Woah
Hi hacksmith i am a super big fan of yours
This is how the Doom soundtrack was made.
Lmao you haven't even watched the first 5 min
@@Crazyclay78YT r/whoosh
Don't tell it to anyone
And Halo.
Yes
James, this is possibly the BEST GIFT I have ever received!!! I love it SO MUCH. You did such an incredible job…I'm...in awe. And ok - here’s the thing: I feel like we need to make a *massive* one of these together. I’m talking bonfire status. Let’s make it happen - I’ll maaaybe even consider giving you that welding class you were wondering about 😉⚡️🔥
Now THAT sounds like a plan! I'm so glad you liked it!!! 🔥
Come visit any time! I'll get the welding equipment ready too!
Hi
Ooh, can’t wait to see the vid
how is this 2 days ago
it is absolutely sick!
When they say "this song is lit"
These guys mean it literally.
Hey, it seems you are on this video too!
He’s everywhere
seems like im early
brings a whole new meaning to this song is fire.
Dang it you beat me to it
This guy's skills are literally on fire 🔥
I ❤️ UR ViDeOeS.....👉🏻👈🏻.... 🥺
great gift idea and excellent execution. very clean build, i love it!
Thanks Tony! High praise from the master of craftsmanship himself! 😊
@@theHacksmith what were the two songs you played to test it out?
@@deathzta5010 One of them was the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
We are so glad it made it! Quality Streets are the best Christmas Chocolates. You are so brave sending something welded to the EXPERT! It looked so good.
Happy Christmas Hacksmith!
-Ruth & Shawn
Cool
It was comfy!!! Thank you so much!
That's a thought, do they even have Quality street in North America? If not that's a unique gift for them aside from a wearable portable sofa.
@@jayzo considering he called them cookies until he opened it probably not
Yeah thats what i thought, crazy concidering how popular they are in the uk
Why did that scene at the end feel like one of those scenes from apocalypse movies where the protagonist chills out in an abandoned Walmart and cooks beans. Loved it
This was so fun to watch! Happy holidays James! It was hilarious to watch you try out the portable sofa.
Enjoyed your mini Street cart you made for colin.
Can tiny salted metal rings or something be placed around the holes so that the flames have different colours which can be arranged according to the spectrum. It could be cool as well.
They could!!!
@@theHacksmith Now I'm thinking of songs with rainbows: Reading Rainbow theme, My Little Pony, Nyan Cat, etc.
That beat was actually fire
But what are the songs? So irritating when creators don't give credit in the description.
That song at the end is called Dance of the sugar plum fairy, a very old classical piece by Piotr Tchaikovsky. I don’t think credit in the description would be of any use…
@@maelysearl-sur4777 I was talking more about the song at 15 minutes.
I swear this engineering side of youtube has the best of the best
I love these kinds of simple videos on this channel. It's not too over the top, but still dosed with creativity and wholesome fun.
That is so cool!
I think it's my favorite Hacksmith project yet, and since this is relatively easier to make small scale for us normal people, I have a feeling a lot of viewers (including myself) will be inspired by this one.
Exactly what I was thinking while watching the video. I'm gonna make one asap.
I’ve built one similar to this, but began experiencing problems when using for extended periods of times because the tube heats up to incredible levels due to the flames, and will destroy the speakers. I would have gotten some copper tubing and done some light water cooling, or used some cheap heat pipes and air coolers near the speaker ends to keep the speakers cool. Doing this on the outside shouldn’t affect performance or acoustics.
Out of all your inventions… why do I want this one the most!!!
Literally the closet thing to Stark Industries on the planet 🌏
A grinder and paint, makes you the welder you ain't. - William Techumsah Sherman
James seemed surprised at how much fun he was having designing the art for that project.
Definitely my favorite Hacksmith invention for 2021. Awesome job!
Firstly, amazing job on this project! Secondly I'm a huge Hawkeye fan and with his series wrapped up I think it's the perfect time to see what you guys could come up with for trick arrows!!
