Unsurprisingly, the guys who grew up together in a barbecue-heavy region have similar taste in barbecue
Ikr. But i also noticed they drifted towards more homey type of food rather than the fancy🖤 probably reminds them of comfort food at home

What I've learned: Smokehouse is overpriced lol
a lot of the time youre paying for "atmosphere" when it comes to expensive dining

the words bbq and fancy are basically opposites in my mind. BBQ is about smokers and back yards and outdoors. You try to 'elevate' it enough and you miss the point. So i'm not surprised the fine dining places weren't great.

For barbecue specifically, instead of frozen and fast, we needed "smoker attached to a truck in the parking lot of the local grocery" and "gas station that serves food". They'd win every time.
I made another comment that the best BBQ comes from run down buildings that look like they should be condemned and roadside trailers.

If you are going to a fine dining place for BBQ you lost the game. Everyone knows the sketchier the place the better the BBQ
this is correct. Unfortunately, the closer it looks to like it's going to fall over or give you food poisoning, the better the pulled pork.

Honestly, I'm perfectly fine this this episode being more chill and just watching them do the "Naked" food challange, it's becoming one of my favorite things on this show, so I'm glad they did another episode, maybe one day they'll do this with more southern food, like fried chicken, mashed potato's, etc. Their country boys, I wanna see how the fancy holds up in that kind of situation!

It was great to see the St Louis style ribs win, it’s the only way to eat ribs imo. If anyone ever finds themselves in the STL area do yourself a favor and make a stop at Pappys, their ribs are so dang good!
Pappys is by far the best BBQ I have ever had, I always tell people that and the one time i went to pappy I left smelling like I was standing next to the smoker lol, loved every bit of it
