Here's a few tips I've gotten from various places:
Paint the self watering pots to keep sunlight from inspiring algae growth in the water receptacle.
Keep the sprouts in the dark while growing to make them tall and grow faster because they always seek sunlight. If they don't get sun it makes them think they are still underground and they grow faster trying to push their way to sunlight.
Don't wash mushrooms because it gives them a rubbery texture. Instead wipe with a damp cloth if necessary. Storing them in a closed container with a layer of salt on the bottom will control moisture and make them last longer.
I find my mushrooms taste just as good if I use a knife to cut them instead of tearing them. I love to saute them in plenty of butter for a wonderful side dish or to add to recipes.
I loved your homemade self watering pots. I've been looking for a safe windowsill garden at my son's home this winter. This is an excellent solution. Please share your resources for the seed growing pan. I believe this too would be a perfect solution for my needs.
"Don't wash mushrooms because it gives them a rubbery texture" seems to be a popular tip that appears in KRplus videos nowadays.. as a frequent cook at home, I would say, do the way you like it as long as it doesn't change the texture or taste of your food. If you have LOTS of mushroom, its a simple waste of time to rub them one by one with a damp cloth or damp kitchen towel (unnecessary waste). Realistically, any busy cook at home can and will just rinse them quickly under water. That's it. And tearing big mushroom by hand has its point - the texture. That way it absorbs the oil, flavour and seasoning much much better but see - as long as you are happy with your food and no harm is caused, just do it the way you like it.

買回來的種子須泡水, 但泡水時間會因大、小吸水性多、寡不同而定,大概不超過6、7小時, 但也有少許須泡較長的時間。泡過水的種子鋪在瀝水盤上, 一天喷水2~3次 (在台灣), 放在陰涼通風處, 待幼苗長到1~2公分須移至通風有光照處,切記不可直曬~用這樣溝通實在很難完整, 您就試試吧！ 祝您成功喜悅！ 芽菜营養價值完整, 若能生吃或榨汁可使您身體獲得活力及健康喔~

I tried the same thing, but I'm not sure what went wrong, the roots of my scallions started to rot after some time. Is it because of drainage issue? The scallions were revived after I transferred them to a normal pot outdoor.
@@maybel3241 yes when your plant is too moist too often the plant doesn't get oxygen thus basically drowning it and then come in bad bacteria to start eating your roots

Hiii, Hami's mommy. I love your channel. One tip for you, the cherry tomatoes flowers will need pollination. As they are indoors, there are no bees to pollinate. You can use a painting brush to rub the pollen grains. Sending lots of love from India.
In fact, tomatoes (and other nightshade family plants like eggplant) self-pollinate. She does need to tap the stems a few times a day to release the pollen inside the flower to fall to the stamen. Buzzing of bugs and wind shakes the tomatoes to pollinate them outdoors.
У нас на Урале нет столько солнца в марте, как у вас, да и окна не до пола, но я выращиваю разные растения на окне. Но Ваш способ полива мне больше понравился. Он место экономит. А я просто ставлю бутылку с растением ( в дне делаю отверстия) в большую емкость, в которую наливаю воду. Проростки тоже делаю. Спасибо за идею лепешки с проростками. И за мироощущение тепла, покоя и гармонии в душе.

I love growing my own planties! Last year we planted cherry tomatoes, salad and cucumber in the garden and it was awesome! Inside I had my herbs: mint, basil, chive and lemonbalm. Unfortunately, I do not know what has happened this year, but none of my indoors planties want to stay alive. Except my mint. And the chive is also holding on, but barely. I think it may have something to do with the psychotic weather we have been having, going from coldish to scorching hot and then back to coldish.
I think I will put some of them in the garden and hopefully they will thrive that way.
I'm also very curious about growing sprouts now that I have seen your video. It looks like such a fun and easy thing. I may need to look at what seeds I have can work in this manner.

I love this. In the USA an I just moved from NY to Florida. I left behind a huge outdoor garden in NY, but I will try making these and put them on my sheltered balcony. There's no recycling in Florida and it's so sad to just throw these containers away. Can't wait to start and repurpose them doing this.
