The back up dancers are actually experiencing the intense choreography. Just look at how many times they flip their hair, crawl, bend and get back up. They're like breaking their bones.
plus they have masks on. it's pretty difficult to breathe with masks on, especially while doing such intense choreography

Fact: backup dancers are almost as important as the idol(s) themselves
I think gidle's knows that and respect them very much

Tbh I think the idols/groups know that, but the fans always drool over the idols themselves, the amount of times I've stopped watching the idol/artist and started pausing and re-playing the same part over and over to watch all the backup dancers. Not to take anything away from the Idols, but often times the backup dancers are ALSO killing it and don't get any respect from viewers/fans. One performance that always comes to mind is Move by Taemin, his backup dancers are fucking incredible. The way I always see it - when people highlight Loona's use of 12 amazing dancers in their choreos - they don't use backup dancers because they have enough members in the group itself, this is exactly why I have respect for the backup dancers that smaller groups have to use for these larger scale performances, yes they are not part of the group, but they are very much apart of the performance, and deserve as much respect.
They make the dance more exciting and they had so much stage presence

I don't understand why some ppl think their choreography doesn't suit the song. You expect it to have a lot of movements but the beat and the nature of the song is slow but elegant in a way that it is captivating. Kinda like a theatre performance. That's what makes gidle unique from the other groups.
Im talking about the choreography with the back up dancers. They are back up dancers for a reason, they make the dance complete and it adds a deeper meaning and story to the song. All of them did a great job!!

Everyone talking about how boring the girls were in the actual dance but it’s not about the moves. They are the emotion. Even real dancers have tried to do this dance end up saying it’s really just GIdle’s stage presence that makes it. I think that’s the point of their moves.
It’s like a story. It’s not about the pictures but it’s about the words and meaning behind them. The girls did awesome with such simplistic moves.

I really like how gidle are not afraid to put their backup dancers in the spotlight and give them hard choreos, bcs most kpop idols have backup dancers behind them just to fill the hole or give an impression of a crowd, but here they really are doing an art performance as well with LION ! I love it

Everyone is complaining about how the choreo in itself isn't as powerful for the members as for the backup dancers. But I'm actually happy the girls didn't get hard movements since it allows them to focus more on their vocals durings lives. Mamamoo are a vocal group with small choreos but is often praised for doing so (mnot ignoring the hate they recieve tho, but ive seen many praising them), so i think we should appreciate the efforts both the backup dancers AND Gidle have put into this video, wether it's complicated or not.
Edit: watch people getting angry because i mentionned mamamoo. i just used them as an example, i know one has way more experience in the industry than the other, no need to get so petty. I was in no way putting down mamamoo.
No one's "bashing." It's minor criticism. Dancers did a lot of the leg work clearly, but that doesn't take away from GIDLE making a bop. I think we can all live with this issue, the song smacks.

The difference is that Mamamoo actually have hard vocals. The hardest vocal part is just ybe more chorus and that only because you can't breathe a lot. The choreography is easy so the falsetto parts aren't that hard as well. At least not for Soyeon because it is at the start of the song.
Mamamoo and Idle are not comparable because Mamamoo is just more vocally talented. The choreo also fits the vocals. If a song has a lot of high notes the choreography will be easier (Mr. Ambiguous and the older songs) if it's a little bit easier the choreography will have more movements as well (Egotistic or Gogobebe) and if the song isn't focused on hard vocals the choreography will become harder (Hip)
as much as i love gidle, u cant compare them to their seniors mamamoo...mamamoo is technically more vocally advanced and as gidle's seniors they are incomparable..plus they have shown us thru their releases like hip how stable they can be in hard and powerful choreography.

The dancers are incredible - they're so theatrical, half the time I'm watching them. I hope they keep using them for future comebacks (these dancers are from the same dance company as the Lion, Queendom and Uh-Oh dancers. Some of them are probably the same).
