I deeply respect how you wait for your dad to eat first. Our cultures r similar. My dad was served his food first always. If he has to work late, before our food is served, his food is served first in a separate pot, then ours will be served.
If my parents were both not there during meal times ,we'd still serve theirs first in their separate pot. As kids it was routine for us. Looking back now as an adult I feel so grateful for that tradition because it sort of showed how deeply we respected our parents.
I only wished they were still around so I can thank them.
