Wow that's crazy! So the bat came round and hit you? And you fell off the sofa when you were younger? Wow that's insane. That's worse than what my mom told me happened when I was young. Apparently when I was in her hand in the early 2000s somehow I swung out of her hand and hit my head and she swore it affected my brain or I had autism but thankfully I don't cuz I've been doing amazing in school and haven't had a hard time making and keeping friends.

I don't think they can have guests as of now really.
Very different to sit down for 10 minutes and tell a story when he has time as opposed to hours of coming up with interesting stuff to say off the cuff as well as figuring out the right guests. It’s a lot more work than people think.

His parents must have been so scared for his life and his future after that bump! Those can be really detrimental to babies. Glad he grew up to be the amazing man that he is.
Facts. Injury like that coulda went real bad. Good thing he grew up to be a beneficial man to society.
For sure. But in this case it may have contributed to his superpowers later in life to give top notch interviews, handle spicy food, and kiss girls!

I love this storytelling series! My son did s similar thing when he was around 2 years old. He fell from my bed and hit the back of his head in a bookcase. I was so scared and there was so much blood. They had to glue the cut on my boys head.

Sean I can SO relate to you. My child/teenhood was ridden with the smacks to the head resulting in permanent scars. And in all the cases I did it to myself, wether it was accidentally smacking my forehead with a brick while climbing a pile (of bricks), or running down the stairs and breaking a chunk of concrete arc when I jumped 4 steps too early... It's like my head is a magnet for various injuries... And yes, like with you, my dad was there to deal with the blood fountain, ugh...
the "I love you and I miss you" at the end of the phone call made me a lil emotional. so sweet

My hubby has so many crazy stories on his noggin! New to the neighborhood and met neighbor girl who’s birthday it was, and getting gifts out of the trunk, she didn’t see my hubby and slammed his head in the trunk and the latch got stuck in his head! Got malled by his husky/malamute at the age of almost 2 and has a massive bald spot on the side of his head and a ton of little scars all over his face. Had his front tooth knocked out in football. The list goes on and on 🤣 I’m so glad you’re ok Sean! We miss seeing you and whoever you get to sit across you each week! Can’t wait till life gets back to a more normal and get back in the hot seat ❤️

I have a similar story of busting my head open when I was real young. I was at a softball field with some of my family and asked my dad if I could go to the top of the bleachers, which he said was okay. But unfortunately when no one had their eye on me I somehow tumbled off of them and landed the back of my head squarely on a softball. I have no recollection of the event, but some very clear memories of MRI scans and being made to put puzzles together to make sure my brain wasn't scrambled.
Also my foreign film recs are Oldboy and Le Samourai.

Watch the Norwegian film The Wave then the follow-up The Quake. These are thriller/action/disaster movies but the genre was given respect by the film makers. Excellent acting and special effects, great scripts.

Good story! There's a whole generation of us, born in the '60s in Southern California who all have a scar on our forehead. You see, marble coffee tables were particularly popular and when a toddler trips and falls, bouncing a forehead off of a 3/4-in thick marble slab, skin is split and blood shall pour forth. You can literally look at people who grew up in a particular area and many of us have that exact scar dead center on the forehead.

I have had stitches in my head twice. Go kart fell on my head when I was 6 or 7 (long story), and I got a coffee table injury too. The coffee table injury started with me kicking the coffee table. I bent over to grab my foot in pain and when I got back up I smacked the top of my head and split it open.
The go kart injury was 5 stitches, and the coffee table 7. Only other time I had stitches was when I shredded my hand when I was 21 and got 15 stitches there. There are plenty of other times I probably should have gotten stitches, but just patched myself up and let it heal.
