It wasn't really painful. We was too young to know how hard we had it. Not til you grow up and reflect that it hits you and you reminisce. I wouldn't have it other way though. Tough beginnings give you empathy for people in the struggle. That's why I'm a 42 year old white man who don't have a racist bone in my body. In fact it gave me so much love for the black community. Even after finding out we got robbed on Xmas morning. I remember just feeling so bad for my mother. But even after that, moms still managed to find away. RIP Mommy
