    So, did they lose the textured screen protector and just have bare glass on this? I know they promised 50% better clarity this time around, and I’d hate for it just to be because they didn’t include their proprietary screen protector. My first ereader was the Nova Air 1 and I was disappointed how low contrast and hazy ebooks looked, in addition to the glare. It’s fantastic for marking up PDFs though, if a little small. The Kobo Libra 2 is current the gold standard for clarity, so that’s where I do my reading.

    Would you mind commenting on screen reflectivity compared to gen 1? It claims better clarity. Is this noticeable? And does it happen at expense of increased reflectivity?

    I want to buy a Nova Air 2 device, but I am afraid of putting the battery in the device. Perhaps I will wait for the third generation of it, but after contacting the company, they will not release it this year, unfortunately! ..so what is your advice

    Another day another question. Awaiting for my Tab Ultra to arrive, which will mainly be used for productivity. I've taken a liking for the BOOX product. My wife and I are avid readers so I ordered the Leaf 2 (from the Good E Reader store) for her (her first e-reader). I was going to get it for myself but black is not available. The question is, would this be an option for me. Wanted to avoid distractions but I'm visualizing using this as an e - reader and if I remember about something I had done on the Ultra I can access it from the Nova. Good idea? Only issue I actually have is no expandable memory.
    Sorry for all this blah blah blah and thanks!!

    • @bellissimo4520
      @bellissimo4520 8 개월 전

      I think it depends on what you want to do. I had a remarkable 2, and it's the best note-taking device ever - but it's nothing else. Also, it has no display lighting whatsoever, which can actually be an issue if you're somewhere where you don't have good light. So as an office-only note taking tool, the remarkable 2 can't be beaten. But I needed more than that, including being able to read Kindle or Tolio books, so I needed a tablet that allows to install other apps - and for that you need Boox.

    Thanks for the video! Could you recommend a few pens that are definitely compatible with the Nova Air 2 and have eraser functions? I'm interested in something a bit more premium.

    • @chromodoris
      @chromodoris 년 전 +1

      On the premium side, I have used the Lamy Al-star EMR and the Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo: the Lamy has a button for the eraser function while the Staedtler has an eraser. On the whole I much prefer the latter in terms of writing experience and the feel of the eraser: only downside is the "pencil" look gives you a bit of a schoolboy air. I didn't like the Lamy at all. I prefer an eraser rather than a button and the writing experience was nothing to write home about, if not horrible (on the Note 2, Max Lumi 2 and Note Air). On the non-premium side, the original "triangular" pen that shipped with the Note 2 does the job well, I was really happy with it until I got the Staedtler. Surprisingly the passive Samsung stylus (one that ships with the S6 lite) feels pretty good. However, the Samsung is quite thin and again uses a button. So, if I were to recommend a premium stylus, based on my personal experience the Staedtler is the way to go even though the Lamy looks much cooler. If I hadn't lost my Lamy I'd probably see if the Staedtler tip would fit the Lamy...

      @@geriaguru if you could find an ebook dealer, best to try out first. Btw, just remembered this point: neither the Staedtler nor the Lamy is magnetic so wouldn't stick to the side of your Nova. Also, if you're going for the Staedtler be sure to get the Jumbo: if memory serves the non-Jumbo version has neither eraser or button.

    • @geriaguru
      @geriaguru 년 전

      @@chromodoris Sure, thank you very much. I have already found a dealer who has the jumbo. It is clear that it is not magnetic... I have a Nova 3 Color, but I will probably switch to this. After realizing the color don't do much for me, I want a device with a brighter / whiter screen, but at the same size, and with a stylus for note-taking. Nova Air 1 user here, I still find 7.8in a bit small for comics/manga. I'd check out both a 7.8in device and 10.3in and see which works for you. Sadly Boox 10.3in options are lower PPI, which is why I'm still reading comics and manga on my older Galaxy Tab S6 rather than e-ink. In another generation or two we'll probably see 300PPI in a ~10in form-factor.
