Am I the only one disappointed in the videos they chose to show them? Like there are a lot of his MVs out there that exhibited a lot more of his beauty, creativity, dance, vocals etc.

MJ was an icon. And the really mind blowing part is not only was he an incredible talent in dancing, singing, and performing, but he did it all with absolute detail and perfection AT THE SAME TIME. Those incredible dance moves with complete precision while he was singing. I grew up with his music, but I think the most telling performance I ever saw was on stage with Britney Spears. It literally looked like a child trying to dance beside a master. And he was so professional and even kind in how he dealt with it.

Michael Jackson will never be duplicated. He was a pioneer in choreography, passion, and visual performance. I will never forget the day "Billie Jean" came out. Always loved him as a performer with the Jackson Five, but when he broke out on his own, the world fell in love. The closest person I can think of in dance is Taemin. He moves his feet like Michael, and I know Michael would have loved the passion from Taemin. Thank you for showing Michael and the reactions! There are so many more to show of his music videos. Also, Janet Jackson was a pioneer along with Michael, her brother. Please cover her as well!

@@andresav7_ if you don’t know, please don’t comment. I grew up listening to MJ and agree there’s no one on his level or better, but I truly feel MJ would *adore* Taemin. I also happen to agree with the OP, he’s the only person I can think of that would come close-and I feel MJ himself would agree with that. Taemin is truly gifted and has looked up to MJ from the start. In fact, as a trainee he would moonwalk and dance on the way to and from the studio - he lived and breathed dance and is known for being one of the hardest working idols in all of Korea to this day. I can’t think of any other artist from any other country as dedicated to perfecting his craft.
KPop today in general very much owes a lot to MJ. The lean physiques, the dances both solo and group, the manner of makeup for males and the showmanship of outfits were not in the mainstream until MJ introduced it to the world.

@@denny414 That must begin from inside the culture itself. Look at how black youth are taught to glorify corporate entertainers and sport figures. Where do you see the same energy devoted to the astronauts, inventors, doctors, poets? When MJ was alive many black comedians used him as a cheap punchline. And look at how Asians were treated in the recent pandemic. I think when videos such as this one are shown; its much better to use it to create bridges. Trying to shame people because they actually gave reverence to a black entertainer is another form of gatekeeping.

I think Michael would be very proud of the whole K-Pop scene. Seeing how he influenced so many artists in so many ways would’ve made him very happy. So sad that he is not with us to see it 😢
The level of perfection he inspired in everyone involved in his projects, is unreal. From what I've heard from people who worked with him, he didn't demand it, he just knew it was possible and expected it, and every single person worked their buts off to achieve it. He showcased new styles, went out and found people who were essentially street preformers, and let them and their talents shine.
I never had the honor of working with him, and it's mostly stuff I heard from my moms friends who did, but they said it after he died, so grain of salt. But from what they told me, he was never afraid to be upstaged, found the humor in himself when he messed up, and was always excited to be shown something new, especially in dance.

Fun Fact: Michael Jackson DID NOT CREATE the Moonwalk. It was the lead dancer of Soul Train who first performed that move when MJ was young and he loved it so much he went to the guy himself to learn it in secret. Nobody knew until years later.
I remember reading in James Brown's autobiography that it was the reverse version of another dance at the time. It was an interesting read.
I'm not sure that's true, but it is well known that Jackson would ask anyone to teach him things if he wanted to learn, from beat boxing to break dancing, he would humble himself and learn it from anyone willing to teach him it, then master it and make it his own.

It's the fact MJ makes such intricate and difficult moves look so fluid and easy that literally blows my mind. I truely don't think we'll ever see another MJ or at least not in my lifetime.

MJ was the greatest. I loved him since I was a kid. My mom didn't get it until she saw him live, and then she was screaming as loud as everyone else in the audience. Even if you were a skeptic, seeing it in front of you was transformational. The guy was really a magical performer. He set the bar so high I haven't seen anyone else come close. So much of the pop culture today in music was influenced by him. He also understood audience on a level I haven't seen again. He knew how to anticipate what the audience wanted and would play with those expectations. Seeing him was something I'll never forget.

