On Hot Ones, you've seen celebrities come down to earth through the humanizing effects of hot sauce. On Hot Ones: The Game Show, the script is flipped-and the stakes are raised-as spice lords get the opportunity to become heroes of the Pepperdome by conquering four rounds of trivia and some of the hottest wings known to mankind. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that he managed to get his own entire tv show, but honestly, I like Hot Ones better as a web series. It feels more professional and yet more personal.
Pretty much in the same boat here, I'm super happy for the success they are having and wishing them good luck with this tv show but I'm not sure if it's a good thing for them. I'll probably give the show a shot but I'm not very optimistic.
I was thinking the same thing at first, but if you look at it as one big commercial for one of the best interview shows on the web. He will be broadening his viewer base with people that are not familiar with the web series and also be able to get more celebrities that are willing to do the show that he wasn't able to access before. Let's just hope he continues hot ones internet series!
I was thinking the same, the concept has a whole heap of potential but looking at the trailer I don't like the direction they took. Like why do a lot of the contestants have smeared makeup or sauce around their mouth, let them clean themselves up FFS; why is the chef acting so hype. It just seems like classic TV trying to be "outrageous" rather than just letting the crazy hot wings and natural reactions set the show apart from other game shows the same way that hot ones does with their interviews

The whole first season was over 5 years ago. This shitshow on TruTV is certainly going to change the Hot Ones youtube. You think Sean Evans is going to work overtime to make sure there is a season 12, 13, and so on? Fat chance, that's wishful thinking.
@@steelinskin5925 the first season of the game show. The interviews are also most likely prerecorded. He doesn't have to work overtime. He can easily film the game show during the off season of the KRplus show. People do it all the time...actors often have multiple things out in the same year cause they filmed them at different times

Sean deserves his own TV-Interview-Show(Larry King, Parkinson etc) style, cause that's the Essence of the Hot Ones...it's not about celebrities eating wings, it's about Sean's UNIQUE questions and personal interviews.
A Cringy Gameshow with clown contestants and an audience Screaming in the back is NOT FUN...
You can't just get your own TV-Interview-Show. If that's his goal, I'd say a game show is a great way to gain mainstream TV fame. If he's interesting enough on the show more people will talk about him and watch his interviews, and that's how he climbs the notoriety ladders.

@@octave38 I know it's an inside game on how you get a tvshow, BUT, if you look at the current late night hosts(fallon,kimmel,corden etc), they were way less known when they got their shows, than Sean is today. The hot ones has already a massive following, have already hosted top celebrity names, and most of them(if not all) were surprised at Sean's interviewing skills. Then again, it's the internet...a very different market than TV...
This could go way wrong. I've really not liked the "Hot Ones" "audienced" interviews, but, as this is a game show, the audience is encouraged to be involved (think "Deal or No Deal"), and you will have "contestant issues".
So, I'll give it a fair shot...
Mixed emotions. Happy for Sean and the crew. But this feels like when Vice sold out to become viceland.

Sean is very stoic and he's so humble with the guests. I love him for that, He's cool smart and efficient. He's very lovable.
The best thing about First We Feast is the questions Sean ask the celebrity guest. With this show it looks like trivia with looks like random people. The hot wings are just a bonus on top of the amazing questions Sean ask, in this show it looks like a crutch.
