@@DjangoBruh There are some officially recognized "sports" that are also arguably more a skill than a sport by that definition (if you have to use your entire body as Skip says). Esports do after all require varying degrees of hand and finger dexterity as well as hand/eye coordination.
And what if it's something like DDR? That requires more athleticism than a sport like archery or skeet, does it not? It's too easy for older guys like Skip who probably have a condescending attitude towards video games to dismiss the idea of esports out of hand.

From full contact to no contact, from a pitch, to a table, the passion for competition takes any game into sport.
