- Eel is one of the most traditional ingredients in Japanese cooking. But in the U.S., the delicacy is still largely misunderstood. On this episode of Gochi Gang, Reina Scully is embarking on an eel-eating adventure. First, Chef Hiroki Fukushima gives Reina a crash course in the preparation of unagi, or freshwater eel, at Unagi Aburi Ittetsu. And later, Reina teams up with WWE superstar and sushi obsessive Asuka for an omakase experience centered around anago, unagi's saltwater cousin. This show is fantastic and Reina is such a perfect choice as a host for it; so glad for every episode, not just for the guests (all awesome!) but for Reina’s work. Really truly well done.

I have given up on WWE as a whole, too many let downs in the past and the matches/stories bore me....I mean AEW is great but i feel like im watching old WWF in the late 90s with their gimmicks.
I want them to drop the tag titles so they can go back to singles competition. Asuka especially has so much more to offer on her own. Plus, the word on the street is that Kairi Sane and Io Shirai are going back to Japan when their contracts expire in a couple months.

This is my new favorite "show" on KRplus. I love the mix of NYC and Japanese, I learn something new every episode and really really really want to take a Japanese food tour with Reina. I think it would be amazing!

Reina *is* Japanese. Her accent is indicative of where she is from, she's being very formal when she speaks to many of these chefs
Just discovered the Goshi Gang part of this channel, have to Reina is dope! she did so well balancing two different interviews between Asuka and those two sushi chefs.

It is good. Once you get past the "eww, eel" bit, it's like one of the tastiest grilled/fried fish you'll ever have. Up there with catfish, perch, and walleye. ;)

@@PongoXBongo Had my first unagi serving last week. Absolutely splendid. Saba (mackerel) is one of my favorite choices for sushi, but now that I've had unagi, I'm so torn over which I like more, lol.
@@BolverkAtlasia/videos One of the nice things about sushi is that it comes in (relatively) small portions. So, if you can find a reasonably priced place, you can get a couple different things without feeling too stuffed or guilty.
@@PongoXBongo The sushi place I frequent has this sampler available during lunch hours, where you pay like 11 bucks and you get completely random nigiri thrown at you, like whatever the chef is in the mood for, plus you get a California roll. It's great. That's what I always go for when I'm looking to try something new.
