I didn’t know the kicker was allowed not to use a tee. I looked at the ball before it was kicked, and I was like 🤔🤨.
I swear you're the only other person I've seen that "gets" what happened - Falcons didn't want to touch it because it looked like it was going to stop short, since it would be a live ball if they muffed it. Except, thanks to the deceptive kick(that other teams have since tried to copy), it did go 10 yards, and they let a CJ Goodwin be 'closest man' at the last second when it got to the line.
The Falcons fucked up, no doubt about that, gotta have better awareness of the ball's position vs the live ball line, of where the opposing players are, and you obviously gotta jump on it when you can tell it's gonna go over 10yds - but they aren't utter buffoons that "didn't know they could get the ball before 10 yds".
I've tried explaining it(and, mind you, I'm a Cowboys fan lol), but no one wants to hear it - I'm sure it feels too good to actually believe that, just from watching it on TV, they know football better than professional players who have been playing it their whole lives. And, obviously society as a whole just loves shitting on people, so there's that too.

I've watched a lot of Cowboys games over the years but I don't think I've ever watched a greater Dallas miracle in one game before today.
As a cowboys fan, I think tony romos 5 interceptions in 2007 in a Monday night game had this exact feel and probably better cause it was a Monday night game on the road against the bills and we still came back and won somehow on a last second field goal that to me has been the most miracle games I've ever seen so far in my life 👌
