Despite 'Poppy' sacrificing herself for the chance of her friend living, I can't help but think that he had no idea that *that* was her intention. The last look of absolute betrayal he gave her will never fail to make my heartache.

I think this guy deserves to be a part of the script of the poppy playtime Game he truly fucking deserve it at all.

coming back to this after chapter 3... it's actually scary how accurate the general story of this animation turned out to be to the canon story of poppy playtime

Poppy's backstory was so heart touching. She sacraficed herself for her friend. Only the most loyal friends would do that. This shows that she cares about him alot. This story is so sad and heart touching yet it is a masterpiece

Poor young girl, knowing that she or her friend would have to be the test subject for the final experiment, locked her friend in the house so that she would have to do the final experiment instead of her friend. A touching story..

THIS IS LITERALLY A MASTERPIECE !!

Theory: What if the boy knew about the experiments all along?
When the girl locks him in the room saving him, he seems to act a bit over-the-top. Then when he looks through the window and sees her happily going with the mother, there's no way he could actually know what was instantly about to happen. She might've just been talking to her!
So, the look of dread on his face is, in my opinion, a bit much for someone who doesn't know about the experiments. He then INSTANTLY runs to the window expecting to see her, seeing her being taken away.
It might've just been a guess, but the fact he'd assume she was going to be there was a bit suspicious.
The look of absolute despair he gives her when she walks away is realistic, considering in his POV it'd be like she was trying to leave him without the hard goodbye. But, I think there's more to it than that.
When they play hide-and-seek for the first time and he's under the table, when she finds him, he makes her fluster because he strokes her fringe to the side. I think the reason he might've done it is because he recognises how similar she looks to the Poppy doll and that her fringe is the same. He would've wanted her to look at least a little bit different if he knows about the experiments. It's expected that someone would want someone looking like the doll to become her, so that may be in an action to spare her.
If he did know about it all, that would honestly explain his very dramatic facial expressions and actions. He probably found out about it somehow, and when he saw that the girl was sad after not being adopted, he decided to be her friend so she wouldn't want to leave, therefore wouldn't want to be adopted, therefore wouldn't turn out to be an experiment!

I really feel sorry for Poppy. Especially after Chapter 3 when she tells the player about the hour of joy, looks like it was terrifying for her.

Oh my god, this is legendary, she sacrificed herself for the boy she liked, the one who was her friend. I feel bad that all the children from the orphanage have to face something that normal kids don't. Then again, in the game the pink tape Stella says that "You grow old, and then you die."

Imagine how tragic it would be if the mini huggy wuggy that she let the scientists experimented on was the boy all along. That somehow makes the 1st part even more tragic and heart wrenching

Honestly, Poppy isn't cruel, she just wants to save the person she loves the most, she'd rather be a doll than let him die. In general, Poppy is not evil, she has her own pain, although she stands to help her friend, but inside she is very desperate and hopes someone can stand up to erase the cruelty of this cruel person. Innocent children have turned into emotionless dolls just because of them. I don't think Poppy is evil. It was only after going through so much loss and heartbreak that she could go crazy. If she can go back to the innocent girl she used to be, her pain and suffering will be less, and if someone can make her lose her memory, I hope so too because that's the reason. do. it might help her feel better and forget the painful memory.

i think the most tragic thing about this story is the fact that the boy didn't know anything about the experiments. only the girl found out and saved him, but maybe in the boy's view she just betrayed him in a way.

아마도 저 파피의 친구(파란색 옷 소년)은 캣냅이나 허기원씨일듯요 근대 여기서 함정은 허기원씨는 여친인 키시미시가 있고 저 친구는 키시미시의 후보보다 파피랑 더 친했습니다 그래서 아마도 활발한 성격을 보면 도그데이를 후보로 추가 할겁니다 일단 캣냅은 캣=고양이 냅=낫잠
도그데이는 도그=개 데이=낮이므로 저 친구는 캣냅과 유사의 옷색깔을 입고있지만 보통 낮! 하면 활발함이 떠올라서 아마도 저 파란옷 친구는 도그데이가 됄 확률이 굉장히 높습니다

