In the US, Pillsbury has started making their cookie doughs (at least the chocolate chip and sugar) with pasteurized eggs and heat treated flour. So they taste the exact same but without the health risks of eating regular raw eggs and flour.

A common misconception with Cookie Dough is the egg in the cookie dough which makes it inedible but its actually the raw flour. Alot of places that will serve cookie dough will cook the flour before serving it.

Edible cookie dough has four. It is in fact the egg that’s dangerous because salmonella risk.
