Editorial With Sujit Nair | After Agency Action, More Than 2/3rd Of 26 Companies Bought Poll Bonds

In a good democratic nation the ruling government by now would have been forced to resign but not in an autocratic country like India. It has been 3 weeks since the bond issue has surfaced and not a crap has happened.

Sir ji...it's amply evident, no matter how much you educate people..there won't be free & fair elections, no level playing field...all opposition should unite & boycot elections entirely...let the world know..that India is not a democracy

When the electoral bond scheme has been deemed unconstitutional by the SC, the logical consequence should have been to recover the illicit money from all the parties; especially when much damage has already been done in the interim by virtue of these monies being deployed in elections vitiating the level playing field. And more disconcertingly even in this round of election they are bound to play a nefarious role unduly favouring those in power.
Unfortunately, the SC has been silent on this crucial aspect making this verdict too little, too late, useless and a farce.

How come Adani , Ambani Tata’s are missing from the list. Are they not in love with patriotic ideas and strengthen Democracy.

Companies who are victims of extortion can't be treated at par with the actual crooks. I feel.

This could be a clever ploy by BJP in forcing companies to pay opposition as well to implicate them along with BJP in case this whole thing hits the fan...like now. The big bucks anyway are coming to them via cash and other regular channels.

I am surprise from where did so much money these companies got? Is it black money? These companies seems they don't implement any CRS work. Why they pay so much money to these political parties? When there are millions and millions poor people who are surviving only 1 square meal a day. Bravo to this BJP/NDA government for this political bond introduction system in our country. Very corrupt practices and very unfortunate.

Could it be that BJP would have distributed some portion of what they received to other political parties too…just to cover themselves 🤷‍♂️

Dear sir, please make a video on electoral bond scams by medicine companies. There are instances where medicines were allegedly approved without proper testing, leading to serious health risks.

Come clean / throw more light on shell companies' contribution.

According to me they want to be in good books of all the political parties.

On March 15, The Hindu reported that many top purchasers of electoral bonds had also been under the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) or the Income Tax (I-T) Department’s scanner at some point in the last five years. Of the six firms so listed, some had purchased all the bonds in the days following the searches while others had purchased a significant amount much later. A closer look at the electoral bond data released indicates more companies - including many pharmaceutical ones - purchased bonds as well as were at the receiving end of ED/I-T and/or other regulatory action.
Now one can expect the quality of medicines coming from such companies. Is this the DEVELOPMENT, GROWTH, PROGRESS OF SO CALLED GUARANTEEMAN?

These companies are in the know ,that they have to pay by way of bonds to safeguard their company/ies,if they want to survive. So whether they like it or not ,they are forced to pay up

Both our PM and HM have made curroption and extroion legal by introducing electrol bonds and demonitisation.

Every political parties are the same except the CPM , at least they came out from this type of money laundering and filed a petition with ADR before the Honorable Supreme court. When public come out from the trap of political parties and vote for some geniune and honest person, who stands in the election as a independent candidate without any party base and fight for the Nation. Shouldn't action be taken against those who accepted EBs as bribe. In earlier years, people would be outraged over such a Scam. Today many are defending these culprits.

Sir Electrol Bond's is Money paid by companies availing benefit of Tax exemption, so this money is Tax money, all Amendment made for only benefit of political party, if it is unconstitutional, then the money suppose to go back to goverment not any Political party, so all raids involved by Agencies to be investigated and only independent enquiry can bring the truth, so need SIT investigation by SC.

It is the black money that was lying abroad came back to India via EB. There is quid pro quo. Case shd be registered under the prevention of corruption act. PMLA also shd be invoked. Who wd enforce against the party holding reigns of ED? This is exactly what happened in Hitlers Germany . Millions and millions suffered. Dharma/ karma grinds slowly.

Secondly the SC judgement I.feel is incomplete. A).When a group of robbers were caught and the.law enforcers find lot of.stolen money that money has to be confiscated and put in govt treasury.
B) who ever the money belongs to if it's not properly explained and accounted then heavy penalty should be levied if not imprisonment.

Some raids could have happened post a firm paying money to create the aliby "that those who paid monies were also raided so there is no quid pro-quo as such". This aliby is what certain BJP leaders were using; so that explains it. 🙂
