    Sorry to clarify to people who don't get it. The pinch bolts don't move under load. So when he sets the spirit level to zero it's the hub to vehicle chassis angle, gravity has nothing to do with it. You dont even need to set it to zero. You could take a reading add 1 swap bolts set it and done. I hope this helps.

    Hey! The metal tab which comes with the Camber bolt kit should be pointing horizontally away from the car for example like a crucifix which arms are pointing away horizontally and the tab shouldn't rotate when your rotating the Camber bolt head to do the adjustment so in order to not let it rotate out of its place you just press on the tab to hold it and don't loosen the nut too much while doing the adjustment and that should work.

    Assumtion; You know how to calibrate and use your gauge and how to install and make adjustments using the bolt kit. This is how I adjusted my honda civic with stock springs to correct for a negative camber and bring back closer to spec. It is easier to make changes also like adding or subtracting some degrees as this video shows . For alignment , one has to know the camber spec desired. With tires on , get the car on as level a surface as you possible can .This was on my driveway. Attach the gauge to the tires , anyway you can ,I was able to attach the gauge to the brake rotors, and determine the first readings. Let us say the camber spec is 0 degrees and on both sides the readings obtained were 2 degrees negative on both sides (for simplification). Therefore to get to 0 degrees you have to adjust to 2 degrees positive. Now jack up and remove tires. Reattach the gauge and zero out each tire by making adjustments on the gauge to read zero. You have to do this because the camber will change because the car is off the ground and the suspension "falls" . Adjust camber bolts to positive 2 degrees and the final result will be 0 degrees. The front tires on my civic were wearing on the inner sides ( gone negative). After installing the camber bolts and adjusting as best as I could I took the car in for alignment and on one side only , I was off 0.1 degrees. The accuracy depends on the car being level initially . But in this video since the poster is only making an adjustment and the amount of adjustment is known then it is not necessary for an initial leveling of the vehicle

    • @explorinlearnindoing5462
      @explorinlearnindoing5462 2 년 전 +7

      Ahhh now I get it. I thought why not go back from -1 to 0. But you measure with wheels on and car on the floor. So when car is jacked up you have to zero it, and then go to +1 to finally get 0. Okay got it.
      I hope standard camber bolts will work on my Mercedes because original Mercedes camber bolts can only adjust to 0.2 degrees... which is absurd. My front wheels are 2 degrees negative because its lowered.

      Some cars have adjustments for camber. Some do not. And for those that do not this is where these aftermarket camber adjustment bolt kits come in handy. Keep in mind that high in mileage vehicles the camber changes due to wear in bushings in the front end. If the spec is not too far off , then for those cars with non adjustable camber , sometimes the strut mounting bolts can be loosened a tad and the entire strut pushed a tiny bit to make corrections

If the wheel is 2 degrees out before you start then zeroing the gauge on the disc will give you the wrong reading ..

      You can do it multiple ways. His method is sound as is yours. I prefer doing the way you said. I used a fridge to set mine at zero cause my house is brand new so it’s perfectly level and hasn’t settled in yet. Then you place the magnet on the caliper and simply adjust to zero. He simply used zero and adjust positive/negative from his original reading before zero’ing. Again multiple ways to set your camber
