I really hope people don't misinterpret this song as being about a love triangle or something of the sort - please, I'm better than that
I don't expect a lot of people to like this one, since it is kind of a weird amalgamation of whatever I felt like writing at the moment (that has a much softer sound than usual to boot). Still, I wanted to make a more downplayed song for some time and it was pretty fun to mess around with!
I'm sorry it's a lot more word-salady and confusing than usual, but I don't want these characters' backstory to be as clear cut as the other ones in the series. I will explain some things in the doc linked down below, though!
Again, because of this song's structure the video is a bit all over the place, but, like with the song itself, I tried a lot of new things in it and, even though the result came out kinda clumsy, I learned a lot!
This turned out to be more of a learning piece to me than anything. Don’t worry, we'll be back to our usual screaming vflower programming in the next one👉👉

@@jimmyjenkins1907 Olya is still very much a wild card in all of this. All we know is that she was involved in some stalker business in the past and *most likely* lost an eye because of that. Also they say the only reason she is still alive is because "she lucked out". But what if it's more part of her being somehow involved with the border patrol which let her survive up until now?
and, just as an additional side note, the guard guy has greenish eyes, while Sergei is always drawn with black eyes

The disorganized and downplayed nature of the song makes sense to me actually! This is The Zone, right? Its pretty desolate and strange place, and I think the song's structure and tone reflect that.
That's kinda what I was going for with it, yeah! It may not have turned out perfectly, but I'm really glad I could convey that feeling!

@@VictoriaMeira7 they have both "ш" and "щ" sounds, which a lot of other languages don't have cause they're too similar, also it has a "dull e" sound (not sure how to explain it? sounds kinda like the u in ugh) and a "ы" kind of sound.
So the Talent that they talk about is being able to tell when something is anomalous. Is that why Yura knew what was going on with Katya as soon as he saw her? It explains why Olya needed to get evidence to know about Dima. Some people just having a "feel" for anomalies would also explain why Dima wants to get as far from The Zone as he can. Not only could people from the Facility show up and identify you, but a stalker who didn't know about the situation could also identify you as a mutant.
I’m not sure how derived from Roadside Picnic this is but that’s pretty much how it works in that. Stalkers have this sixth sense to detect anomalies or threats that helps them survive in the Zone which would be why Yura can tell that they’re mutants.

@@chickenbatnana4600 I have a very sneaking suspicion that Olga is actually a mutant. That would explain the lack of that "feeling" and her not reporting Dima, even though you are required by law to report any mutants within the city. And the reason of other stalkers don't "feel" anything from her could be either her mastery over her mutations/traits or having a very minor one like Sanya's albinism
@@Bert243 I really don't think so, in the doc it is written that Olya enjoys Anya's company, and knowing Anya, if Olya reported Dima, she would not come there as often anymore and although it might be a stretch but I think Olya also likes having Dima around, it is said that Olya was only a Stalker because she thought it could spice up her life, which it didn't, and also I just feel like Olya wasn't meant to be a mutant in the first place
I love how this is turning into an overarching epic with repeting harmonies and an interweaving storyline
There's actually word for repeating melodies, leitmotifs! They're an amazing way to tell a story.

Yaaaaas I totally agree with that! I already got major goosebumps when the melody faded in in the beginning and it just worked so well in the intro. So many new cool effects in this one, the rapping whispering vocaloids might be one of my fav uses of vocaloid voices of all time~
Yeah, and the lyrics of the last lines I guess are fully referenced? Those are my favorites in False Depositions but this time it got meaning even more!

It's so ironic that Sergei being too protective was what ultimately took Olya away from him, that same defensive nature that saved Olya. If he wasn't too harsh on Sanya, causing her to want to break out of her shell. Yura might have never met Katya, which in turn wouldn't lead to everything that has happened so far. And this song portrays that beginning point and breaking point of Sergei's illusion so well, he's realised that when he predicted his back being broken by the weight of his disposition, this is that moment. Hence why the melody from 'false disposition' was used! Its just so cleverly constructed and I love it! I only now realise that the flashbacks in the video are trying to point to the fact that the cause of all this was Sergei. Yura has realised this, and he's not very keen to comply with the wishes of Olya and Sergei. Hence why he was so easily willing to dispose of Olya in 'convergence'.

I love the way the song sounds and how the story is told... Everything in this song feels like it doesn't want you to know a lot but it's very telling about the things it does want you to know
Still, to this day, this is my favorite PAFL song. Don't know why, the quality of newer songs is better of course, but the vibes in this one are immaculate
even though the melody is very messy, the lyrics always find their way around and end up rhyming which i am still, now and always, amazed at. also! loved the False Disposition reprise.
This one is probably my favorite. The lyrics are catchy as hell, the visuals are stunning and the music portrays the environment amazingly. Tbh I always look forward to new songs from you and I’m already hyped for the next!

