And in the end Agust D 2 kills his past self - meaning he moved on from the problems he talked about in the first album
OMG. I was looking for this comment! I was thinking the same exact thing. I was beginning to think no one else thought so.

Min Yoongi is a grandson of Korea's Last Empress
Fun fact: Yoongi (Suga) has a royal blood in his body. He is from the Yeoheung Clan. He is the 31st generation of Min family, of Yeoheung clan. His ancestors started the lineage in Yeoheung (which is near Yeoju). If that clan wouldn’t have settled down, Suga would’ve been an emperor of Korea right now
Is that true?

IS THAT FOR REALLLL??!!
milktae bubbletae yes his family is related to the kings and queens that last rule Korea that’s where his last name min came from
wait what
“Daechwita” kinda means like “Big Parade” but BIG as in The King. Historically, if the king left his palace in Korea to travel or walk among the people, this was announced with a bunch of horns blowing (like the traditional instruments you hear in the beat) and loud proclamations and by royal proclaimers like you hear before the beat starts in the beginning, to let the people know the King is on the move.
Thankyoi for explaining
Thank you for the education!
Just my question, why he killed King at the end. Im confused.
@@leslieismeeeee i think i saw someone say that he doesnt want to be too full of himself so its like killing the suga thats corrupted with fame and money
@@marioreoo Love that.
Here's a theory that a lot of AMRYs are talking about: So “Daechwita” is a traditional Korean monk’s chant to announce the arrival of the king. In the mv, Suga is both the "slave" and the "king." The slave is the most recent Present Suga, while the king represents the Suga who has all the fame. As of right now, Suga has gained a lot of fame, money, and all these luxury things over the years. Therefore, right now he the king of everything but he realizes that he wants more, and that’s there’s always more. So at the end of mv, Suga shoots his old self (the “king” who has everything) to return to his “slave” self to begin his new journey to conquer something else. That's why he says he's gone “up and up and up” and he wants to keep himself humble and “come back down” so that he can go through that process of success and gaining new things again.
I also read somewhere that in Korea, you cannot become king if you have a scar on your face/body like that. So the fact that he has that huge scar while also being king is pretty cool.
Perfect explanation 🔥🔥

A historical drama where Yoongi plays the character of the twins: the tryant King Min of Joseon and the rebel brother Yoongi
The reason why they have both have an identical scar in their eye is because they were twins cursed at birth. The scar allows them to feel each other so every time that they're close to each other, their scar throbs painfully. At their tender age, they promised to each other that they would rule side by side but their parents had to separate them for their own good because the pain the scar gives to them was too much. King Min grew up in the palace while the other Yoongi grew up in poverty away from royalty. As young King Min was groomed to be the next King, he saw how his father poorly treated their people which made him think a lot of his brother's condition outside the palace walls. But as time goes by, without the presence of his other brother Yoongi as he grows, he grew more tyrannical and became paranoid from everything so when he has been crowned as the new King of Joseon, the people suffered even more under his rule. On the other hand, Yoongi who is away from the palace, experienced those unfair treatment and became a victim too as he grows, thus this led him to decide and that is to usurped the throne from his brother.
Only his brother can defeat him. And that's how King Min knows his rebel brother Yoongi is on his way to dethrone him.

The part of the song where Suga rapped “pathetic fvcks putting on a talent show, not gonna lie what a shit show” Armys think it was referring to S!mon C0weLL launching a boyband search last year in which he sad ~that he will produce the biggest boyband in the world and saying while Kpop is ruling over the world, its time for UK-POP.~ 😂

Daechwita refers to traditional Korean music played while the king is on his way to an important place. The background of the music video is set in the Korean Joseon Dynasty, and Suga's hairstyle and costume are also "Sangtu" of the Joseon Dynasty and "hanbok" worn by the king. 5:17 In the music video, the commoners of the Joseon Dynasty were dressed in white clothes and covered their heads with white pockets, kneeling in line, and cutting their necks in front of the king. So at the end of the music video 9:50, Suga knelt before the king(suga), his eyes covered with cloth, and his body tied with cloth. Finally, there is a person who dances with a big knife in front of Suga and sprinkles water with his mouth 9:39, because in the Joseon Dynasty, people who cut off the throat of sinners used to spray water on sinners and perform sword dances that mock sinners
wow thanks for the info

