How about trying Nepali food? I'm recommending it because you seem to enjoy butter chicken. Nepali chicken curry is really good. Very simple recipe but delicious! And Nepali mandu too (momo). Would love to see it on your channel! Much love. I really enjoy this series of yours!
Gabie!! If you did not mentioned this I would have commented, "I feel like Gabie is low-key trolling the fried rice viral video." HAHAHA. You da best Gabie!
Yes, there is are methods to cook rice other than a rice pot; over a stove and drain rice using colander! You go girl!
Hi Gabbie! You really did well with cooking. :) I suggest for the next time, you really cook the onions until its wilted, and cook with it the spices (esp turmeric) for 2-3 minutes until it all comes together and becomes a well cooked paste. Afterwards, you can add all other vegetables/meat. :)

I need to call something out. The people who are getting pissed off about how this is not the right way to cook biriyani, REMEMBER THAT THERE IS NO ONE WAY TO COOK BIRIYANI. different regions in North, South, Central and North East cook biriyani differently. From the spices and methods that Gabie has used, (cooked washed rice, curry leaves, mint, coriander) I can confidently say that this is some kind of fusion between Southern and Rajasthani biriyani, and not North-Eastern Dum Biriyani that others were expecting.

your reactions were so humble and genuine! i appreciate the love towards our culture! iโm usually afraid to click on these kinds of videos bc i get insecure quickly ab my nationality, bc most of them are a bit negative, but this made me so happy !
You did a good job for a first try. Some suggestions:
1) saute the "masala" in the order - onion, ginger-garlic paste, the spices, tomato and then veggies or meat. The spices need to heat up to get the taste and aromas going.
2) boil the rice way less. Especially the basmati rice. I know Korean rice is a little bit more done than Indian rice, and I love it with Korean side dishes. But to get more tasty biriyani, you need the rice to be like pasta- kind of al dente. Not mushed, but the grains seperated.
3) this is more of a misspoken thing rather than cooking tip. " Chai" means tea. It's literally the word for tea in hindi. so just say chai or tea. Chai tea is just...not right.
I loved your enthusiasm. So..keep going. :)
Thanks for pointing out the chai tea thing. Cannot tell you how much that bothers me. XD It is like saying tea tea.
i get the concept of what ur trying to say, bc in most asian countries chai/cha is tea, but you have to understand that "chai" tea is a different type of tea. our normal tea in england would be "black" (english breakfast) tea, but if you go elsewhere where that isnt your default tea then you wont get the tea you want, for example oolong or green tea in china would be "tea" but if you go there and want black tea you'd have to say "black tea" even if tea just means black tea to you. also for someone to just say the type is weird... i want black instead of "black tea" as a whole, would be weirder than saying "tea tea" bc again chai is a type of tea in england so youre not even technically saying "tea tea". (the packaging for the tea in the video is basically what im trying to say) "chai teabags" like "green teabags". same(ish) concept with naan bread, "bread bread" but it makes sense in western countries bc naan is a specific type of bread, also makes it easier for those who dont know what naan is to understand that its bread lol :)
@@sindydeng6405 I am not sure you understand, chai isn't a type of tea, like cinnamon or english. The word chai itself means tea. It's one if the many misnaming done by westerners - "Sahara", "naan", etc. We have black tea, milk tea and varieties here too. We differentiate by including the ingredient.
Cultures are being exchanged, food, entertainment & languages in particular. Its not that difficult to correct a mistake. Isn't that how growth works? People won't understand unless corrected. That's all I did. Repeating something wrong doesn't help anyone now, does it?
@@sush07 no i dont think you understand, in england chai is a type of tea just like black, green, oolong, ect. thats why the packaging says "chai teabags" its not "just tea" bc just tea in england is black tea. if you fully read my comment you wouldnt have replied lol. chai is the name for tea where you are, like cha is also the name for tea. but here where gabbie is, chai is A TYPE of tea. it tastes different from our normal tea........
thats why you can also get chai lattes,,,, bc chai is a flavour here??????? so no one is acc wrong is saying "chai tea". where you are from chai is tea, but here chai tea is the type of tea that you have. we call the tea you have chai, and so we say its chai tea.
@@sindydeng6405 and that's the mis-naming by westerners I mentioned. Just coz it's happening, doesn't make it right. All I did in my og comment was point out the common mistake. "Chai teabags" is itself wrong, coz it will translate to "tea teabags". Call it Indian tea, that would be more appropriate. Just repeating the same mistake doesn't make it right.
My comment was in no way hateful towards gabbie. All I did was point out something as an fyi. So she can learn and correct it, as can others. As a group of ppl learning about different countries and cultures, it just made sense to do. Refusing to correct oneself defeats that purpose.
I understand that the word "chai" is treated as a 'flavor'. Can't correct companies; but ppl, like you & me & Gabbie can call the beverage "chai" not "chai tea". That would solve the entire issue. It's just a suggestion from someone who knows Hindi and cares that ppl know the correct way if usage.
And also, "chai latte" isn't a thing. I know the chains have convinced many that it is, but it just isn't.
Hi! I'm a punjabi living in england and wanted to say a few opinions hehe
1. i've never cooked rice like that however must give it a go!
2. I would advise people cooking with indian spices to always cook them on a dry pan first to get aroma and full flavours out and then start your dish!
3. I never recommend chai teabags and would encourage everyone to make it themselves as the result is so much better with deeper flavour! It's very easy too :)
4. I LOVED JOSH'S REACTION TO THE GULAB JAMUN AGHH !!
5. For any indian meat curry, it's better to marinate overnight but even for a little bit like gabie, is better than straight away !!
And also ask her not to play Arabic (isis) music while cooking rice.
Summer Boi thats just stupid mentality and racism
Yesi hate tea bag chai. I like the over boiled chai a lot and not the tea bag one with added milk.

