Then on the measurement, they still said it was short, even though it was pretty clearly not by their own measurement. Then the review crew finally woke up and decided to end the charade by spotting the ball back where it should have been to begin with. Officiating this season has been an absolute embarrassment.

the refs almost managed to completely botch this entire sequence. they spotted the ball nearly 1 full yard off of where it should’ve been, almost allowed the titans to run another play without reviewing the play, and they didn’t even properly measure the distance since they placed the chain several inches to the left of the ball instead of adjacent to it. i was so scared that joe haden was gonna get shafted by the refs for what seems like the millionth time in his career, that could’ve been the worst call of the season.
