I honestly adore Alex's portrayal of Jasper. He manages to provide a humanity to a character that is, in essence, a monster.

I love it. Jasper, X and Annabelle are my favorite.

@@brettsymons604 The Nos curse does indeed increase with blood potency (the higher the blood potency, the uglier you end up getting, and blood potency increases with age among other things, sure). But usually it's bad from the very get go.

I mean with the use of VPNs, end to end encryption in chats, limited usage of classic social media networks and reliance on the Dark Web for intel can make technology a little safer. Then again, the case for vampires being in control of the media can explain why vampirism hasn’t been exposed yet.
Vampires can’t just be in charge of the classical media outlets, social media would also be spearheaded by them. Kindred can basically erase known allies from monitoring systems. Easy as that.
Now I think this concept will be addressed in Bloodlines 2 as there was an ARG based on a Tinder-esque dating app for vampires to use in order to easily hunt prey.

You can be smart about these things and there's something to be said for hiding in plain sight. Remember the second inquisition are a secret, they use the camarillas discretion against them. If they start killing public figures, bombings etc that's noisy and might draw eyes to their grossly inflated budget and sweeping powers.

I will honestly say that *as* a gen z’er it’s really fucking common for us to joke about murdering people and make weirdly elaborate plans on how to do so. It’s this attitude of ‘eh the feds are already spying on us, what they gonna do?’

I see a lot of stupid criticisms of Anabelle's character when in fact she is played with exquisite mastery according to how the character is, her context and situation, before she died she was partly a social worker, with a lot of empathy, and now she doesn't know what to do; you people seem not able to understand her background and how all of that plays an important role in their actions and feelings as a new born vampire; If you're role-players, you're really pathetic.

Realistically speaking if you were to leave the Anarchs on their own they would be wiped out by humans in a matter of months (besides the fact that they're not even true anarchs, the way they're structured they're more like a less organized Camarilla with Barons instead of Princes).

In v5 the Anarchs took control of many cities since Cammy elders fucked off to the east for "plot reasons", that's why the inquisition is much more active now.

annabelle is to naive to live in the kindred world, the only reason she is alive is thanks to nelli, jasper and victor. otherwise her "human" nature would had make her get kill fast. she's to young too, maybe if she was 1 or 2 centurys old she would be more willing to kill for survive. but seen her as someone too attach to a human world that she doesn't belong anymore is something that will make her suffer and possibily end up giving her the final death.

He wanted to retain that 'heart' that made what it means to be human. Yes, you can screw up, but still strive to be better. She would or at least could be the conscience of the group. Julia Taylor An excellent point. One that Victor has brought up in the previous episode. She still has heart, and despite what others like him and Nelli say, it’s not a weakness. There will always be that part of them that wants that, which is why they like and love Annabelle so much. And I believe in what Carver thinks of Annabelle; she can do great things for herself and others. I do agree that at some point she will have to kill to protect those dear to her, but she already declared that she won’t be the weak link that gets herself and others killed.
I’m so looking forward to see, however small or large the possibility is, of her becoming a Grey hero so to speak. One who tries to be better, but when push comes to shove, will not hesitate to destroy those that threaten what they love. Hehehe.

Annabelle turning out in the future as a fallen angel of sorts , would be a fitting and poetic ending to her journey. Which is why I don't see her getting killed ,as far as story purposes goes , now if the player can't keep playing for x reason , that is another discussion. Unfortunately as a storyteller for 15 years , characters getting killed because they can't keep playing , happens to most of your players lol.

Yeah, I didn't really mean 'scripted' because obviously it's improv. I meant more that the actors (esp the minor characters) and storyteller appear to have agreed in advance roughly where the plot is going to go and the general scope of each scene - at least much more than Critical Role, which can and does go off in crazy unexpected directions. Both approaches are great of course, but I do love the bias that LA by Night has towards being in character as much as possible, and I suspect that to really make that work you need to know roughly where the story is going and your character's role in it. I'd be really interested to know from Jason Carl just how much plot and character development they discuss as an ensemble.

I would describe it as the Storyteller having a tighter control over the events, in contrast to Critical Role where Matt gives them a map of the Dwendalian Empire and now they go wherever they want.
Also the titles of the episodes are pretty vague so it's not really a constraint when you as a Storyteller know the types of challenges you're gonna put against the players and name the Chapter accordingly.

@@crypto1223 They were 1 hour episodes that followed the main story arc. Eg in the first season the first epilogue is referred to as episode 9: krplus.net/bidio/YpSlhmSFlpGtgqA . I actually subscribed to Project Alpha so I could watch all the VODs but then Project Alpha went away just before the final epilogues of season 2 were aired, so sadly I've missed those until I can sub on twitch and find them there. Eventually they'll arrive on youtube as well. They're gradually posting season 2 at the moment on the youtubes.

@@TessLowe As a minimum, Jason tells or hands out some information to players between games, and then during play they go "I've got a tip..." BUT. Speaking from experience playing and running Vampire games like this, I say it is possible that they don't discuss plot and character development before the games at all. If you played Vampire at least once, with at least some of the same people, you have the intuitive understanding where it all is going, and what the etiquette at the table is, and how to try and stay in character, an play off each other. And the V5 edition rules explicitly require players to agree on "group tenets" before the first game. But then again, this being a show, maybe they do discuss plot/character development in detail in advance. In any case the result is wonderful - a smooth performance of great inter-character dynamics!

Derrick Rencher Well...Nos culture is relatively unknown to the other clans. Like their Warrens are closely kept secrets, how they gather and spread information is unknown. I mean how would anyone not a Nos themselves know Tara was lying right off the bat? They met a werewolf down in the labyrinth, and even the two who’ve been around the block for a while had little knowledge about Goru lore, or politics.
The only reason WE know they’re idiots is because we know all about this stuff. But the characters Annabelle, Victor and Nelli don’t.

Victor says he thought she was thin-blooded, and that's why she didn't have the Nosferatu curse.

That would require moral consistency which she clearly lacks because the night before (last three episodes) she enjoyed a kindred in a collar with a leash then proceeded to beat him within an inch of his life, then got upset when a kindred who looked well taken care of but was locked in a cage basically losing respect for and faith in Jasper who has been nothing but kind and caring for her even when he tells her he was just following orders to do so but she went to bat for the two human agents who were intent on killing all kindred for just 'doing their job.'
