Elaine should in my opinion, tell her husband to rent a storage locker off the premises. If he wants to hoard he can, but not on the property. She deserves a clean and tidy home for her own mental and physical health.

This is extremely difficult to watch . To have this man display such selfishness , as well as no regard to his wife or daughter and how this affects their life is wild . You want those things , you get whatever fits in that camper . When he can then stay . Let his wife and daughter stay in the house .

That guy was a joke of a man and a pathetic example of a father. Worst part is the end when she says goodbye and he cant even come out the room to say goodbye or better yet thank her for helping get their house cleaned. That guy does not have a bright future if he don't change. Thanks for exposing horrible people like him to the world.

Penny said it - he hasn't got the balls, but still needs to be in control of everything! Resting in his room, fuming, like a little child and still pulling the strings on his wife who has a serious condition!

He's the poster CHILD for selfishness! !...I do think his wife loves him, but there's a fear she has as well. When you become very ill, there's a fear of being left alone. I'm sure he's picked up on that, and being as selfish as he is he'll play it for all it's worth...😢

His kids won’t want any of those things. They’ll throw them away. Keep your money and make life easier for your lovely wife.

In USA we have yard sales all the time. Several Facebook Giveaway pages where people list their stuff for free. We also have several donation shops.

I was a collector of this and that but not to this scale. My adult kids have all said not interested in any of it so I have and continue to sell stuff it is a great relief

Paul is delusional and selfish. All those things he thinks are collectors items have all been mass produced in the thousands. They aren't worth what he thinks they are. What a waste of money. Elaine should just tell him to get a storge unit and get all that crap out of the house. And then to have Elaine bring him a cup of tea when she has MS.?! I'd be taking the opportunity while he is in his room and toss all that crap.

I think that if you’re prepared to live with a hoarder you just have to have your own well-being in focus. That means the hoarder has to have a limited space for his or her stuff, i.e. a single room, a shed or a locker. When it gets this bad it’s always going to be a hard job.

I don't know what's more worrying the stuff or the flowers in the cola bottle in the kitchen. 🤦‍♀️

He denied being a hoarder. His collectibles, true or not true ones, are to be part of his will ? Who cares ? His children or wife will throw it away, bc collectibles are in prestine condition. His " treasures" looked ragged and cheap. So, no, they're not worth the money and place. And sadly their children have to spend their visits in the camper....

I don't have OCD but that thumbnail is a mess. Anyone that keeps the kitchen like that doesn't deserve one. Is it so hard to tidy up and put everything back where it was once you're done?

how crazy... to be so selfish - cannot clean up his own mess, not giving a normal space for other family members, and once you go, they will be the ones who'll have to deal with all that junk... life is not about all that material trash you think you need, it's about experiences and a place to call home where you can relax and enjoy peace and comfort

so here is my irritation with these sorts of videos dont get me wrong i know hoarding is a serious issue but lets put things in perspective.
the goal i assume for the cleaner is to make moving around the house more manageable that shed if everything was pulled out and put back in neatly could have held alot more items same with all the rooms in the house heck 1 room could have held all the items in the house.
the hoarder i have no doubt has tens of thousands of collectables because he know it will sell for xyz the issue is to someone who is not a collector will just think its junk.
the cleaner should of sat down and said everything you know will be worth £100 or less put in this pile and everything u know will be worth 100-1000 put in this pile and everything higher then 1000 put in this pile.
hes now focusing on not getting rid of stuff he values but simply sorting out the value then once u have set aside the stuff thats under £100 chances are your gonna get a bunch of toys, records, books, games and many more then you can probabley convince him to get rid of the stuff under £100 because he will quickly notice 90% of the items are not stuff he truly cares about.
his emotions at the start of this was that your out to get rid of his star trek collection as a hoarder he needs to know thats safe but a bunch of shit toys like teddies and cars them are just sort of side things he picks up every week at car boot sales something he can get the money back from with a car boot of his own and it turns out thats EXACTLY what was done only they went threw the process of stressing him out and having a whirlwind of emotions.
i have spoken with hoarders before and helped them u need to understand there side of an argument and go with that argument to devise a plan it dont always work but the ocd cleaner just didnt care about anything other than the woman living in that house and considered everything junk.
