Your voice is different when you sing that's why her voice is less deeper.
It also depends on the song. Because her voice is so deep, most songs go above her talking range. Which makes her even more surprising, because even though her voice is low she can go pretty high, even hitting the same notes as miyeon.
Her father taught her how to talk deep like a man when she was three. :)

Thats why even very technical singers take labels which indicate ranges they are expected to reach. With proper technique It is possible to have a fuller, richer tone even with higher notes, and to have a more bright tone even on a low register, but how high the notes are also makes a difference. You can see this very clearly groups like idle, or BP, were Jisoo and Rose alternate their deeper and brighter tones, respectively. Adele and Dua Lipa do have deep voices and go for high notes, but a lot of their songs are also really low, even if they are belting.

For those who are curious about how Minnie pronounces perfectly in chinese, all i can tell you is just because she is a native thai speaker. It’s not about her ethnicity or how long she’s been learning chinese but it’s about pronunciation ability. as a thai and i used to learn chinese and korean. thai language has consonant and vowel sounds as many as chinese. both are tonal languages unlike korean. chinese has 4 tones and thai has 5 tones, so chinese’s pronunciation is similar to thai. korean has less consonant and vowel sounds, so it’s quite difficult for korean to pronounce naturally or correctly some words. and this is also the reason why minnie and other thai idols can pronouce in other languages like a native.

@@user-mf3jl1uw8c 제가 그것까진 생각못했네요. 다만 기술한 작업 비하인드들을 보면 관찰됨으로 인한 작업 방해됨은 느껴지지 않았습니다. 적어도 소연은요. 창작활동은 잘 몰라 부담을 느끼는게 어느 선부터다라고 말하긴 뭐하지만, 당연히 부담되지 않는, 방해되지 않는 선을 지키는 영상을 바란겁니다. 그래서 브이로그, 셀프촬영이라고 쓴거구요. 촬영 자체만으로 스트레스를 받는다면 시행되지 않아야겠지요. 저도 그런 영상은 바라지 않습니다.

A rare glimpse at (G)I-DLE being professional. You know they HAVE to be to self produce hit after hit, but I think this is one of the few times we've seen it in action. They're usually busy trying to entertain us and don't bother filming things like this (probably because they thing we'd find it boring). I'm happy we get to see the serious side of them. They're not just silly goofballs, they are amazing artists, and women who know what they're doing.

Yeah, it seems she still struggles with Korean some at least beyond a conversational level. It must be frustrating for her at times with the way some of the members seem to learn languages so easily.
@@kentvesser9484 Yeah, I think also because she's really holding on to her native tongue. I mean most foreign idols already think in korean whereas shuhua still counts in mandarin even after so many years in SK. I don't find anything wrong with it but i think that's also a factor in learning languages.
@@shuhuasshoe2158 One of the greatest challenges in learning a foreign language is learning to stop thinking in your native language first. It's surprising that she hasn't made that leap yet as she has been in Korea for five or more years. I believe, and usually most foreign idols have pretty much mastered Korean by then. Hopefully it will click for her soon.

Just a rant: A lot of people seem to think that Mandarin Chinese sounds very tough/harsh compared to Korean, because of the Chinese versions of Kpop songs sang by a lot of Kpop groups (e.g. exo, nct, gidle). But that’s really not the case.
Yuqi is already a Northern Chinese (whose Mandarin tends to sound tougher than Southern Chinese people who are more soft-spoken) but her Chinese singing doesn’t sound any harsher than her Korean singing.
As a Mandarin-speaker myself, I really think that Mandarin only sounds harsh when the Korean members cannot pronounce it properly (or when a Chinese person is actually angry lol). Mandarin is just very difficult for Korean people to pronounce right.
If (that’s a big “if” because shuhua doesn’t have lines...) Shuhua sings more in the Chinese version of gidle’s songs, I bet she will sound even smoother and softer than Yuqi.
Mandarin really is a pretty gentle-sounding language, especially compared to Korean and some other Chinese dialects/languages such as Cantonese.
(Btw I’m not being rude or anything. It’s basically a fact agreed upon in the Chinese-speaking world. My Cantonese friends all agree that Cantonese sounds very tough and intense. It’s also beautiful, but in an intense way lol)
As a native speaker, I could easily understand Yuqi's lyrics when Minnie and Miyeon sing it (only them lol)

As a native chinese speaker, minnie's pronounciation is almost flawless, I would've thought she's a native speaker hearing her part.
It seems she is a polyglot. She's just really gifted at languages it seems. Being born into a tonal language like Thai probably helps a lot with Mandarin as using tones is natural to her. Plus it does seem that main singers are usually better skilled at controlling their voice and hearing sounds and thus have the ability to better imitate sounds even if they don't know what they are saying.
I think Yuqi has potential to have talent in producing songs like Soyeon

I'm so sad and mad right now. Soojin is one of the best dancers I have ever seen, she has encouraged me to start learning how to dance. Hearing that she is leaving is heartbreaking. I wish she was with us in their next comeback for this year. At least let us see her for one more comeback! To whoever said Soojin is a bully, I'm trully disappointed and disgusted by you. I've been bullied when I was young, but I'll never drag someone down and their whole career for this. I don't believe Soojin is a bully, this stuff was from the past at least give her a second chance! I feel bad for every other member as well, they each have a wonderful memory with Soojin. Now that she is leaving I wonder what will happen with (G)I-DLE next. To Soojin, I hope you're in a better place now away from all of this toxicity from haters and people who didn't believe you. I hope one day we can see you again, please take care of yourself, and to her family as well please take care of our Soojin for us as well. I've never been so into a group like (G)I-DLE. Honestly I wasn't interested at Kpop at all when I was young. But after hearing K/DA it changed my whole life. Finding out (G)I-DLE was the best thing that has happened to me in my whole life. I'll keep supporting (G)I-DLE for now and for the rest of my life. Ill also want to keep in touch with Soojin as well. But for now I'm probably going to take a hiatus from all this.
