The lion is one of the big cats in the Felidae family and a member of genus Panthera. It has been listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List since 1996, as populations in African range countries declined by about 43% since the early 1990s. Lion populations are untenable outside designated protected areas. Although the cause of the decline is not fully understood, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are the greatest causes of concern. The West African lion population is listed as Critically Endangered since 2016.

The social structure of Lion prides is fascinating and elaborate. Virtually everything they do is geared towards future success and continuity of the species. The very fact the males only rule for 2-3 years before they move on or are killed is geared towards varying the gene pool. Incredible
well ALL ANIMALS ARE THE SAME in this respect. THE MOST INCREDIBLE OF ALL - ANTS.

@Keep it real a lot of valid points and observations BUT it's not incredibly uncommon for a male lion to kill his brother's cubs. ESPECIALLY if he is the alpha male. AND if the cubs are from a neighboring pride. With the amount of territory those brothers covered, there were likely multiple prides they ruled over. They would therefore treat some of those females and cubs the same as they would if they had come across complete, unrelated strangers.
Milo is the luckiest lion cub in the world I swear he sees every face of danger and he somehow doesn’t die lol 😂
@Shadowtiger
“I laugh in the face of danger, HaHaHa!” - Simba
@April Canhi right right "The Misfit" was so sad but he actually survived
Maybe he is simba but in really life
He's the main character after all
I hope Milo lives long so that some day he will have his own pride 🙏🏽
Im pretty sure I watched another documentary how grown Milo was introduced to a pride of 7 ladies who were in captivity for awhile. And Milo was alone and didn't like people, so that's why they chose him. Plus he's gorgeous!
Same
we wait for the continue for how he will do.
He'll be the bully of the new born cubs for awhile lol.
It was the best lion documentary I have ever seen. The love between parent and child, the harsh reality of pride, and the bond between them, all realistically portrayed, kept me glued to the screen.
just imagine the amount of effort it must have taken to create such a wonderful documentary
Great documentary on Lions! I love all the great wild cats. When I observe my cat Vincent I witness thousands of years of nature's development. When he's in the backyard and he spots a squirrel he crouches down in the grass he begins to advance slowly always keeping his eyes on the prey. Now I'm cheering for the squirrel because Vincent's survival doesn't depend on this kill but I allow it to play out because this is Vincent's nature. Watching the great cats fight everyday to survive and observing our domestic cats are incredible. I wish there was a part 2 where we follow Milo to adulthood and see him head his on pride.
I really loved this documetary. I am very happy Milo survived and the affection from all the lions returned to him.
@Karl Roy Lu jag är du
No comments fix that
No matter how hard the situation is but the bond between mother and child never ends ❤
That is a truly great thing to say!
Cozzz..She love u for (in)Finityyy
@shiya OMG.. I just watched that video..thank u for recommending it..it's fabulous and breathtaking with every minute..I didn't even feel the time passing by!..it was full of events, fear and anxiety with every minute..both lionesses were very brave in tackling both of the alpha lions. The first one escaped with the cubs and took the risk when she took on the responsibility of protecting and feeding the eight cubs on her own! even when she was badly injured! The other one followed them later.. Although what they did was contrary to the lion pride, the two lionesses acted according to their own ideas and left the lion pride!
even when the surprise occurred and the two dangerous lions suddenly appeared, the two sisters continued to protect the cubs and they distracted "flirted with" the two lions and formed a new lion pride with the two lions who sought to kill their cubs! and perhaps also kill the two lionesses, just to protect the eight cubs!..EPIC! What a heroic deed.. many lionesses abandon their cubs in situations like this to save their own life..but these two lionesses sacrificed everything...I was so afraid that their efforts would be in vain but thankfully they and their cubs survived in the end...really wonderful.. the best Lion Pride documentary so far! Thanks again for mentioning that documentary..
@Frank Truth its trueeee not all lionesses abandon their cubs, there's a documentary here in youtube titled "Lioness in Exile" go give that a watch. The eldest lioness and her sister did not submit to the new males of the pride to raise their cubs and send them off before the new males of the pride could kill them.
@Evan Charles yes
Milo reminds me of Misfit's story. Both Cubs were rejected but they defied the odds and grew into a strong alpha male. 🦁👑
Omg when she grabs Milo across the river bend made me cry mother’s love is incredible
Am appreciating Milo and Misfit's story's too, how they defied the odds. Nice to watch the lions on this channel.