I honestly don’t think people understand the degree of Michael Jackson’s influence. He is literally a daily part of our lives, whether you like it or not. Everyday I literally hear Michael’s name being mentioned in some form and I see something related to him often as well. It’s truly unfortunate that an icon, but humble and loving human had to leave us. ❤

Being the age I am, I grew up in MJ’s heyday, stupid pun intended, and was completely obsessed with his music and performances, and it’s so interesting to watch every new generation catch on to just how talented he was, and realize the cultural impact he’s had all around the world that most people don’t even realize how deep an impact he had, but it always seems like dancers, no matter what style they study, get it much more than others, I love that, and they were right about MJ’s moves being everywhere in kpop, like one of them mentioned a few examples, but even subtle moves inspired by him are in almost every kpop choreography, cuz like they said he basically invented a new style of dance by combining several other styles in a way that hadn’t been done before, and it’s awesome to see the love and impact of his talent still inspire people around the world

Jason Derulo made a song called "Let's Shut Up and Dance" that featured SM's Lay and NCT 127, and the entire song pays homage to Michael Jackson by celebrating music and dance across the boundaries of culture and language. It's amazing to see the impact that Michael Jackson has on musicians and artists, regardless of who they are or where they come from!

@@stilllearning2561 I included NCT 127 under "SM", silly goose. It's called a list. SM's "Lay and NCT 127" works better than SM's Lay and SM's NCT 127. Lay is still under SM, so I decided to go for efficiency. You can choose to be butthurt over something so petty, and I am okay with that. For the moment, he is still under his EXO contract, but he's doing his own stuff too, which is why I chose not to say EXO for this specific context.
I may not be the biggest fan of Jason Derulo right now because of semi recent situation but this song was fire 🔥🔥 🔥

제가 유치원 다닐때인가? 마이클 잭슨이 한국에서 공연을 했었는데 아무것도 모르는 저를 삼촌이 공연장을 대리고 갔었죠.
처음에는 한국 가수들 나올때는 졸기만 하고 삼촌에게 계속 집에 가자고 했었다가 마이클 잭슨 나오고 춤추는걸 보고는 입벌리고 눈만 껌뻑이면서 공연끝날때까지 본 기억이 아직도 잊혀지지 않네요.

그렇죠 진짜 보컬이 보컬이... 소리도 소리지만 .. 호흡이 사람의 호흡이 아닙니다... 사람이 성대로박자를 탈수도 있지만 호흡이 노래부르는 내내 들숨날숨 물아일체로 박자 타는게 말이안됨.
많이들 주목하지 않는 사실이지만 마이클잭슨은 사실 그림도 잘 그렸습니다. 그냥 연예인이 그리는 수준이 아니라 미술교육을 받은 프로수준으로 그렸습니다.
자유로운 낙서가 대부분이긴 한데 인체와 명암, 구도,톤을 천부적으로 이해하고 있었습니다. 참 말이 안되는 천재 예술가였어요.
애초에 어릴때부터 목소리 하나로 잭슨5를 이끌면서 동시에 빌보드 씹어드신분인데 그분을 보컬로 인정을 안하면ㅋㅋ 애초에 해외에서도 마잭 목소리를 따라할수조차 없다는것만봐도 얼마나 유니크한지 알수있죠
그리고 악기를 배운적도 업슨데 그 악기의 리듬감이나 기본적인 음 전부다 이해할수 있다는것부터...놀랬음

MJ is and always be King of Pop, there are alot of great groups and artist out there like bts who always talked about the king of pop mj but none of them can match MJ. And when i hear they say they favs are the king of pop i just cant agree to that (you know who you are) i guess different generations we was born in but MJ gave pop culture what it is today.