I want to talk about the scar. The scar on his face really reminds me of “Wang So” the main character in scarlet heart ryeo. Correct me if I’m wrong, but you can’t be a king if you have scar on your body. So if he have a scar but still sitting at the throne as a King that’s mean he is really that powerful, people call them “the mad king”. I think that’s the reason why there is 2 yoongi, one is the mad king and the other one is his other self who wants to tame/destroy the mad king .
to add on, a karmy noticed the scar on black hair yoongi was older and scabbing, but the one on king yoongis was new/ fresh. i am not sure what it means but its pretty interesting (sorry for bad english)

'대취타' is a Korean traditional music played in Joseon Dynasty when there is a great occasion such as when the army marches or when 'the KING' goes out of the gate. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SCAR ON THE FACE:
in Korea, a person with a scar on his face was not allowed to become king. The scar at Suga shows his power not only over all, but also over kings.
The scar also shows the difficult path that Suga walked from slave status to king.
Love it
Thank you for educating!
omggg wooow
I highly doubt that's true, do you have any proof?
@@yokubo7220 uhhh don't have any links but research about it. This is already a very prominent knowledge among Koreans. Both kings and queens should not have a scar on their body or they won't inherit the throne unless they are powerful enough to overthrow a kingdom. This is where suga's scar comes in. The fact that he stood there even with a scar means that he is powerful enough to assassinate everyone and get that throne. Same story is also depicted from a kdrama called Scarlest Heart Ryeo where second prince wang so of goryeo dynasty became a king despite having a scar on his face. He also killed his brother/s (?) in order to do so

Daechwita is a traditional Korean music style, it's played when army go to war. So I think that this whole song is talking about him having two sides to him, fighting his badder side.Aswell as becoming more dangerous at the same time? Idk but the lyrics sure do sound rlly fireee xD.
LMAO, that's what I thought as well until I heard his other songs in his mixtape. I think its' actually a battle of two sides from himself one from his past when he was a man from Daegu with no riches but dreams and resilience (going against the higher-ups and creating riots against them for justice) and his present self who's rich with 'big houses, big cars and big rings' being the supervillain now that he has everything he wants and needs, basically they're fighting themselves as the AGUST D with his 6 friends (representing BTS members)is trying to keep his other self grounded (the king) so when his past self killed the king in charge, who was an unjust ruler because with all the power coming to his head he wanted it to show that he's planted himself to his roots 'Korean' and he isn't gonna stray away from who he really he is and where he came from and he is grateful and unselfish whilst many other idols have failed in doing that with all the popularity and riches that come from being an idol they forget their past selves
it's like Shadow when they had two different basses/tones when rapping/singing against each other
but then again this is just a theory
I’ve watch the mv so many times and just realized today there are cut off heads in bags hanging from the emperor’s balcony. Suga is insane and love him. 🤪💕
Pronounced “August D”. The song was who he used to be (cruel, selfish, greedy. He grew up poor, had to fight, and became all these negative things) fighting against who he became (humble, kind, and honest but fierce at everything he does. He became the humble king). The gun he used to shoot who he used to be (the “king” character) is called an Army (which is what he also calls his fans) so essentially he killed who he used to be with the Army (his fans) and has made it as the kind and humble king. The true kind. Daechwita means a traditional Korean song/cadence that’s played to announce the Kings arrival.