와..진짜 파피플레이타임 팬애니중에 제일 절망을 깊고도 가장 슬프게 표현한 영상이 아닌가 싶습니다.. 1편에서도 허기워기 과거 씬보고 파피가 나쁜 친군가 했는데 결국 파피도 자신의 소중한 사람을 지키려는 한 소녀였다는 스토리를 보고 눈물 쏟았어요.. 비록 알고리즘으로 보았지만 애니메이션 보면서 우는것도 오랜만이네요..좋은 영상 정말 감사합니다!! 영상 분위기에 집어 삼켜질정도로 집중해서 보는것도 오랜만이였어요!! :)

This is legendary. The ending is absolutely heart breaking, the fact that the boy thought the girl betrayed him and left for a new family while the girl sacrificed herself despite knowing that this will make the boy hate her and cause her endless pain is just tragic

The fact that this video is right about human body parts transferred into dolls is terrifying but the animation is on point! Even after 2 years it’s still amazing

Tbh, I have my own story of Poppy's origins. Maybe one day I'll animate it and post a video, but for now I'll say the basic plotline.
So, there's this older girl at PlayCare, a teenager, and she's kinda broody and gothic. The smaller kids are a bit scared of her, so they don't talk to her. She's alone most of the time, when one day, all of the kids are playing in the dome, and the girl is watching, and this little girl with a Poppy doll comes up to her and asks if she wants to play. The teenage girl says no, so the little girl walks away. But then the little girl gets pushed over by some boys who are laughing at her. The older girl goes over to them and tells them to go away. The boys quickly run away, and the older girl picks up the Poppy doll from the floor and helps the little girl up. The little girl thanks her and asks her again if she wants to play, but this time the teenage girl says yes.
From then on, the little girl (Jessie) and the teenage girl (Erin) are best friends. Erin starts to feel less broody and dark, and she feels like she can be happy again. (Btw, Erin's backstory is her parents died in a car crash when she was four, and she's been going from orphanage to orphanage since. When PlayCare opened up, she was brought there, even though she had grown out of toys and stuff. Jessie was brought to PlayCare because her mum died shortly after giving birth, and her dad died from a heart attack the year after. Her last foster home didn't work out, so she was brought to PlayCare. Despite her tragic past, Jessie has always been positive and smiley. Erin, on the other hand, has been affected greatly and doesn't trust people very easily. Back to the main story.)
So one day, Erin and Jessie are lying on the fake grass, looking up at the dome's ceiling, when some PlayCare workers come over and ask Jessie to come with them. Jessie follows, but Erin is suspicious when Jessie doesn't come back that night. Or the next day. So, on the night of the second day, Erin goes to look for Jessie herself.
Erin slips out of PlayCare in the middle of the night. She gets lost, but then finds a door marked "Laboratory 129". Erin sneaks in to a room full of empty desks and cameras. She goes through another door marked "Exp. 1238". When Erin enters, she hears loud banging and screaming. She finds a wall made of glass, looking into a grey room with a bed and mirror. Banging on the glass wall is a little girl with red hair, porcelain white skin and green-blue eyes in a blue dress. With a start, Erin realizes it's Poppy. She's screaming, begging to be let out. But then Erin thinks that the voice is familiar... and then it hits her.
It's Jessie.
In shock, Erin runs up to the wall and starts firing questions at Jessie/Poppy. Jessie begins to shout and point behind her, but when Erin turns around, something is stabbed into her arm, and falls unconscious.
When Erin wakes up, she's in a room similar to the one Jessie was in. She looks in a mirror on the wall, and is shocked to find that she looks like CatNap! She's still her normal size, but she covered in purple fur, and her mouth is a huge black smile. Erin is terrified. She bangs on the wall, desperate to escape, but her attempts are useless. She's trapped for what feels like forever.
Then, on the 8th of August of 1995 (or whatever the date for the Hour of Joy was, idk really) Erin woke up to screaming and and crashing. She looked up and saw a giant Mommy Long Legs standing behind the shattered glass wall. She tells Erin that the Prototype has set the toys free, and that it's time for revenge. Erin takes her hand and runs out of the laboratory.
In PlayCare, Erin goes crazy and starts ripping people apart. A voice makes her stop, though. She turns and sees Poppy/Jessie standing a few feet away. Erin steps towards her, feeling glad to see her best friend, when she sees that Jessie is scared. Erin is confused for a moment. She looks down at her hands, and sees that they're covered with blood.
Jessie was scared of HER.
Jessie runs away, snd Erin looks at all the people she attacked, now dead. She feels regret and guilt swell in her.
The next day, all the toys meet in... (y'know, that place where you find Poppy at the end of Chapter 1. Idk the name) for a meeting. The Prototype's arm hangs from a hole in the ceiling. The toys are being assigned with guarding different parts of the factory. Erin finally speaks up, saying that what they did was wrong, and that she didn't want to be the reason for anymore the deaths. The toys stare at her, aghast, while the Prototype stays still. Then his arm moves slowly towards Erin. With one swift motion, the arm slices through Erin body, instantly killing her. Poppy/Jessie cries out and shakes Erin's body, but she's gone.
The Prototype orders Poppy to be locked in a glass case, because he thinks that because she and Erin were such good friends, that she persuaded Erin that this was wrong. With Poppy trapped in a case, she couldn't turn anymore toys against the Prototype. And she been trapped there ever since.
There ya go. I know it ain't a very polished story, but I think it's not too bad. I got a cramp from typing all this, so you better like this comment. OR I WILL GET MAD 😡

