- Watch the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Flipped trailer!
The Fortnite Island has been flipped and a new one has been revealed.
Due to a particularly cold winter, the first thing you’ll notice about the Island is that the western half’s a wintry biome. Perhaps stop by the suburban Greasy Grove, the industrial Logjam Lumberyard, and other locales.
Like warmer weather? To the east are the tropics, with coastal keys, palm trees, and weathered sights to see. Although The Seven have outposts all throughout the Island, the tropics are home to their home, the “Sanctuary.” This compound is right next to the coast, where you can get a clear view of the colossal rock statue of The Foundation. And speaking of colossal, the towering, web-covered Daily Bugle building is also in the area.
Like even warmer weather? In the south you can find the desert (some of it decorated in snow), but this desert isn’t barren on interesting places. Go off-road racing at Chonker’s Speedway, revel in cozy living at Condo Canyon, and something that will wet even the driest eyes, “come on down” to the returning Butter Barn.
A fresh slate of weapons awaits you on the Island. Here’s a rundown of what’s new!
Ranger Assault Rifle
Made for distance! The Ranger Assault Rifle is forceful at medium range and quite capable at long range.
MK-Seven Assault Rifle
Built from The Seven’s technology, the MK-Seven Assault Rifle is a medium- to long-range weapon with a high rate of fire. This Assault Rifle has a sight you can use while aiming. Align your target with the sight’s red dot!
If you want something even better, confront The Foundation for a special version of the MK-Seven Assault Rifle, sporting a slightly faster fire rate.
Striker Pump Shotgun
The Striker Pump Shotgun shoots a whole lot of pellets and boasts high burst damage. Aim… then strike!
Auto Shotgun
An automatic ally that lays down some serious firepower. The Auto Shotgun may not deal as much damage as the Striker Pump per shot, but it has a faster fire rate and reloads two shells at a time.
Stinger SMG
Appropriately named, the Stinger SMG deals high damage to both opponents and structures. It stings at medium range more than one may expect!
Sidearm Pistol
A trusty weapon to have by your side, the Sidearm Pistol is an accurate weapon that deals high damage at medium range and high headshot damage at close range. Don’t underestimate it!
Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper
The Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper deals high damage and can shoot three shots per clip. Get a second chance if you don’t land your shot the first time! (And a third... just in case.)
Play Fortnite Battle Royale, the completely free 100-player PvP mode. One giant map, A Battle Bus, Last one standing wins. ESRB Rating: Teen with Violence.

Yeah, the first 2 seasons of Chapter 3 were the last seasons they put a ton of effort. Ever since Chapter 3 season 3 they seemed to put Consistency over Quality.
Don't get me wrong. I love Chapter 4, but mainly for the beginning of season updates. Middle of season updates seem like Epic is putting "Just enough" rather than using their full potential.
This season really had it all. A map with variety and great landscapes, fun gameplay and items (Spidey Mythics), Cool Mechanics (tents, victory crowns.), great movement, fun weapons, a great battle pass, a good seasonal event, great graphics. Man, take me back.
I mean this season pretty much has better versions of all of that (besides seasonal events)

This chapter was too short. I personally loved every season of it, from seasons 1 to 4.
The fact that this is now considered nostalgic is insane to me. Goodbye Artemis, you shall be missed.
Glad someone else is with me in that ch3 wasn’t even that bad. I think the reason the latter half was even considered “dry” was probably because they had already started working on 4, which was a huge mistake tbh.

It warms my heart seeing people coming back to this to say their early goodbyes to Chapter 3 and revisiting where it all started. S2 was the most fitting one for me as an OG COD player but S1 just had it all: The loot pool was good, good map changes, not a too long season, Klombos, web shooters, The Foundation as the strongest boss (most health) in Fortnite history and the whole concept of having an entire IO base as an POI was great with Covert Cavern, which has been my favourite POI through out the chapter. My only complaint has been the missed opportunities with the mythics. We could've used The Foundation's and Gunnar's powers as mythics. But it made sense to just give them weapons since S2 was all about war and it would be out of place to have mythics during the season. This was my personal favourite chapter and I'm sad to see it go already but guess this is the most logical ending to this chapter. But let's not let nostalgia blind us and try to enjoy Chapter 4 while it lasts.

It’s been a year since this came out. It felt like yesterday. Definitely in my top 3 seasons of all time. It’s hard to believe we didn’t even have a full year on this map, we were only a day off. I hope we’ll all have fun in chapter 4.

It is amazing! I personally recommend it! And the matchmaking feels more balanced too, idk how that happened but I got in the top 10 many times today and even won a game! And the new POI's are brilliant, even some OG ones are back (the legendary "Shifty Shafts" made its return 🥲). But the best thing is that, currently, weaponry is limited at a total number of just 7 different weapons, since it's the start of a new Chapter! So, no player has a major advantage in firing rounds!
I hadn't touched this game since December 2020! It felt even more dissapointing at some point that Epic only foccused on colabs. But they made up for it last Season of Chapter 2, where the map was hot, steamy ass (just like in season X) and nailed it with the release of the new one, plus, the lore of the timeline of the game actually makes sense again!

For anyone who reads this, I want to explain why this map is already so much better than the last one. The reason why the Chapter 1 map was so good was because it was designed for the way Fortnite feels. Fortnite has a very specific moveset, speed, gunplay, and artistic style to it. Every area in Chapter 1 fit all of these degrees, meaning it felt fun to play in and go around, it felt like the Fortnite player melded with environment well. Chapter 2's map wasn't great because it felt like the locations were designed for a different game; a lot more huge open fields, a less packed map, and even the poi's felt built for a different game, maybe a COD game. And, finally, one of the worst parts of the Chapter 2 map is that the magical vibe was completely cut out. The first map felt like a Disney theme park, lots of completely different places mixed together in very tight spaces, so walk in any direction for a bit and you end up in a completely different place. Chapter 3 has gotten that feeling, and everything that Chapter 1 got right. Plus, the new mechanics such as sliding and red dot sights adds an extra bit of life into the game. Also, the upcoming mechanics such as the weather system is probably going to breathe even more life into the game, and overall, I think Epic has knocked it completely out of the park.

I’m not gonna lie, Season 1 was very good in my opinion. Fresh start, not too crazy stuff in the game, Web-Slingers, and a good battle pass in my opinion.
And Klombo :) can’t forget him.
Felt like I was playing almost prime chapter 1 again. I had such a blast that season. Minimalistic, but tons of fun. I quit c1 s7, and returned just for the new chapter 3. I definitely didn't regret it. Quit after though unfortunately, got boring pretty quick, but I appriciated the great season of chapter 3 season1 whilst it lasted

Damn, I really miss this season. Chapter 3 Season 1 really was a fresh new feel for the game and to me really was my favourite time to play and grind the game… And that’s coming from someone who’s been playing Fortnite since Chapter 1 Season 1.

Goodbye Chapter 3, honestly an amazing set of seasons no matter what people say. Most of my friends had quit during Chapter 2 and I found myself getting bored playing by myself during those seasons, but this brought my friends back. See you guys in Chapter 4!
