I've never understood why squatters have any rights to begin with.
An old settler's law. People would build them move on and new settlers live in home.

It should take law enforcement about 3 minutes to determine ownership of any property. One goes to sleep the other goes to JAIL. VERY SIMPLE

Squatting is a bad thing when you're taking landlords apartments and houses that are in good condition that are in between rents. Then it's theft. The worst level of threat I can think of. And that's what these people are doing. It's not meant to steal people's usable properties.

Thank you, Governor DeSantis. I used to be a homeowner, and I cannot imagine someone having more rights than me in my property. Currently, things turned upside down for me so, I now live in a van, however, I am still a moral person and would NOT think of intruding into someone's private property to live there as a squatter.
I hope you have a safe place to park and sleep. Seems like they made a law recently that people can't sleep in their cars in most places. I'm not sure of where but it seemed very restrictive and cruel.

That is the first time I've heard anyone who actually knows how the "squatter's rights" law got started. They've let it evolve into a license to steal your property and even kick you out of your own home. This should be made illegal in all 50 states and should have been a very long time ago. This type of stuff has gone on for many decades and does great harm to a lot of people. It should be brought to the forefront. I personally know how much it can damage a person's finances just to have one squatter in a rental property.
It's been illegal since the Bill ofRights and US Constitution was ratified. Other states (blue Marxist) don't follow the laws.

The current market/economy is unnecessarily tougher for boomers/senior citizens, I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

A case in NY, guy bought a house, made one payment, lived there for over 20 years. Never made another payment, the property was sold twice with the squatter in it and as far as I know has never been removed!

What the Governor said about predators coming to your house is a good reason to outlaw location permissions on apps and devices. The only companies that needs it is the line service provider.

My husband and I were renting a house and the family paid rent once or twice, then stopped. We had to pay thousands of dollars and months later to get them evicted. Only to see the house damaged inside. It should never take months to years to retrieve your own property.
