  • Nick Wright talks Aaron Rodgers after the Green Bay Packers suffered a shocking upset to Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round. Both he and Chris Broussard believe that the Green Bay quarterback did not rise to the moment, did not spread the ball around enough, and failed to push his team over the edge to a victory. Watch as Nick details why this game might be the single worst loss in Rodgers' career.

He folded with a 1 seed again at home in the dream weather for him because SF don’t usually play in the cold weather. They had home field and weather advantage and still didn’t score a single pass touchdown against an average secondary. What a terrible loss.

He chocked for sure, but I wouldn’t say they had the “weather advantage” against a team that specializes in zone running schemes and running, not passing. 49ers are designed for cold weather and just because Pros play there doesn’t mean they played in warm places in college.

Rodgers is one of the greatest to ever play the game, that is undeniable. But the amount of passes and excuses he’s gotten for his shortcomings in the payoffs is just crazy. No, not all of the losses are on him of course, there were games where he was letdown by his teammates and coaching. But like Broussard said, some of those losses he was did not play well up until late in the second half when the game was pretty much out of reach. Which is why his numbers look so good in those games.

Brady's had some terrible performances in the playoffs, too... in his prime and at home, no less. But I agree that certain players just seem to be built for the postseason. They have the proverbial ice water in their veins in lose-and-you're-done scenarios. Brady and Mahomes definitely have it, but greats like Peyton and Rodgers just didn't/don't. The funniest thing is that guys like Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, and Nick Foles were very mediocre regular season performers but always seemed to steady themselves and find that extra gear or two in the playoffs and SB. So there's really no rhyme or reason.

He should go to Indy. Somehow, despite having traded for Carson Wentz, they still have a huge amount of cap space. They acquire Rodgers (future first round picks, maybe Pittman) and sign Adams to go with the best young RB in football, one of the best OLs in football and a very solid DEF. It's a very winnable division. Harder conference, but the Packers would sooner do a deal to send him to the AFC. It's too bad they wasted assets and cap room on Wentz, but they can still get out of it, keep Wentz as a top backup and have a true Super Bowl contender with Rodgers.

Look ,folks , Rodgers has been an over rated over hyped Regular Season Wonder boy similar to Drew Brees . But Rodgers is now 11 - 10 in the Playoffs because of his mediocre Playoff play and his limited team construction . Green Bay just hasn't had that one two punch at Reciever you need to win Playoff games and SBs as a QB . He hasn't had that double threat WR Combo like a Evans - Godwin / Hicks - Cruz / Harrison - Wayne .
In reality Jimmy G and the 49ers are not going to beat the Rams this time . So Jimmy G will throw 3 bonehead picks in a Playoff game like he always does and be run out of SF . I see the 49ers making a play for Rodgers and Adams . Both guys are from Northern California . Rodgers wanted to be drafted by the 49ers . Kyle Shanahan runs a similar offensive system to Matt Lafleur .The 49ers have a potential SB winning team , so Rodgers wouldn't be on a rebuild in SF . Rodger's wife could be an hour flight away from Hollywood as well .

Jimmy G would love to play for the Chicago Bears where he is from and resurrect that team . But Rodgers moving to an AFC team like Vegas , Denver , Cleveland , Pittsburgh , or Miami would actually enhance his legacy , not damage it . If he could win a SB in those SB starved cities he would be immortal , especially with the Browns . His Legacy is already not so good in the Post Season , and won't improve if he stays in GB .
