It was probably for food safety. Foods that are cooked and cooled should be reheated to 165 °F.

If the burger has lettuce and tomato, I personally would deconstruct the burger heat and reassemble.
That would be way too normal and sensible for these two 😅

When they first put the microwave to 90 seconds i immediately was like "congrats, youve made molten lead in the guise of a burger".

True, but I think it still works / makes sense. If you're going to buy fast food for the purpose of having leftovers, you'll want to get the one that tastes the best as leftovers, not necessarily the one that tastes most like the fresh version.

I'm sitting here watching this episode whilst eating lunch. I finished eating and I'm relaxing whilst continuing to watch. Suddenly I thought... What do I have in the microwave??...I got up to check and the microwave was empty. Must have imagined it 🤷♀️ A few minutes later when I heard the microwave again, I realised it was the microwave on the tv that I was hearing
I can tell you’re a man of intellect since you use whilst so often.
My trick with re-heating fast food is sticking a small cup or saucer of water in there with the item. I have found the microwave takes the moisture from there and just heats the food (keeping things like pizza crust, fries and bread a little more crispy than without the water)

The trick to reheat is microwave for 30 sec then throw in air fryer for 1 min at 400 to have the break crispy.

Over years of gag inducing foods, this episode takes the cake for me. I only tried left over burgers once in my life and never again. Just watching the warm lettuce in this video made me feel physically sick.

In the early-mid 90's, McDonald's would sometimes run a deal on regular Cheeseburgers for $0.25 each, I'd buy 20 of them for $5 and put them in the freezer as well. 1 minute in the microwave and voila! Even more frequently, they ran "2 for $2" deals like 2 Big Macs or 2 Filet-O-Fish (or 1 of each) for $2!!! Ah the good 'ol days.

Those were the days! I have fond memories of going to McDonald's with my dad, getting the 2 for 2 big macs and a soda for a quarter from a vending machine.
