Omg. One time I was leaving Hawaii and I bought some bath bombs. Well as I was going through security they pulled me aside and were asking me about large round objects they saw through the machine in my suitcase and I said “those are bath bombs”....do NOT EVER say that. All the sudden tsa was everywhere everyone was freaking out. I had no clue what was going on and it was so scary. So I start saying “SOAP SOAP ITS SOAP”. Apparently none of these guys knew what a bath bomb was but never again. I must also add that in the flight TO Hawaii I was stopped because I had a bag of pistachios in my bag and through the machine they thought it was marijuana. I’ve only flown once since. And I brought clothing...that’s it.

If you haven’t seen it would HIGHLY recommend the original “Old Boy” movie. Still to this day one of my favorite foreign movies right up there with “The Raid”

As a Korean American, I Recommend international movies like “old boy”, “Tazza : The High Rollers”, “Open City” and “The Chaser” which was based on a true story.

So fun story:
While at college I worked in a building that housed the Campus PD, my office (Non-Traditional & Military Students), and a few other random services. I didn't have a computer while in college, which meant that being a Visual Communications Major (think graphic design) I would often go to my office on weeknights to work on projects or whatever. Because I had been working there for a few years and was the lead Student Advisor for Military Students I had a key, and a dedicated office myself and a couple other students would work out of. Anyway, it was a normal mid-week night, I was there working on a project, I had closed the door that night, something I didn't usually do. I hear some commotion, people knocking on the door next to my office, so thinking that perhaps it was a student who might have seen the light-on outside and come in and gotten the wrong door (I was a peer advisor/ liaison to like 200+ military students at any given time, some students had issues mental health or otherwise so it wasn't too uncommon to have them come to the office if they knew someone was there just to talk or whatever) so I went and opened it...at this time, I realized this wasn't a student. I had failed to notice that the building was surrounded by Campus PD / Sheriff / and Local PD cars all who came in silent, the second I opened the door I was greeted by no less than 6 officers with pistols, shotguns, and rifles all aimed directly at me. Naturally, I nearly shit my pants, there was a lot of screaming, "Get down on your knees, Get your hands up." Not knowing what was going on I obliged. After being surrounded, one of the Campus PD Officers recognized who I was (the Campus PD was aware that I often came in late nights to do school work, and would often come down and check on me, bringing me coffee or just come down to shoot the shit). I was escorted out of the building, the whole time officers outside had guns drawn and pointed at me until I was "handed off" to an officer outside. I told them what I was doing there, and asked what was going on. They naturally couldn't tell me. A few hours go by, im sitting outside the building with the PD's, because I was mid-project, left my phone and everything else inside the office, I needed to get back in. The whole scenario ended and I went back in to finish my work, some of the Campus PD guys came down and asked if I had heard a gunshot around whatever time it was, I hadn't. Apparently the Campus PD had heard what sounded like a gunshot outside their office then heard the doors open and close, so they decided to clear the building. Turns out the gunshot noise was a bike tire that had popped as a student was riding their bike in the back parking lot. For the next few weeks, the Campus PD would come down to the office (even during business hours) to "check on me" and make sure I didn't need to talk to anyone about the incident. I've been in combat in Iraq, and this was by far one of the more scary moments of my life, I kinda laugh about it today, but man...I thought I was a gonner when I opened that door and had all those guns pointed right at my chest.

everyone saw the raid dude, it got a major us release.
The OG Joe Kerr the first raid movie did not get a major US release, a cursory google search could tell you that. The 2nd received a fairly minor US release, as it was only showing on a few screens and in a few theaters near where I live, and I live in a major city

Have you ever had any experiences with police? How do you think all the reports of 50+ shots fired by police without even hitting the person they were shooting at.
@@109268 Yes, I have. But as a white woman who leans away from criminal activity, my interactions with the cops have all been pretty calm and polite, no guns drawn.
I am unaware of any stories about SWAT shooting 50+ bullets and missing their intended target. Could you please post a link to the news stories?

@@NotHPotter Bercilak None of these articles involved SWAT. SWAT officers are required to spend quite a bit more time training than patrol officers. It is shocking how little training and range time some departments require for patrol officers.
If you actually have to fire your weapon, you are trained to shoot center mass, multiple round bursts until the threat is resolved, meaning the person is on the ground and out of the fight. So it's not unusual for a lot of shots to be fired. You're contending with adrenaline, poor sight lines/low light, and moving targets. In each of the cases you provided, the ave shots fired per officer was 15 or less. 70% of cops carry a Glock 22 which has a 15 round capacity.
So rather than being appalled by the number of shots fired or the number of misses, what is problematic is the lack of concern for their backstops and obviously in the case of the LAPD and Cleveland cases, misuse of lethal force. In the Miami case, dude committed armed robbery AND shot a cop. The cops then proceeded to accidentally shoot two of their own and endanger the neighborhood. The Cleveland one is just disgusting and I think more of the officers should have been prosecuted rather than just fired.
I think police departments everywhere need more training in weapons and tactics, communications techniques for defusing rather than escalating, and situations involving lethal force.
That said, none of your articles applied to my comment regarding SWAT.

SWAT isn't that different from the average officer, and if anything they're more flagrant in their disregard for policy, because they're "elite" and generally given more discretion to act in the moment.
