I saw them at the forum and she was so electrifying that it was like having an out body experience. I drove slowly home that night thinking about that moment and the next day. My friend was going to see them at the KRplus theater two days later and I struggled a bit and said fuck it, I am going to see them again!
I can't explain it fully, but something about the instrumentalism and the nature of this song FEELS like you're on a boat going down a river in a brisk wind on an overcast day. They nailed it.

Gorillaz NEEDS to be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, their contribution to music is just outstanding. Not and overstatement by any means, when the time arrives, they need to be there, I truly believe they already reached that level some time ago.Blending so many genres and constantly churning out fresh material speaks volumes.I wish them their best through this journey called life, and I am happy we all get so share it in the present, even if for me just means connecting to the music they release.
i agree. another non-overexaggerated statement, they are the only band to do what they have done. Like you said, the very best word to describe them is outstanding. No one can replicate their sound because they are always evolving, mixing genres, etc. idk whether or not they are in the rock and roll hall of fame, but they definitely belong there and I mean that. not even just from a fan point of view, also from an objective one.
Once they reach the eligibility requirement of 25 years after their first record release (2025), then perhaps they could. Unless, of course, they get bogged down by Hall politics (or the whim of people like Jann Wenner): the Moody Blues didn't get in until 2018 despite being eligible since 1980.

I love how in this song, the bass is quieter than other of Gorillaz's songs. I can still hear it, but compared to a song like Feel good inc. or Clint Eastwood, it's more subtle, letting other instruments shine for once. And that for the most part, the bass is low compared to the song in general. It's doing it's own thing while the other instruments do theirs.
I think the instruments volume has to do with the mood of the player

The lyrics are adorable. Even cuter in Damon’s smooth voice(or 2D if you prefer). And the collaberator’s accent and voice is such a beautiful add. They really branch out to every song they make. We know it’s made with love.

Heya, I'm late to the party, I discovered the album only yesterday.
I don't know if anyone has said this before, but "désolé" ("sorry" in English) also means desolate/deserted/ravaged in French. Which means that "désolé" applies to 2D and Murdoc in more ways than you might think. 2D is sorry that things ended the way they did, he's also devastated by the abusive relationship he had with the bassist, but it's Murdoc who is deserted, isolated.
Interesting interpretation, I read a comment that had a slightly different interpretation, that the song is about Murdoc being sorry for all the pain he has caused the band, especially 2 D, which is why he is so sad and by himself, because he either apologized or feels too guilty to have fun with them. I kind of associated this song after that with all the people who have hurt me who never actually apologized for it telling me they are sorry, or rather than them telling me they are sorry, life itself apolozing on their behalf and wanting me to move on and heal and enjoy the catharsis of that heaking and the joy life has to offer after we heal from the wounds others inflict on us.

Man diawara is so good in this, really glad gorrilaz managed to get her, haven't heard of her before this but im really glad I got the chance to listen to her in this, also she looked great in this too! Her clothes are so vibrant and her joy really adds to the boat riding scenes.

Because before Murdoc was like the head of the band with 2D, but now no one cares about him, including Noodle and Russel, especially after Murdoc went to jail and 2D moved on and made "Humility" by him self. Momentary bliss is a heart racing pumping song whereas Desole is more calm and kinda chill (which I guess many people like). Murdoc was is Momentary bliss and he wasn’t really involved in Desole reflecting the two different sides of the song. Murdoc is kinda like the minor and 2D is the major. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I know it's a bit too late but this song always tugs at me, reminds me of late July, 6:34 in the morning. I hadn't slept after watching blade runner with my boyfriend. He was on a plane traveling to meet me irl for the first time. its like murdoc is feeling left behind and wants to feel needed but while he was gone the others moved on, even 2d is happier now. He’s the only one at the house looking for them and ends up breaking down when he’s alone. Are we getting character development?? i hope so
im really excited to see the next episodes, i hope murdoc learns from his past mistakes, and realizes that they've grown tired of him