Oh hell yeah
I’m ngl idk if they have done this already cuz it’s been a while since I’ve been to the channel. But the hacksmith should totally make the iron man shield that took the blast from thanos’s power stone in infinity war
Make the prawn suit from subnautica, it would be so cool!
Your best video of 2021 dude , and cheapest . Please do more simple projects . I can see you had loads of fun . Merry Christmas everybody ❤
This is actually super cool. The way it goes out and relights actually works very well with it.
These are always amazing can’t wait to watch next to years
howd you get that emoji?
@@lebvi channel members get access to them
I think a possible revision of the design would be to install the speakers facing the same direction versus the mirrored direction, that way assuming the speakers are synced you would get the flame to interact with the treble and mids, while also getting a good sound. Keep up the awesome content hacksmith!
That is so cool - Especially at the end ! The PORTABLE COUCH and your RUBEN TUBE go together perfectly to make toasted Marshmallows!!
With a speaker at both ends, seems like the pressure waves will be combining, providing a modified wave form inside the tube. Especially when using the frequency generator, it almost looked like at some frequencies the waves were cancelling each other out.
I'm so ready for Christmas, and it looks like you guys are too!
Now that I really like. A great conversation piece. :-) Very cool!
Exactly. James actually made something most people would put on display because of how awesome it looks
@@johnsherby9130 I am certain that this gift will get a lot of actual use.
Nicely done I knew how this was made by forcing the volume of the fire into a different shape and compressing it to a different way so it hits different
I think of all the santa gifts this one is the best
Good to see James still making us awesome builds
You should make mini versions of these with cool patterns and designs and whatnot and sell them on your merch page, they would prob sell really well, I know I would buy one lol
I love your projects and when you did the rocket slap, it was was so histaric
James talking about how he is bad at welding reminds me of something he said in the storm breaker building project, “ A grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain’t.”
Awww I was really hoping for jlaservideo to be in this years maker Xmas thing
Me too!
My physics teacher did this last year, was pretty cool, his was a less a less elaborate setup but it showed the waveforms a lot more clearly. Was also about 2.5m long.
I was wondering if using 2 speakers in their setup may be cancelling out a clear signal for the gas to show the waveforms?
@@WMCloseProtection85 I was wondering the same thing
not specially cancelling out but creating a third one, so when they use the app to see a specific wave it doesn't really shows up
@@PatrikDezseri well how many wave repetitions you can see depends on the harmonic it’s set to
Would really love to see a bigger version! Reuben's tubes get better with size, in order to see a standing wave of the full frequency of human hearing (20-20000 hz) you would need to make it about 16 meters long, give or take a few meters depending on the pressure of the propane. But to see standing waves of 60hz, you'd just need to make it 5.5 meters long, so that's doable! It would look a lot cooler I bet.
Mad respect for the quality of your videos. Very top notch
As an audio engineer, I approve of this gift!
You are the same guy who made his dream come true! You inspire ordinary people like me!)
P.S. I am still intimidated by your scar on your arm after your baseball game...
16:08 The flames flatlined!
In the beginning, he was mesmerized by the fire dancing
that's such a cool idea and execution as always! I was curious from a science perspective if the 2 speaker setup directed towards each other in the tube may have cancelled out a clearer signal for the waveform? went to the comments thinking someone would have debated it but not? 😆 🤣
If the distance between the two speakers are of n times the wavelength + half the wavelength, it will cancel out (I'm assuming you meant the speakers facing each other?)
If it's n times the wavelength, it will get amplified
Do note that I haven't finished watching this video yet, and I'm translating from my Korean knowledge to English on the go so there could be slight errors
Just wanted to answer since it was an interesting question ;)
That song was fire 🔥 😎
The maker secret Santa is something I look forward to watching since it started.
This invention was amazing and mind blowing as always! Good job!
Y’all gotta get JLaser in this
Honestly this seems like something that could be added to the shop. Maybe it wouldn't be profitable but who knows, id pay like $200 for one with some Bose speakers in it or something. Would be really cool if it caught on but you guys were known for making the original brand! Could also just make a kit with no speakers included or cheaper ones that come with it but make room for speaker replacments.
