listening to much to fitness influencers. Like I said every calorie is the same. It's a unit of energy. A gram of fat has 9 calories. Protein and carbohydrates each have 4 calories per gram. Please explain to me again how these units of energy change from different kinds of foods. A gram of fat is the same whether you get it from an organic avocado or a KFC zinger box. That gram of fat still has 9 calories.
      There is no such thing as an empty calorie as a calorie is just a unit to measure energy. Granted some food have more vitamins and minerals and are perceived "healthier" but this wasnt my argument. I clearly stated that you are wrong about "empty" calories.
      Please dont question my knowledge on nutrition or fitness when you come up with stupid terms that mean absolutely nothing. If a ferrari and a ford fiesta were both travelling 70mph it would take the same amount of time to get somewhere.

    • @jacobmarsh4438
      @jacobmarsh4438 3 년 전

      @The Grammar Nazi again you are arguing a point which I have not said anything about. Every calorie is exactly the same. Therefore there is no such thing as an empty calorie because they all give you the same amount of energy. Comparing a calorie to cars fuel is actually a really good reference because they both do the same thing. Petrol makes a car go, calories make us go, regardless of where we get them from. Is a ton of bricks or a ton of feathers heavier? A ton is another unit of measurement the same as the word calorie. You cant have a word (calorie) as a unit of measurement (energy expenditure) and then have different values of that unit of measurement depending what has given you that unit of measurement. I have not once argued that food is better for you, and I have not once argued that you could live on McDonalds and have a healthy lifestyle. All I have said which I am correct about is that a calorie is a calorie. No calorie is different from the other. They all give you the same amount of energy and all have the same input towards fat loss/ fat gain. 400 calories of chicken and broccoli takes the same amount of exercise to burn as 400 calories of big mac and chips. Please do some research before you reply. Dont just spout horseshit about vitamins and minerals because they dont actually come into the argument I am putting forward. A calorie is a calorie, therefore there cant be such thing as an empty one as they give you the same amount of energy wherever you get them from.

    A good tip: before I eat any junk food, I eat a lot of protein before hand.
    If you go into your cheat meal starving, you’re in trouble.
    What makes these foods bad is how easy they are to overeat. They aren’t very calorie dense.
    But honestly, you can still have an extremely healthy diet with these foods, as long as you are aware that they are a treat, not to satisfy hunger.
    At the end of the day for the past month, I have eaten two Oreos after eating chicken, greek yogurt, beef, or other protein sources throughout the day. And I have lost 15 pounds

      The problem is that they are very calorie dense, just not spatially dense. I once ate an entire box of donuts yet my stomach didn't feel full. Never again tho
