- Evan Ruggiero has always moved to his own beat. At the age of 6, he fell in love with tap dancing. But, at age 19, a bone cancer diagnosis cost Evan his right leg and threatened to end his dancing dreams. Nevertheless, he kept his hopes up, fighting cancer one step at a time. Less than a week after his final chemo session, Evan was back in the studio, learning to dance with a prosthetic. Now, he’s lighting up the world with his unique brand of dance.

Took a master class from Evan - one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Incredibly gifted, incredibly nice and overall and awesome guy. He taught us his peg leg style of tap making us keep a rigid leg and only being able to step on our heel. It was insanely hard to do even with 2 legs, gave me even more respect for what he’s capable of

I actually just took a tap class with him and it was incredible to hear his story. The moves he taught us were very different but cool. He was incredibly nice and took questions from everyone.

I think this is amazing. I sadly can't dance to save my life but regardless of your leg you are an amazing dancer. I recently was out for a run and was passed by young woman with bilateral lower limb amputations. She was running with the prosthetic blade runner legs. I have never seen anyone so graceful. If a can aspire to be half as talented as you are then I would be a very happy person.
