He got in there, started shooting, and parents got alerted and went to the school. The parents were trying to get in to save their own children. The parents pleaded and begged the cops to go in and they refused. Then an hour later they are fumbling with the keys to get in. Takes another 30 minutes to find the guy. And it isn't even a police officer that gets him, it's boarder patrol. WTF? The town spends 40% of their budget on police. They just got a 500K grant for safety measures, and the school has it's own police force of 5 officers. Defund them, They aren't doing anything to help us. Boarder patrol will still be funded and they are the ones that actually took action.

Videos on the scene taken by parents show a completely different story, cowardly cops standing around outside for almost an hour while children died in a community that 40% of municipal funding goes to the police dept. Disgusting.

Sure. It's the cops fault that we've created a society where a suicidal/homicidal 18 y/o can get their hands on high capacity military style carbines. They needed to be prepared to run in with side arms against someone better armed who had already decided to die.
Want to complain about the Cops response. You may have a point. But right now - I think that mostly the point is to distract from the fundamentally broken fire arms regulation in this country.

The rest of the school was evacuated swiftly but also they didnt know which room the gunman was in and how many were affected but the resource officer/ border patrol officer were first on scene and was in a firefight with the suspect which had body armor and took shots. which he then went into another classroom full of children and teachers in lockdown. The classroom was barricaded by gunman. It was about halfway into the hostage situation that the gunman shot the classroom up when a student was trying to place a call out to 911. The swat team came in and then had the final firefight.

Three (3) police officers faced the shooter outside the elementary school. Somehow this 18yo teenager was able to out-fight 3 trained officers and went into the school where he locked himself in a classroom killing most of the kids in that room. Meanwhile, the three police officers refused to pursue the gunman as he went into the school, news channels always mention how the officers suffered minor injuries but do not mention gunshot injuries or anything related, most of their injuries were caused by them trying to hide and run from the fight. They stayed outside of the school for more than 30 minutes waiting for backup while this guy killed 21 people including 19 little children, protect and serve right?. The media should report this and the three cowards that sit outside of the school and were bested by an 18 should be held accountable for their cowardice and negligence!

experience matters, these were small town cops who in all likelihood who have never been in a high stress violent situations. I'm betting they were completely overwhelmed. Also if the subject had a rifle with an optic and the officers only had handguns and were at extended ranges of let's say 25 yards or more the odds of these officers hitting the subject under stress are pretty low. Trained or untrained if you have a rifle with an optic and your facing cops with handguns with iron sights you have a clear distinct advantage unless the officers are extremely proficient with their firearm and well trained in tactics....which I'm guessing these officers are not.

There was multiple things going on at that time. some classrooms were in lockdown and others were evacuated. The gunman was in a diff classroom and then went into the full classroom later on in the 40mins. It was deemed a hostage situation that the 2 officers on scene needed more backup and they didnt know which room he was in untill the gunman sprayed when cops had to get a school admin to open a certain door that was locked during lockdown. Swat team came in and gave the final shots not long after the gunman fired on the classroom when a certain call was made from one of the students inside.

Yes I understand that, but still they are little CHILDREN FOR PETE SAKE!!
So let me get this straight if there was a fire that was happening instead of shooting that took place. Lets say there was at least 9 kids who are trapped inside at that very moment. What do you think the firefighters will do. You think their just going to wait till they put out the fire. No firefighters will act even if it is risky to get into the fire and at least save a few people. Same thing with the cops, I know this school was again a place where it was a not only quite and unsecured place that none could've known what will happen, but still if the police were already their they could've take action because they are police officers they are the ones we go to when we're in danger. I don't know who made that law. but let me make something clear hear and I hope that everyone is hearing is that kind of stuff has happened already in the past freaking years, this who shooting should've been prevented from these kind of things. I'm sorry active shooter is in the building and police can't even take action because of the law. I mean where was the training for these kind of situations. Idk what to say, but what I do know is that either the gun violence have to stop so this wouldn't happen or police will have to go the extra mile into be trained into these kind of situations so that this wouldn't happen again. 40+ minutes. Lord have mercy.
Heroes??? When you add 2 + 2 together, 40+ minutes, to me, adds up to either cowardice, or just a complete lack of competence when it comes to knowing what to do when confronted with an active shooter who enters a building. With all the mass shootings that have gone on nationwide in this country since Columbine in ‘99, one would think police officers are being trained on what TO DO and what NOT to do in an active shooter situation where the shooter enters a building.
I mean it’s one thing if the cops DIDN’T know where this POS was and had to spend 40+ minutes searching for him. But that was not the case.
There was even footage of the killer entering the bldg from a side door.
40+ minutes when u know exactly where your killer is makes me feel even more fearful for our children and youth across the nation who in essence are just sitting ducks for these psychopaths when at school.

After Columbine… one of the lessons learned was during an active shooter situation, police should enter and immediately engage the shooter as soon as possible. This would reduce loss off life…
Columbine was 23 years ago… so this idea isn’t new. Yet law enforcement in Uvalde seems to have employed the same tactics pre-Columbine…
And stranger yet… this is Texas… where supposedly masculinity is king and beers, guns, and big balls is all you need… so I guess the NRA line about a “good guy with a gun” is a load of BS like it’s always been…

How did gun control help save those 13 children stabbed to death on a playground in China? Only 6 less that those killed in Texas, and he did it with an everyday kitchen knife. "Gun control" did nothing to save those kids. You don't need a gun to commit heinous acts of violence against children. If some psycho wants to do this, they will, with or without a gun. Wake up and realize if all the guns in the world magically disappeared, this shit would still happen, with a different tool. The gun isn't the issue. He could have walked into that school with a knife, machete, hammer, homemade explosives, molotovs, acid, any number of things that could cause mass casualties and terror. The problem is that he was able to simply walk into a school full of little kids. That's the problem. He never should have been able to get into that school, no matter what he had. I understand the anger born out of such a horribly sick act against innocent children. But if you honestly think "gun control" will save anyone from a monsters rein of terror, you're simply wrong. It's been proven over and over, you don't need a gun to commit acts of terror.

Why punish law abiding gun owners with more restrictions when the nature of violent crimes is that they are committed by those who do not follow the law?

Regulation won't do anything in the United States because many of the guns used in crimes were acquired illegally, through theft or illegal purchase, and the government can't regulate either of those. Clearly, this is a mental health problem and if he didn't have a gun he would have used a different weapon, knives, bats, and so on and with a 40-minute response time he probably would have been able to do similar damage. At least a gun runs out of ammo, if he had anything else on him he could've hacked kids till the blade snapped.