Tea in hindi is called โchaiโ and we donโt make tea like that ๐.
By the way chai is a Persian word for tea .
I think there is no word for chai in any indian language.
Gaurav Sharma chai is derived from word โ.chaโ. Tea was first grown in china which later on was to other parts of word and chinese use to call it cha.
Iโm from Pakistan and chai is made like that, we just donโt froth it at the end we cook it a little more and it gets frothy by Itself

Me, an Indian jollybean, rushes to watch video.
P.S. please don't call Chai as Chai tea. You're basically saying "tea" tea. Chai is not a type of tea leaf, it's a method of making tea.
Exactly it cracks me up eveytime I hear Americans going like chai tea which means tea tea ๐๐
Harini Obla o
AHAHAHHAHA I was just laughing thinking the exact same thing
Same could be said for people who say "pasta noodles" or "banh mi sandwich." Literally just saying the same thing twice. Lol
Yes!
I love how Josh is so appreciative and Gabie is soo loving. You both are sooo cute ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ
This is the first ever video I watched on your channel. Through you I found KoreanEnglishman and Jolly. Since then I have been hooked to all three channels and haven't missed a video in these two years. Absolutely love all the content! โคโคโค
Let others appreciate your culture without getting angry about it. Right or wrong method, the fact they tried their best and appreciated it all in good faith it all that matters. Love this Gabie! Hope one day you come to India and I can show you and Josh around the country. :) - Love from India

Gabie needs to create a playlist on Spotify. Her music is so chilled
Im actually legit impressed at how accurate your butter chicken recipe is. Literally how my mum makes it. I became excited with each step you took towards the right direction.
I may have perhaps missed it ?but crushed methi leaves is all that it needs at the end for that legit aroma and vibe of North Indian butter chicken! Beautifully made Gabie!
That's coming from an Indian ;)

I might not say that you made the food the authentic way but the food looked great and you used all the authentic spices I must say I am impressed! I love korean foods and I have started to love them over the course of years and so as my family but starting to cook a complete new cuisine and understanding everything was a learning curve I am so happy to see you are trying out these dishes from indoPak region!! Kummayoo for making and enjoying all the food! Next time try the dessert Kheer and gajreela and beef kabob.
Theyโre just so adorable together๐ Iโm gonna try this butter chicken recipe for sure !

This was so fascinating to watch as an Indian! You did great Gabie! ๐
Do try South Indian food sometime. People are mostly familiar with north Indian food so it would be great to know what you think of the food from the south.
The Biryani recipe was definitely unique. Looked so amazing and delicious. The mint must've given it a refreshing flavor.
And the Butter chicken at the end....WOW!! It was literally killing me.
Amazing skills and admirable efforts! Loved the video.