I love the story and song it fits so well. She looks so pretty in this too with the drawing style. The saddest thing is not only the fact she sacrificed her own life to save her friend, making it seem like betrayal for him, finding out that instead of adoption is a fate worse then death is that if she told him there's no doubt that he wouldn't let her do it if he knew what was to come. She did it to protect him in the long run. Biggest act of loyalty to a friend right there, sadly i dont think that kid would make it either, knowing the adoption would fake it just to experiment on kids using false hope is cruel. They probably will later use him for a different experiment. Glad this video has so many views-

ok so heres some small details that i find just really cool, since it all adds to the story here..
0:22 - The girl that is taken in this scene is turned into the BeeCat (i forgot its name-) and in this clip, she has the toy as a keychain on her backpack
0:24 - Poppy is standing alone in the back, by a row of poppy flowers. In the next clip, shes drawing the same flowers over and over, in the actual game, theres a Poppy Flower spray painted on a door as well.
0:22 - this scene again, ik, but look at the orphan house sign. Notice the words-“with Stella mommy” this doesnt make much sense now, but look over to 1:10 where the heart sign on the door says “MOMMY” this is the woman who is taking kids and making them into toys, she also owns the orphanage so the kids can’t actually be adopted. Which means that this woman’s name is Stella, and the children refer to her as their mother.
1:40 - Behind the boy, on the right, theres writing in blood that says, “THIS ISNT MY B0DY” which further gives Orphan Poppy proof that these kids were being turned into toys against their will.
1:16 - OKAY 2 THINGS HERE- 1. On Stella’s name tag it says her name, also proving one if the other points. 2. The picture with the BeeCat that says, “My newborn Kitten ❤️” Basically this woman thinks of the toys as her own children still, especially since THERES A LIVING SOUL IN IT :) so anyways thanks for reading if u read all of this 💀 This animation was super interesting, and so it the game! Great Job!

God this was so powerful. It made me feel so much at once. I hope the boy found out eventually what happened and that she wasn't betraying him, but saving his life. Poor Poppy girl.. she must've been terrified of what will happen to her, we saw her envision all the horrible things the Cat Bee girl had to go through and she knew she would have to as well. But she did it because she wanted to save her best friend :(

no, poppy technically wasn’t the last experiment. In the other videos that they’ve posted you see other children being tested on after poppy was turned. In the mommy long legs video she actively lured mommy into the train where she gets kidnapped and experimented on. And later on mommy is used in the PlayStation to entertain the other orphans who would later become experiments. For all we know they could of decided “hey poppy was a success so we’re just gonna turn this last boy into a toy to”.
So everyone pls stop spamming the replies to this comment.
