First Things First: Cris Carter and Nick Wright No way. He’s the absolute most talented QB I’ve ever seen in my life. He’s just too good, and if you watched his preseason snaps...you can tell he knows how to read defenses better now. He’s super smart. Mix that with his cannon arm. Man!

Not with their weapons at the moment. He makes quick reads and that's what you look for. It's only a matter of not trying for too much and, crazily enough, letting his D rest. I've never seen that and it actually is something they gotta factor

@@errinobryan4697 The unsurprising thing we've learned since then is that there were more teams than you think had him number 1 on their board. The Saints, Texans, the Bucs under Arians, in addition to the Chiefs obviously, were going to take him. All of them knew they had discovered the next great QB, but it was only the Chiefs who decided not to mess around. I have a feeling it was those teams leaking all of the bad stuff about him so they could sabotage his draft stock.

Good to see Tony Richardson. He was a great fullback and while I like Sherman in that position. Tony was the best FB in catching a pass out of the backfield, and blocking against the rush. I love Mahomes but I find myself cringing every time he drops back to pass as you can almost feel the intense desire for the pass rush to crush him and injuries for anyone playing are my biggest fear.
I will never forget the game the Chiefs played in the late 90's, or early 2000's when Tony Richardson at Fullback completely owned Ray Lewis for an entire game. I mean...him and Will Shields were pan caking, and completely making Ray Lewis look inept. Ray kept screaming at the refs to call a holding, when honestly? They just worked him. Those Chiefs teams on offense were monsters. That offensive line was nasty. Broncos fan by the way..
Shane Nelson the Tony Gonzalez and Priest Holmes days. The current Chiefs have more talent on skill positions. Hope their O-line can be at least adequate

@@dirknowitzki3891 Maybe but I doubt it. Cris strikes me as a guy who deeply respects talent and motivation and determination. Romo comes off as kind of a goof sometimes but I sense he prepares for each game he does the play by play color commentary - maybe it is just a potential great match up but who would do the play by play I guess. They both have great insights and perspectives at their NFL positions.

From what I've seen so far I expect the defense to be much better against the run this year. That alone might be enough since the teams that have the best shot against the Chiefs are the ones that are run heavy with a talented defense with depth in the secondary. Even if your base defense is stellar how is your dime package talent level? You are going to have some very talented Chiefs receivers like Hardman matched up against your 4th corner. With that said the Chiefs pass coverage has been very poor even though Sorensen has played great with Thornhill pushing him for that starting spot. So teams may be tempted to try to win a shootout against KC with an improved run defense, but poor secondary. I just don't think anyone can keep up scoring with the Chiefs. I basically see the Chiefs as one elite corner away from being nearly unbeatable when healthy and even as it stands now I feel if healthy there is no way the Chiefs don't get to the super bowl this year. It's a long season though and there will be ups and downs so I'm eager to see how this all plays out. The Patriots had the perfect game plan and the personnel to beat the Chiefs last year and still barely got it done. This year Mahomes has more experience and the defense is improved against the run. If I'm playing GM right now you have a deep roster and some good players are not going to be making the team. I'd be looking to trade some of those guys and maybe even draft picks to pick up a corner from a team with a deeper secondary.

It baffles me that people are still saying "you can't win the Super Bowl with a defense that bad". The Chiefs were an offsides penalty or a coin toss away from being in the Super Bowl against the Rams. That game would have been a shootout without any defense. Last years Chiefs CLEARLY showed that you CAN win the Super Bowl with a defense that bad. They came up inches short and if a few plays went their way, would have came home with a trophy. Stop with that nonsense.

All that doesn't matter, "defense wins championships" the chiefs allowed 37 at HOME in a championship game and were horrible all year on that side of the ball. The chiefs, in their losses, averaged about 35 a game. You can not win a super bowl that way.
All they need is a middle of the pack defense and they'll be good to go.

Can't judge this year's defense based on last year's. There's practically no one left from that team from players to coaches. Defensive line and safety position are strong - really strong. Linebackers are solid. Only weakness is CB's, and they'll figure out ways to minimize that.

My argument is that when I evaluate Patrick's overall skill-set, I cannot find meaningful QB metric where he is not better than those other 2 guys. But of course, he still has to go out year after year and prove himself just like everyone else.
@Logan Par You do know that Marino only won 1 league MVP during his whole career, right? Also, Marino could not throw from a multitude of angles like Patrick, nor was he able to roll out of the pocket and be as creative as Patrick. Aside from accuracy (which is negligible at this point), I cannot find another meaning QB metric where Marino is appreciably better than Patrick. In truth, Patrick is more athletic, has a bigger arm and has far greater play-making ability.
@@Ellis1993 Wentz is nowhere near the type of talent that Patrick is. I mean, Carson had the best O-line in 2017 and still managed to get hurt. Also, Wentz is not as accurate nor does he have the breadth of play-making ability that Patrick has. So even though I think Wentz is a hall of fame type talent, he is not on par with Patrick as a QB.

Chiefs biggest challenge is getting td instead if fieldgoals. The d is gonna get beat so it all depends on beating tn in redone.
I expect Titans to give kc the filed play safe and wait till the filed is short to step up cause that's when they are at their best. Tn defense will patiently wait on that mistake every 20 attempts.
Tn will jam the wr hard at times cause that does tend to throw off mahomes. For the most part safety will play deep.

Defense wins in every sport. Offense has taken the Chiefs to the dance quite a bit the last 10 years. The defense has left them crying on the dance floor every time, with the exception of the Pittsburg game two yrs. ago.

1) The D is VASTLY improved by getting rid of Houston and Ford, the change of D coordinator, the switch to 4-3, and the addition of a new S(Matthiew) and DE(Clark). The rookie S(Thornhill) will grow into a STUD, too.
2) Carlos Hyde is hardly the "the answer" -- he won't even make the roster. Damien Williams and Darwin Thompson are both MUCH better.
