If Biden didn't give 40 billion to Ukraine (for guns 🙃) and gave it to school districts here in the states for security each school district would receive $2.75 million for security. Pretty sure that is enough for metal detectors at every door (which are roughly 4-6k a piece) and security, that would fix a lot. We also have to stop saying it's offensive/degrading to call out someone's mental disabilities, it's not offensive if it is for that individuals safety and more importantly the publics safety.

Criminals don't follow laws is right, we have guns, because as a free people we are allowed to defend ourselves, we have lots of guns. Gun Deaths include suicides, and we have lots of homicides all over, that's a problem. Gun Laws don't stop criminals, if you are for confiscation say it.

There isn't a single gun law in this country that can prevent this type of stuff from happening. We just can't ever know what someone will do thats why it's important to bring back more mental health facilities and mental health conversations.

Increase security at schools all schools have 2 armed security guards assigned to them. Increased mental health facilities, more wellness checks for mental health. Mandatory firearms training, most people pushing stricter gun laws aren't familiar with guns in any way. Freaking Alec Baldwin killed someone on set playing with a gun. We can do all of the security things you are talking about and it may deter--but again--people need to resign to the fact that we can never completely prevent tragedies like this--Steve Kerr should take note. If someone is hell bent on killing kids at a school they will. They may on a school bus. They may when the bell rings and the kids come running out the door. You can have a bottleneck of kids trying to clear a metal detector that are sitting ducks. Armed security? I am not oppose to it but look at banks and even the grocery store in Buffalo that had armed security and they still have robberies and killings. Have you ever seen an armored car robbed? They have 2 armed guards on each of them. Again, don't get me wrong--I am not saying that all of these things aren't a good idea and we should just give up, but lets accept that people are evil and if they don't hit a school--they may hit a day care or playground. I wish I had answers since I have a 12 year old in school.

@@akshayhere We already have background checks, and if this kid bought his gun from a FFL dealer in Texas then he had to pass a background check. This kid had no prior incidents apparently, so he would pass the background check anyways.

So clearly it isn't that effective cause millions of American adults are able to obtain firearms without background checks. HR8 would introduce new background check requirements for firearm transfers between private parties. Even mandatory gun training, annual reports and increasing the age of gun purchase would help.
