@@mintyoongi5191 Oh no, these ladies don't look ugly I mean that in most of these western makeup challenges they either do Korean style makeup with a pop of a color like blue or a very warm brown and call it western style or they choose a style/mix of colors that don't suit the idols they're doing makeup on so it looks bad on them (even though the ladies are obviously gorgeous). The fact that so many people do really bad western makeup on idols honestly makes me feel kinda like it's rigged.

i'm sorry but the girl doing the makeup did grosseries mistakes, look for the Chaewon's eyes: the jewelry is not align, in one eye got a curve and in the other eye is just a line. And the Yena's face it's not smudged, you can see darker spots without blurring. But it was a cool experience!

I keep saying this but Yena is the most photogenic in April. She has the type of facial structure that can match a wide variety of styles; try looking at their past and present album photoshoots and while Naeun's face has more appeal, Yena's studio photos have an ethereal quality to them. If she learns how to project well, she'd be perfect.

My sister and I watched this together (she's a make-up artist) and seriously the contour was not blended enough which really stood out WAY too much, the winged eyeliner also didn't suit Chaewon's (blonde hair) eye shape, and I personally did not like the lips on Yena (red hair) at all. It looks too drawn on? I know it's a bold lip, but it looks like fake lips, it's very overdrawn but not in a natural/realistic looking way. It honestly reminds me of clown lips. The eyebrows also look ashy which doesn't suit her skin and hair as much, and look blocky. I do however think that Yena's eyeshadow REALLY suits her :)!

Itโs because the lady that was doing the makeup only does makeup mostly for Latina stars and since most latinas are kinda more tan than them the contour just seemed way darker but she couldโve blended it out more
That's how a lot of women do it in Mexico. Coming from America I kept thinking 'holy shit these women seriously like their makeup like this?'. Not everyone there did that but it was still very common to see.

It would have look better if the girl knows how to blend the the eyeshadow and contour shades more. I know Western makeup tend to have darker brows but it still can be precise while being dark without looking blocky, too dark. This kinda make them looking like clowns not really sexy and fierce. Itโs definitely has a concept of Western makeup but its a bad Western makeup

I'm not even trying to hate, I was genuinely excited to see their transformation because I was curious how western features would look like on someone that usually wears Korean style makeup. I think she could have shown the beauty of western makeup better if the products were blended out better and she didn't put a lot of contour.

To be fair, Asian eyes can be difficult to work with if you havenโt worked with a lot of Asian clients before. Like for real, Iโm asian with fairly hooded eyes, and I canโt do eye shadow for shit lol. At least not the western eye makeup. I think the makeup artist put too much shadow on initially, so if she were to blend it out more, thereโs just not enough lid space and itโd look more messy and crowded. And thatโs speaking from personal experience unfortunately๐ When I was just starting off with makeup, I always put a lot more shadow than necessary in an attempt to emulate various western makeup youtubers. Whenever I tried to blend it out, there just wouldnโt be enough room. So I can kinda understand the makeup artist here. Itโs a struggle ngl

Yes they were. Keep in mind theyโre also sitting under studio lights. So everything is intense. Also youโre looking at their blush. You blend the blush into your contour so their is no lines of demarcation and everything is seamless.

Despite the blending everyone is pointing out, they looked absolutely stunning after the makeover! They looked very Latin. And they obviously loved it as it wasnโt something theyโre used to.
Edit: but also they shouldโve included a wardrobe makeover because their new looks didnโt quite match the soft and innocent looks of their outfits.

Honestly, it was really fun seeing their reactions to the new makeup especially when Chaewon was checking herself out lol. If I had to pick though I would choose the scenes where the Latin makeup is compared to the Korean makeup on them side by side. It is seriously amazing how much makeup can change the appearance. But I mean they look great either way :))

I appreciate how the makeup artist is asking the girls questions, and comparing it with Latin american styles. Like when she asked yena herfavorite color but then mentions that for Becky g's look they would use colors ranging from orange, brown ,gold and so on. The atmosphere was kinda awkward but not in a bad way, it made it interesting for me. The girls were talking back and forth and answering the lady even though they spoke in two different languages. I'm sure they had a translator to help but it was still nice. I think the latin makeup style suits them. If the blonde one had darker hair, maybe the eyebrows would look more natural but overall I think they both look good. The styles are glamorous but also not over the top and you can definitely see the difference from their faces before and after. Before their faces looked younger, and face shape rounder and pretty. With the makeup they look more mature,bolder and their bone structure stands out nicely. The makeup artist also was sloppy or rough. And explained to them the things she was doing

Even though there are many blend problems with the makeup, it actually looks very very realistic for western makeup or โLatinaโ makeup (obviously not all Latina's wear their makeup like that lol, but majority in my community do).
Itโs so cool and interesting, seeing other cultures doing transformations on other cultures!

I feel like this is why I always get that Latina vibe from Hwasa. Before I got into mamamoo I always thought she was half Latina half Korean but she just uses a lot of western makeup and it suits her so well!
