Edit: WAIT! It just clicked! Maybe it’s because Jake is the most self aware in the group, a bit like Jin in the BTU? Cause he even said in an interview too that his role is “the narrator”. While everyone else is living it up in their new vampiric lifestyles, Jake is either against it and is simply watching all from the sidelines, or he’s the one that dragged them into this.
