I got rejected from USC last year after literally working my ass off to get into that school... 4.0 GPA. I was 18 yrs old and flew myself from TX to LA multiple times for this school. Met the vice dean of SCA. Had all my writing pre-evaluated. Talked to my USC admissions advisor. etc. And still didn't get in. Hearing and seeing all the BS revolving Olivia Jade makes me just absolutely SICK. She didn't even want to fucking go there. I sacrificed so much for a whole year and was rejected because of pricks like this.

I agree with Ethan on this though, it’s her parents fault. Most kids in high school would trust their parent’s judgement, and I’m assuming her parents weren’t like ‘btw this is illegal’ and she’s probably have no reason to worry. She may have kept it hush hush thinking it may be seen as a bad PR move, but not necessarily illegal.
On top of all of that, it seems her parents still don’t think they did anything wrong, so they clearly didn’t think it was wrong to begin with and therefore likely didn’t tell their daughter it was wrong.

She knows it. it would definitely be a talking point that she didn't go there and that she was showing up to these parties all the time. It's not that she's not allowed to go. She wants the experience without the responsibility. If she was just some girl no one would notice or care. But that's not the case. For someone like her, reputation is money. I think you are a little out of date with college admissions right now. Schools like UCI and UCSC are actually considerably difficult to get into. Even some of the Cal State schools are starting to get that way now. Look at some of the ACT scores and acceptance rates of some of the semi-popular California colleges. I don't think every state is necessarily as difficult, but some states have very competitive colleges now
I dunno. Sometimes there are gag orders placed on people where they are not allowed to talk about something or they can be sued, but typically that's in cases that involve a large out of court settlement.

I thought it was common knowledge. That’s why it never shocked me. Celebs always go to Ivey leagues.. so do rich kids. They can’t all be smart and their names being on buildings is not coincidental. This situation and seeing people’s reactions made me think, though. It’s sad how this was perceived as just another white collar thing to me as oppose to the crime that it actually is.
Of course it's common knowledge but they usually get in through loopholes so even though people know about it they can't do anything because it's not technically illegal. This was literally illegal and people are glad they're being held accountable, how is that weird?