Miwhaksiwhahan this is so good
this is the best reaction ever YA'LL SO HILARIOUS
Okay so i found this on twitter and wanted to share..
K ARMY said, the real king was the black haired Yoongi, since his scar was completely healed. while the blonde yoongi is just pretending to be him. (seems he got the scar recently) reason why the guy (who almost beheaded him), gave the gun to kill the fake king.
And that the movie is based on an actual movie called maquerade, about a king who hired someone who look like him to do some kind of politic thingy but clashed on each other instead. Also the king's name in that movie is Gwanghae just like what the lyric mentioned in the verse "berserk tiger gwanghae flow"
There is also a theory:
This is a story about someone who becomes so engrossed in the
world of fame and riches that they start to see their lifestyle as
self-evident and lose the connection to what it truly means to be
a human person. Even more so, they lost the connection to
themselves to the point of one internal personality tries to kill
the other. The King, who has lost touch with humanity as he lives
in his palace, ordering the Non-king, who lives down in the
village amongst, and surrounded by, the people, to be
beheaded.
This is especially clear from 2:43 onwards, where we change to
the blindfolded convict, the Non-king, who shows that he is
aware of his situation by saying "here comes the reality check"
(2:52). It would make sense for the King to want to behead the
Non-king, as the latter poses a threat to the King's high-horse
position (who is literally depicted at a higher level from 1:44
onwards).
They are, in essence, two sides of the same coin: both deflecting
the haters that criticise them, but the King wants their heads
(which is a feeling we all perhaps have encountered before,
when confronted with someone who we really can't stand), while
the Non-king aims at simple letting them "cry him a river" (2:41),
i.e. ignoring the haters. Since the latter is not what the King
wants, his thumb goes down, and in the next seen we're met
with the Non-king in bounds, ready to be beheaded.
The big twist, and in my opinion one of the biggest messages in
this narrative, however, comes at the end, where the Non-king
gets his ropes cut off instead of his head (possibly because the
man ordered to kill him also wanted to be freed from the
shackes of the tyrannical King). The Non-king is able to turn the
tables on the King. The Non-king takes the gun and shoots the
King; killing the ignorant, tyrannical part of himself.
In short: it's a story about overcoming the sweet temptations
that fame and riches bring, and staying true to your values as a
person, not a King.
Also in his first mixtape he said that Suga « killed » Yoongi and he feels like he became a monster because he kinda lost his values and the purpose of why he became an artist so here he finally took over the throne by killing the old agust d.
And another theory that was prove correct from the behind the scenes
That was is the blonde haired yoongi was his past self, (2016 Agust D)..
if we look at the song “Burn It”, yoongi talks about wanting to burn his past self- and in the MV we see yoongi shoot his other version, (or his past)
Again this theory is from twitter and i just want to share so you guys can see-- i dont take any credits from this.
So I tried to do some research on what Deachwita means after the mv came out and found out that it was a form of music that used horns and traditional drums in the King's Court. So Deachwita is Korean Court music.
It's basically he saying he is playing royal music
tória I mean he is a long descendents of Korea’s empress so he is a descendent of a royal
@@codmouse13 perfect for King Yoongi
Soo I found that it means "Walk of the King"
isn't daechwita is korean military music??
“Who is suga?!” “It’s him but not him” 😂 😂
blonde one is Agust d of 2016 and black haired one is new Agust d who dethroned old one. daechwita is the music playing when king comes so its like play daechwita louder cuz theres new king in town. GENIUS
*trying to understand*
*head*
"THAT IS THE HEAD"
"he is a killer"
Suga be radiating that King energy throughout this whole video
Ik 😌He has his clans blood running through his veins