@Rosalie Jadulco yip...you're right
I thought milo was misfit lol so its two different lions.. They look exactly the same, i was convinced i would be able to tell the difference 😂
I teared up when Milo is treated so badly he goes into hiding. So sad! 😭😭
yessssss
Me too😢😢 poor Milo😭😭
Me too. It’s heartbreaking!
@Mason Finley bs
Lions aren’t too bright.
I am so happy for the young lion. My heart goes out to the lions pride.
Such a beautiful, heart touching documentary. Lion cubs life ain’t easy
Milo ur a strong boy... One day you will be a king 👑...
Hopefully but far from guaranteed with no brothers
Mailo:- Thank you my human brother 🙏
Milo will soon be a king in deed. He's passed through a lot.
Beautiful 😻
@Leomnis hippos too
@Leomnis Also Jaguar because of their string jaws just like the saber tooth tiger
Very😘
There's such intensity in their lives, and in their eyes... Their experience of the world is incredibly strong, they constantly have to fear death and their social bond are so
Чудный мир. Спасибо тех людей, которые снимали такой интересный фильм.
50 minutes of my precious life was
well wasted.
Thank you for this master piece.
Very well written-
Couldn’t have picked a more soothing and most beautiful voice to narrate such brilliant production.
God bless you all.❤️
wasted? u mean well spent? hahah
I was STRESSED when milo had to cross the river🙀
same here
Me to!
@E.B. admit defeat my boy.. 😂😂😂
@Carolina Bass Hunter 😂😂👏👏😂😂😂
@Your Uncle's Mailmam f o
Poor little man! I don’t know if I can continue watching. I love Lions so much, but the brutality of their wild lives makes me really sad, it brings me to tears .really! I can relate to them with all of my heart❤️
Not different than humans really.
I agree I have to get use that this is natural for them but it’s still sad ❤️💯
Nothing but breathing the air of Africa, and actually walking through it, can communicate the indescribable sensations 😍i really enjoyed watching your video
Milo is such a cute baby with his little high pitch roars. We need a “the adventures of milo” cartoon 😍
Yeah you are right . I love you . You are so gorgeous
someone anyone animate this plz
We need to see that your right Milo I love u
Great idea
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 have a good day 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Great documentary! Just one critique if I may? Please try not to personify the lions so much, I honestly started to believe for a moment that the lioness was a horrible mother that hated her own cub. These are wild animals and there are certain things they need to be taught from very young ages, or they WILL perish. She risked her own skin to against a croc to help coax her cub along. She did a great job and he learned an important lesson about staying with the pride and why to keep moving in a foreign body of water
The river crossing sequence had more tension and anticipation than anything Hollywood has put out in years.
Thanks for this stunning documentary on majestic Lions. May Wildlife thrive!
A great documentary about lions especially for tracking down a pride in particular and not just a general information about lions.
I was literally on edge when milo was crossing the river, thank god his mother came to his aide. Thank you
I watched half of this on TV then came here to see if I could find a full documentary, this is so fascinating, the social life of lions is almost close to that of us humans, some takes, Milo's bravely, no feminism mindset for lionesses, etc... I loved this :)
@Leila💕 You guys get that these are lions right? We don't act like lions we are different species.
You know that hyenas live in matriarchal societies, leopards live alone, plenty of animals have different kinds of social life, though you decided that lions (felines) are a great example of how human societies should be.
Not saying their good or bad, just humans are WILDLY different animals and we can think like no other species can, lions can't even grasp the concept of feminism.
"No feminism mindset for lionesses" yeah, man..thank God that I woke up from the nightmare of "WOKE" early and did not fall into the feminist mire, and not being blind as other women..I mean .we have really gone too far..and this is not in the interest of women, nor society, nor anyone..these lionesses have already done "what females are supposed to do"... reuniting the family in hard times when everything seems to fall apart. I just hope that we women remember that our strengths are in what we're "already" made for..We are very good at doing things that fit and strengthen our NATURE, not in revolting against what we are already made for! We connect families and we are the source of tenderness, and this brings us happiness to see our families happy and safe and we never give up the ties.. It is our lovely job to preserve them. We are very good at it "THESE ARE OUR THINGS"... and just like these lionesses we also work hard and professionally, but alone we will not be able to continue..NO one really can. I hope young women will remember this..
Amo i felini X la loro bellezza; ma ammiro il leone X il suo
coraggio , la sua forza ,la sua potenza fisica,e per la sua regalita' questo capolavoro della natura ,merìta di essere il re.❤❤❤
This came with a whole lotta adrenalin rush......Kept me on the edge of my seat but ended beautifully! And Milo is the cutest cub. So sad for the loss of Poppy.