I really felt it when it just disappeared without a trace
I kinda wonder if there was a fourth person in that group that got lost in the Zone or something like that and that's what caused Olga's disillusionment, moreso than Sergei just saying "hey so I think I'm done sorry". Because:
There's that one freckled girl in a flashback at 1:50 who doesn't look like any of the female characters we've seen thus far, and one of my friends pointed out that the picture of the group with at 1:55 looks like they're all looking at somebody who's the point of view for the picture. That's also the point where Olga says that all she needs is a "hello" (like is she hoping for a hello from the person whom they've lost?) There's also the lines in Russian about someone's pale ghost "following" Olga too, and Olga's whole attitude towards Yura from 1:27 to 1:55 seems to be like, "I'm gonna try not to care about you because I cared about her and she was just like you and now she's DEAD." And the line of "I won't find her," so that freckled girl would be the "her".
This song is just rlly good qwq I think the lyrics are really clever and a great service to the song

The “freckled” girl you mention is confirmed Sanya but younger.
I think it’s more of he doesn’t want to die, like Nikita’s (glasses man) brother, which says in the doc that he died because of the grinder. Afterwards, I think that incident drove Sergei to not be a stalker anymore due to the possibility of him dying and leaving Sanya alone.

Ольга потеряла глаз, Сергей был серьезно ранен, а у третьего_парня остался шрам на шее по которому, собственно, мы можем понять, что тот самый парень_в_очках оказался третьим_парнем, просто повзрослевшим
видимо, Ольга попросила его помочь Юрке тоже
из-за этого инцидента, все трое отказались от самовольных вылезок, и только один Сергей стал сталкером
Ольга, которая, видимо, и до этого была не особо эмоциональной, совсем закрылась в скорлупу и начала надевать на себя маску безразличия, а Сергей стал более суровым и контролирующим из-за того, что не хотел больше подвергать риску кого-либо из своих близких
такая вот теория
но уверена, на практике всё куда сложнее и грустнее

В описании есть ссылка на документ. Там всё объеснено на английском. Я немного с переводчиком поколдовала. Так вот, у вас практически все правильно. Только третий парень - брат парня в очках. Сергей он и Ольга попали в "мясорубку" где брат не выжил. И парень в очках теперь винит в этом Ольгу отчасти. Но лучше если вы перепроверите мой перевод.

Мне очень нравится атмосфера песни, а так же название.Они прям раскрывают характер Ольги.И блин. Я влюблена в неё с первых нот.Цвета тоже нагнетают.Это шик.Я рада, что благодаря Ferry, многие познакомятся с этой особой атмосферой России таким образом

My eyes couldn’t stop staring at the screen, those visuals complimenting the music that was made in such a careful and precise way such as it wonderfully tells a story through referring to earlier songs of the same storyline.
I am thoroughly impressed and swept away.
I don’t often feel overrun by the feeling of being so far from what I want to reach but this is one of those times where you have shown me the incredible things artists can do.

I basically read the entire tumblr and there’s a consistent insistence that Nikita is an asshole but he’s stuck as my favorite character idk I really like his design.
Also that one ginger background character, he’s second favorite.

так или иначе, песня, как всегда шикарная!! по работе со звуком очень напомнила "heartwarming story of my creation", наверное, из-за аналогичных вставок из других песен серии (в heartwarming отчётливо звучала "through me to you", а здесь "false disposition")
очень гармонично смотрится вставка с русским текстом, прям любимая часть, звучит офигенно!

Srsly tho, these brothers are russian writers and 10/10 suggestable; I've only read translations so I bet a lot of the meaning went lost, but all their books are basically "oh so you thought you figured the story out now? Take THIS!!!"
There is seldomly a real "Hero" character, everyone is more or less just a person - and there are so many instances of main characters just doing really, really bad in a good way?!?
SPOILERS: Like in one book, the main guy thought he'd be helping to liberate the people of a different planet, and it turned out he just nullified years of work that his own people put into de-escalating the situation there.

Their books had a totally different feeling to the writing than anything I've ever read. It feels so nostalgic and heavy to read through, but at the same time fascinating and dripping with cynicism. Can agree!

I think this is my favourite so far, since these three are my favourite characters and I'm interested in glasses as well. This had the most catchy tunes, and took the catchiest parts from other songs and implemented them well. Also, actual animation and some lore! Nice.
Are the other comments just gonna ignore all the funky stuff happening in the backgrounds? Because weird shit is everywhere and I wanna know more.
Oh, and I like the vocals for this one a lot, the others songs were a bit harsh and over time I came to love those songs for the great art and story, not the actual song...

If he had a chance of surviving the shot. The bullet appears to have hit the right side of the body while probably hitting the lungs. He might die of the shock or something of that extent.

I just discovered this series recently, but I find it more than a little bit humorous that Segei (?) is recommending No Guns, while also reminding the kid to check for Anomalies by throwing a bolt... like there aren't Stalkers in the Zone that'd shoot you for looking like an easy target.
I loved the familiar melodies interwoven into this song! It honestly makes me feel more connected to the song series as a whole & more excited about diving into the lore!