I can’t be the only one who thinks he’s fighting his old self right?
Edit: I think?!
YES, that moment i saw that blond hair immediately bring back the OG agust D and now he has black hair so this is the new him, i dont know the meaning but i guess its something like that
That's my thought too,
Read the lyrics, the answer is right there. He said it, 'i achieved everything i wanted, there's nowhere higher, now it's time to step on the ground again'
@@lovely_beca Blond Yoongi is the yoongi who has power and money, Black haired Yoongi killed the blond yoongi because he doesn't want to lose his self for power.
AgustD has to kill the King that represents him now as he has achieved his dream like living in a palace (big house) being the king people bow to him everytime he goes out etc. He wants to remain the peasant AgustD and be grounded and humble and still remain a king in his own way. Side note at the start of the market scene were Sugar was with a, group of guys i believe the one on his right was JHope wearing his bucket hat and his signature dance. And the two guys fighting was Jin and Jungkook fighting like Tom and Jerry. Jin was holding a fishing rod. I dont know we're was RM Jimmin and V was lol or maybe busy getting drunk. This mv is really lit and I believe that's were everybody agrees. Cheers.
5:02 In Joseon, there was a rule that anyone has a scar can't be the KING..but YOONGI DID
D GIRl what was the reason behind it? Just curious.
where can I read the story pls?
Oh ya..i knew this from kdrama..scarlet heart..
@@ayushipandey5621 i think it's bc he is not supposed to have all this success, everyone told him that he can't do it BUT HE'S A KING NOW
OMG I DIDNT CATCH THAT- bruh you’re so smart, that’s so cool, I forgot about this scar thing
That man wearing pink wiping his face as soon as Suga acted like spitting... I'm rolling on floor😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yoongi looks and sounds so powerful in that MV it burned all of my eyebrows off
Lets see if they catch jin and jk in the back throwing hands lmao
lmao i was waiting for that
Literally waiting for that. Hahaha
Well they did lol
My friend told me her theory:
Joseon King Yoongi is his current self, achieving all his goals, yet his personality had changed. The black-haired yoongi is his past self; poor, naive, and more like a "slave".
Slave yoongi was tied up and bestowed upon Joseon King Yoongi, and the blindfold represents him not giving in to the temptation, he remembers how he started. That's why he shot the king, to represent that he will never lose his own self and never ba tainted by fame and money.
Joseon King Yoongi wanted to behead Slave Yoongi but he failed. That represents that he will not be affected by the negativity of the present since he's been through it before. And he fell to the ground and back up representing he will never gives up. ( Just wanted to share in case it's true lol. )
Ooooh shit, that gave me goosebumps! That theory is hella sick. Tell your friend she has a badass mind. Damn that is some genius thoughts right there.
I agree. And it goes well with the narrative he shows in Interlude: Shadow
That is a really good theory that your friend came up with and I was thinking the same thing about his past self and his current self.
this is so on point, especially seeing how in one part he goes on to say "i achieved everything i wanted, there's nowhere higher, now it's time to step on the ground again." he's showing how despite having all this fame and money, he's not going to let it get to his head. he remains grounded, humble, and will stay true to his past self
i love this!
“my adrenaline bro i need to punch something” MOOD 😂
Your commentary and reactions are LIFE! So much craziness and passion, just what we need for a reaction video 😂🔥
The fact y’all thought of China before Korea is lowkey disappointing when he’s a Korean artist 😂
I'm trying not to "overreact" Apart from that the video was awesome and I love theor reactions
But China 😅 This type of architecture isn't only in China
Dude I’m not even Korean and I low key got triggered when they said that😑 I felt like I was watching a period K drama the whole MV and they are like “China”🤦🏻♀️ but anyways they still got hype AF and love SUGA so I’ll give them that....🤷🏻♀️
FACTSSSSS
Korean culture, language have a lot of Chinese traditions, words etc. So I that’s why guys said this and cause emotions, first reaction

Just wanted to say Yoongi's family is related to one of the Empress of Korea. He is a descendant of the last Korean Empress. Yoongi literally is royalty. V and Jin also 😁✌
@@cloud_9429 v and jin are connected with royal blood ..... I have read it how but I forget...its not because there last name is kim they actually are related ....(for namjoons cause no he is not related )
Well, one of her brothers probably but yes. Technically he is but not directly. She had no grandchildren.
Isnt RM, Jin, and V part of the royal blood line??? Pls correct me if I'm wrong
@@xionstevens4955 not RM but Jin and tae are
Wait huh
Explanation of the music video storyline:
So basically for the duration of the video Suga is presented in two ways: powerful emperor and commoner. In both characters he has this scar on his face: in traditional Korean culture a visible scar represents disgrace and is a sign of poverty or commonplace. This shows that, although he comes from a small town and a poor family, he has still made it to the top through pure talent and hard work. In the last scene, the “commoner” Suga takes the gun and kills the emperor Suga. This is basically showing that he is taking the place of the emperor who tried to behead him (aka people who told him he would never be successful and mocked him for trying to make it) and instead ended up beating them (killing the emperor) and becoming the best. So at the end the emperor represents people who used to be above him who tried to stop him from becoming what he is today. Hope this helped!
woahh
Daechwita is the term for traditional war music in Korea which mostly consisted of percussion instruments, it’s one of the reasons behind why he uses so much percussion in the beat.