Started tearing up during this documentary. Milo is so precious 🥺🥺🥺
Through their river crossing, creates a beautiful story. Even us humans, sometimes when put to trials of life restores our humility towards one another. I believe God is the one Who designed such beauty.
@brandy alexandre amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.
It is the Lord indeed. God bless
Even though I know the outcome, I still cry over this documentary. I hope anyone reading this will also or have watched the lion misfit.
I was scared for Milo but he’s so brave. I’m glad he made it thru
I think it’s so awesome how they keep it in the family how they stick together n make a big family
17:30 so strange because when the dreamer was the only cub left, the entire pride doted on him. The Misfit befriended him and his mother mourned the Dreamer deeply
that was such a heart warming story of that pride
Very interesting n informative story of Milo n his pride. Enjoyed the narration. The struggles n triumps! Kudos for vid. New subscriber because of this vid. Anticipating ur next one.
We are blessed to have such majic places which are protected for wildlife. Having driven down from Malawi to South.Africa a privilege to have spent time in most parks and seen the efforts to protect the wildlife. Will be in Pilanesberg in S.A next week for 10 days, was there from 1st June until 15th . Taking grandchildren from 8th - 18th July now school holidays.
Lion is one animal, I can watch them 24/7. So beautiful.
Cats! I mean facts.
Yeah yeah peepz Dunkno family oioi x
Ohhh me too, I just love ❤️ them. 🙌🔥🙏❤️🦁
Very beautiful documentary
Glad cute little Mylo survived and got the love he deserved from his family
I enjoyed it thank u for sharing🙏💕💕
Beautiful. Very well done. Amazing camera work and narration.
This is a real movie and the strong little one Milo was the starring role on track.
Real life lesson, real enjoyed to watch this.🦁💪🏾
Am I the only one who got emotional after Mopane finally rekindled with Milo? Trying so hard not to cry tears of joy! 😭❤️😭❤️😭❤️😭
This documentary is great I can tell you worked hard next time please make a lion documentary as a cub grows to full adult and it overcame all the challenges
of life
Humans don't know animals as well as we believe we do...Maybe they're trying to toughen Milo up a bit.
That's what I was thinking! Lol maybe its not abuse
True. This could be it. Understand he lost his playmate maybe they said he needs to get used to be alone. He better hope some males in the next litter so he can form a coalition lol
I totally agree
Thats just African life.
This vunerable little cub loosing the only sibling he has & probably seen her demise, is lucky enough to be found by mother but something happens & mother is not loving her cub anymore, this poor cub finds he has no one to protect him, he hides in the thicket, this broke my heart & tears streaming down my face, I wondered how will he survive.. the day came, & changed everything.. Whoo-hoo, I was so happy for little Milo!!
The way this documentary was made is truly remarkable, congratulations on a beautiful heartfelt Documentary. 😍🙌🏼🫶👏👏👏

Even animals have their own struggles!
That's LIFE!
Lmao fr tho
"Even" ? Bro, animals were struggling even before the start of human kind
Beautiful doco… spectacular photography nuanced narration … incredible natural beauty
I literally cried for milo but then my tears turned into happiness ❤️ 🦁
Wow, you learn something new every day! For instance, I did not know that lions name themselves. Fascinating creatures. And just how did these people know all their names?? These guys are good. :)
@Ashly Ritter great thinking mr obvious.
No the people observing them names the lions
😂😂😂😂😂
Such an amazing documentary ! Seeing Milo left behind at the river was the most emotional scene... He's super cute
Watching this warms my heart
Milo has the bravery and sign of a King.
I’ve Never Heard of male lions leaving a huge pride like that to go find another? Does anyone know exactly why they did that?!
They said after 2 or so years the males usually leave to find another pride and start a new family, and the 3males already been in that pride for 1.5 years so maybe that’s why. Im not entirely sure tho.
This one is the best documentary about lions, and their Family System Well done Guys ❤️🩹
Beautiful documentary. Thank you so much.
