- To help raise money for the millions of restaurant workers affected by COVID-19, Binging with Babish, Mythical Chef Josh, and Alvin are teaming up to cook the ultimate teriyaki burger using leftovers as part of the #LeftoversChallenge fundraiser.
Take-out and delivery are the last lifelines for many restaurants and they are urging people to continue their support. That’s why we’re introducing the challenge: Order more take-out from a local favorite than you can eat in one meal, make the most creative dish possible out of the leftovers, post it on social media with #LeftoversChallenge, and challenge your friends to do the same.
If you have the means, please click the button to donate to the Restaurant Worker’s Community Foundation (www.restaurantworkerscf.org/). During the COVID-19 outbreak, the organization is distributing 50% of all funds received to direct restaurant worker relief, 25% to non-profits serving restaurant workers, and 25% to zero-interest loans for restaurants starting back up.

As a line cook I appreciate this message. We got fucked over. The wait staff got hurt way more than us
They also got paid way more per hour than u, and that's just in tips.

@@eleanor81 Depends on the restaurant and how much they pay cooks. Back when I used to only make 10-12/hr the servers would leave with 200+ a night after a 5 hour shift and I don't know what my current wait staff leave at with me making about 18 now. But right now the servers are being fucked the hardest because of their inconsistent income. In my state they are only getting maybe 100-150 in unemployment.

@Red Odin *should say, i'm not arguing that everyone's been shafted and that waiters/waitress have been shafted more or less. Everyone in the restaurant/food service industry has been shafted and its very crap right now for all of us.
hearing Josh curse and being a little bit more of himself is far more refreshing than the censored character he has to play in the GMM world.

It makes me happy that Josh is getting recognized on KRplus by other prominent food channels. That Dude actually has hella talent but for the longest time alot of people acted like he was a joke. Just like the other day when Brad Leone was on Mythical Kitchen - you could tell he didn't wanna be there and that he either didn't really fw Josh or he didn't take him seriously which sucked cause you'd think they'd be a good match. That was the first guest I've seen react so negatively to Mythical. I get that it's weird food and by no means normal, but it at least makes things interesting
My only problem is I’m the type of guy who doesn’t ever have leftovers. Even if I order extra I’m eating it till I explode.

I've lived in Seattle and Portland, and the only time I see macaroni salad and teriyaki is at Hawaiian restaurants.

Can confirm as a Portlander. There are Hawaiian places where you can get teriyaki, but I have never seen mac salad at a restaurant that claims to be a teriyaki joint.

My brother is a chef, and I thoroughly support this message. Your local restaurants need your support. If you can afford it, most places are still doing take-out, drive thru, or even curbside pickup. I'm sure donating to this cause couldn't hurt either.

I love this, because I work in a restaurant in a retirement community and I've seen half of the kitchen staff being let go and those who are still working are only working under 30 hrs. It's been hard but thanks to people like these guys a lot of people will get back on their feet. ❤️

It's been as much as I can do on a student budget, but I've been ordering take-out from my favorite restaurants every Saturday since this all started. This video is a great idea and thank you all for raising awareness for all of the restaurant workers affected by the pandemic. I would also encourage people to order take-out versus delivery where you can so less of what you pay isn't taken from the restaurant by delivery service fees, and if you do use delivery tip extra for the delivery drivers. Buying gift certificates to someone's favorite restraunt for their birthday or requesting that for your own is another great way to offer support. And of course donating to foundations and organizations such as Restraunts Workers Community Foundation amazing.

I often repurpose leftovers, short ribs or braised shanks become tacos or pasta dishes and Chinese food always becomes the best fried rice anyone I’ve shared with us ever had. I’ll turn leftover pasta into soups or some sort of starchy pan fried cake to complement the current evenings protein... the options are endless. Hope you fellas keep this series going, keep up the industry love. I appreciate you.

There is no such thing. I will just eat until it is gone.
I'd eat until I get full (which takes quite a bit), and then an hour later I eat the rest because I get hungry that quickly for some reason. Is it considered leftovers if I let it sit for an hour before I eat it again? 🤔🤔🤔

I was thinking the whole time that Motz would be so critical of this concoction that Alvin made and then he makes a cameo at the end! I love it! I love Mr. Motz! I learned so much about not only burgers but cooking in general just from watching The Burger Show with Alvin and especially the episodes where Motz was on. I wish they'd do some more episodes when this is all back to normal.
