In this video, I attempt a 3 day solo survival challenge with only a pocket knife..
finding water was extremely hard on this island, the lack of water over the 3 days gave me a headache like I've never had before! definitely, the hardest challenge I've done yet

how are not that many people talking about the mystery sandal. Dude has random people offering him either a gift or a threat and he just carries on like nothing ever happened. He is lucky to be alive and is happy as can be.
Where the hell do you think he was? Do you think, like I do, it might be an uncontacted tribe perhaps? I mean.. they have cows. Either from a ship, shipwreck or maybe possibly from a people with some raft ability. It’s conceivable they could like.. tow a cow on a leash lol I’ve seen a moose swim towards an island it would’ve certainly died trying to get to and we had to pretty much tow the beast back to Nova Scotia lol he was off meat cove if you look it up. He was like 2km to an island 5km away. They can swim like 4K max.

For your water machine, always be careful not to venture too far away while you are collecting. While the game’s render distance is impressive, if you go too far, you’ll lose water.

Fresh water can always be found along the sea coast by digging behind the wind-blown sand dunes which back most ocean beaches. The dunes trap rain water, which floats on top of the heavier salt water, filtered in from the ocean.
The fact there were other people there without his knowledge gave me chills

I wonder if you can replicate the solar still you made except instead of the leaves, you just fill the hole with the saltwater right there from the ocean, let the sun evaporate the water out of the salt, and have the water condense on the plastic to a point hovering above the water bottle. At least in theory, that would lead to unlimited water because it ain't like the ocean is running dry anytime soon. Plus you'll have salt for seasoning collected at the bottom, so that's a bonus. Which may seem silly on the surface, but one of the biggest challenges a human will face out in the middle of nowhere with nothing to eat, drink, or even a roof over their head is their own mind. If you find any ways, no matter how small, to keep your mind level and your heart rate from being too high, you'll burn fewer calories and you'll think far more clearly, meaning you won't need as much food to survive and you'll be less likely to make dumb mistakes. So little things like having sea salt to season your food with might seem small or unnecessary, but anything you can do to keep your head in the right place makes a huge difference.
I have seen a salt water still made from a steel jerry can, a piece of pipe and a plastic bottle so I think your theory is workable. The trickiest part I can envisage would be rigging the vessel for holding the salt water and making sure it didn't decontaminate your collection of fresh water. Essentially, you'd just need a means to effectively boil large quantities of salt water and collect the steam.