The voice is so soothing yet exhilarating. I watched with wide 👀 and hope for baby milo...I’m so happy that milos perseverance got him back in the pack, he will become a strong leader one day
Damn if the 9 lioness could have like 3 or 4 cubs each the pride could be massive
Every second of this documentary is overwhelming. Indeed lion is beautiful creature❤️❤️
damn that is badass they all knew the score , not sure if going up the tree was totally right thing but it worked out this time, and Mohawk and female also both knew that they needed to hang out awhile to make sure the message got thru, amazing
Most beautiful documentary of lions I've ever watched ❤️
Best lion documentary I've ever seen 👏, loved this video as lions are my favourite animal's, wicked 👊😎🦁
The Moral of the story is for the two Males is that the grass is not always greener on the other side(the Hollywood sisters were playing them) back too Milo the young son you left behind with no one to play with, at least now he has younger cousins on the way to to show the ropes and to share his stories. A lion's roar is such an amazing sound.
To Gillian Burke I go out of my way to find out which Documentary's you are Narrating I truly enjoy the way you make me pay more attention to any particular Lion documentary hope you do a lot more of them Thank you ❤️
Milo had me so stressed out over here. Sheesh!
Edit: It sucks being a single mom. Props to his mom for _remembering_ him in his time of need.
Such a brave child MILO❤️😘 What a happy ending!:)
Yes He did
I almost cries for Milo, poor baby everyone wanted to abandon him!
I really felt 4that cub.Milo
is no one else crying about how they were bullying milo then just left him
lion is creature nature
I cried and idky this is their nature but my goodness 😔
agreed, i know theyre just trying to teach how hard it’ll be to live as a male lion but cmon, lunging at him non-stop when he’s only a cub is sad
I need the second part of this pride
Wow I can’t believe all this happened in a WEEK!
Right 😂😂😂
Thank you for this ❤️ beautiful documentary of this beautiful animals 🥰
They really went over there just like “you still gotta pay child support”
😂😂😂😂
😂
This is probably the most wholesome / crazy documentary ive ever watched, Second time re watching it rn
If you African and grown up around lion the lion is part of you 🦁
My heart was not ready for this. When he crossed that river alone, BRUH I WAS ON EDGE!
This is an interesting documentary from a production standpoint but there’s a lot of incorrect and/or misleading information.
Thanks for sharing anyway.
Omg they are just too freaking cute. I wish we could live in harmony with all animals and reptiles!
Loved the documentary. May young Milo live long & prosper. #SaveTheLions 🦁
What a video & narration..we felt we too are one of the lions in that group and felt those challengs
I really liked it. It was the best documentary I've ever seen and I like lions!
This story was beutifull I started crying and family is everything the cub needed and family is why you are alive
seriously, can't they just like leave one lioness there to guard them? Like how many lions and lionesses does it take to get prey?
@Edrigangr well said
@B19999 These were your words, quoted verbatim :: "Okay what I dont get is male lions don't hunt , and in tik tok comments people said that they needed the males to protect them while the females went hunting"
First you jump to conclusions that male lions don't hunt, then you yourself mention tik tok as a source of info and make it part of your argument.
Then you claim you're a full grown adult but you throw a temper tantrum of a 2yo when you get called on your inaccuracies.
It's ok to drink the koolaid, it's not ok to preach the koolaid.
This is the Internet, don't post if you don't want to get called on it.
@Edrigangr okay wow uhm your talking to a full grown adult who's read multiple books and wat hes documentaries way before tiktok . I just saw this one on there and decided to watch it . You can shove it
@Edrigangr yes I did but then in other documentaries they say they don't, and even in this one the male took the lioness gazelle
Beautiful story well crafted great job to the team
Very emotional documentary 😭❤
The demeanor of a lion 🦁 is why I am here❤️
Milo will become the strongest leader leading his cousins as the older Male, him and his cousins will continue the Pride. His mother never forgot about him.
My country is blessed 🇿🇲
Feels great watching the kings life style in the Wild 🙏
Milos decision making skill was superb,it was very bold decision 👏👏
We need a second part please
I can't believe I watched this whole thing...on edge!!! I was yelling at my screen and everything. Run Milo, run!!! 😣😣😣 My anxiety is on 100 right now! I need a Pepsi. 😣
😂
😂😂😂
I'm drinking one right now while watching this video 🤣😆
@MrsCash Morrisey lmao that made me laugh too
LOL..."I need a Pepsi".
That was an amazing documentary
My respect for the cameramans🙂
Cameramen*
One of the best documentaries I have seen in a long time
Great Documentary 💓👍
Thank You..For Sharing it..💓🙏
I know I wasn't the only one cheering Milo on during that river crossing! I think I got a few gray hairs when Milo stopped in the middle of the river!
The lioness seeks responsibility to the male lions. What an effort.
Power of pride 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌
