My son met Carrie when they both attended NSU. He was a fan of hers from then before hearing her sing. He plays and sings also but was very shy to even speak publicly, as is his brother, when he was younger. We all started watching Idol because of Carrie. Her Christianity is very important to us and many fans.

The night Carrie Underwood won American Idol, I had voted for her 500 times! She was so down to earth and was not full of herself as some of the contestants were and she was not sure she was going to win. I have noticed that usually the contestants who say they know they are going to win, turn out to have no talent at all and usually get voted out of the competition the first night, if they even make it past the judges' audition. Carrie said she HOPED she did well. Gotta love that sort of humble attitude. I said that I voted for her 500 times and her career since Idol has proven that my confidence in her was not misplaced. The girl ain't hard to look at either! She is a beautiful woman and she has a beautiful voice and she has a beautiful attitude and a strong character. What's not to love?

Having British announcers was bizarre and off-putting. Especially their use of the term 'All American' which is classist and only pertains to a certain race. Other than that, it was an interesting documentary.
Many may not know that even in asia, some parts of it at least, love Country music. Like the Cordillera region and some parts of Visayas in the Philippines. I grew up listening to the traditional country sound but was very welcoming to country pop, country rock and the likes. I pretty much adored Carrie Underwood ever since A.I not just because of her talent but how humble and grounded she is as a person.

I remember when this season aired and they aren’t being honest. She actually got a lot of criticism for being boring. Not only during the show but wayyy before she was even picked as a finalist. Her mother was also a momager, who got her where she was.

Country music radio people never encounter a fan base that Carrie had. Radio people wanted Carrie's fan base, definitely yes, but without Carrie, and her fan base said absolutely not. If you want the fan base, you must take Carrie along with it. Radio people were trying desperately trying to figure out not to take Carrie. When "Some Hearts went blockbuster album. Radio realized they no had option but to take Carrie.