And also, I'm sorry, he's allergic to WHAT!
But bose speakers alone would cost over 200 bucks!
@@theHacksmith true🤣
"When in doubt, extinguish all fire" has to be one of my favourite instructions ever! I was brought here by the secret santa express and subbed and liked :-)
Love that you used the sofa at the end.
does anyone know what speakers he used?
Awesome gift!! Question: with both speakers on opposing sides, are they setup as stereo? Or is one setup for a inverse waveform to keep from cancelling each other out?
I'm pretty sure there's destructive interference happening, no standing waves were present. Generally they're made with the speaker on one end and the gas intake on the other. It might still work okay if only one speaker is used at a time.
@@punkdigerati that was my thought too
Another way to make the tube work is to have a balloon and the speaker next to it playing right into the balloon. This make the balloon vibrate to push the air molecules and the on turn push the flames. It’s more of a diy way to do it so you don’t have to have to have a special speaker.
I love how childish he is thank you for making my day
"A fire extinguisher on hand is always a good idea." I feel like that is true for MOST hacksmith videos
Little bit misleading. Thought you were going to make an instrument that uses fire, much like a tesla coil. Not just visualizer.
Used to build these as a kid. Lowkey been meaning to make another perfect for backyard bbqs haha
Yoooo the video quality is spot on!! Good job👍
My science teacher did this a few years ago in the 9th grade it was so cool it was better than this because the tube was like 6 feet long
Same
Hi
Your first
Hi
@@bobmgfnskjdhgcdfer Awesome! Thanks guy
This is brilliant. Love it.
I’m thrilled that you call it STEAM instead of just STEM.
The A is the most important word in the acronym. It all starts with ART. That’s where creativity starts.
Re-education is key here.
Thank you!
You're so right!
@@theHacksmith wow, thanks for the reply. As a small time KRplusr myself, this is a nice surprise and totally unexpected ! You made my day! 😃
I must be a boomer, but what is this steam thing? Wasn't the point of Stem to separate practical skills from arts?
They aren't really separate, though, are they? There's a lot of crossover of creative thinking.
This literally gives to the meaning of "The fire is dancing" I know you mentioned this in the video, but that's cool!
All these gift are great examples of creation and good engineering, but I do gotta say hacksmith definitely knows how to engineer a cool style gift.
Of all the incredible things James has designed and built over the years, this is hands down my favourite.
Thanks!!!
I’d like to just say you’re my inspiration and the reason I’m pursuing engineering at university, thank you
I like the double flame 🔥🔥 when beats comes on 👍
This is the epitomy of creativity
When he was using the wave generator and messing with it when it stoped the timing in the flames going out his face and the noise that started playing was just perfect
Play through the fire and the flames on this... imagine. So fitting
That is awesome. For my electronics degree I made one for my capstone project, along with my own op-amp and signal generator.
This is awesome! Merry Christmas!🎄
Dude that beat was legit fire! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow. Now your mixtape can be *truly* FIRE
John Smith you need my training to became Jedi.
This is one of the coolest thing ive ever seen
Merry Christmas guys!! love your videos!
When you say "the drop it's firee" 🔥🔥:))
I started with your video at release and now I've finally watched all videos (3 hours later). And I warched some parts at 1.5 x speed for it to not take the entire evening.
This is probably the coolest I've thing seen so far!!!
This serie is AWESOME!!!
Merry Christmas Hacksmith team
Merry Christmas hope you have a hacktastic day
Dude that song was FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
The flame resonance is so cool
this is quite literally fire
He had a awesome chance of Rick roll
Hey dude love all of your teams work keep it up
This beat is fire, literally.
Have a jolly Christmas Hacksmith team!
I love how the fire has its own dancing style
0:41 "He"😂
This is on a whole other level James. Excalent
We need smore inventions like this.
You clearly made the absolutely perfect gift for her. Wow. I bet she uses this all the time.
Love the Iron Man desk toy, that scene in the movies was hilarious
That looks really cool.
