Also Tom's first starting season he went 10-2 and beat Alabama in the bowl game.
Brady's first (and only full-time) starting season at Michigan was his Junior year. They failed to make the big 4 bowls (Sugar, Rose, Fiesta, Orange). Brady went to the Orange bowl in his senior year.
Brady as a senior split time with freshman QB Henson. While Brady was the starter initially (due to seniority) Henson actually took the starting role by the Mich St. game, after which Brady won it back.
@@jyashin inaccurate drivel. Drew Henson never started a game while Brady was there..not a single one. The only games where he played more than Brady was at Syracuse and at MSU...Brady threw 75 to 80% of the passes.

Brady really started most of his time as an upperclassroom at Michigan. His Michigan coaches was mesmerized at Drew Henson's practice player potential with his speed and arm strength. They tried him as a starter on several occasions when Brady was on the team but he never really panned out until Brady left.

I'm a longtime Syracuse fan, and watched that 1998 Cuse/Michigan game live. Brady was the starter, not a backup. He didn't play the whole game though. Syracuse was blowing them out, so Lloyd Carr put Drew Henson in the game. He ended up flip-flopping and putting Brady back in eventually. Donovan McNabb was the Syracuse QB. That team was loaded with NFL talent. McNabb, Freeney, Keith Bulluck, Will Allen, Rob Konrad, Kevin Johnson, James Mungro, Morlon Greenwood.
