This is an interesting, chill song. It's fresh and gives a late 90s/early 2000s vibe. Interesting marketing as well with knowing nothing about them, but glad that Min Heejin and Hybe released it this way because it definitely made me curious and it did catch my attention (yeah, that's no pun intended)

Everything about this song is chill. Their costumes, casual. Their makeup, minimal. Their hair style, ordinary (all having natural long brown black hair untied loose). Something that we don't usually get to see in kpop. This felt more authentic and close to reality.

@@moehat6980 They are the group from ADOR entertainment (part of Hybe Labels) that we were waiting for since a long time. Because their CEO and creative director was the creative director of a lot of projects from SM artist (Shinee, f(x), Girls' Generation..) so people were very curious about them. But instead of announcing their debut with a teaser they released it directly, making everyone surprised !
The thing is that they don't have only 1 debut song but 3 ! The second one Hybe Boy was released already too. For now they're released exclusively on KRplus with their music videos.
On August 1st will be the full EP official release, and the start of promotions.
Basically they're debuting with 3 title tracks and tons of promotions around it.
Min heejin is a mastermind. Newjeans will be revealed with music videos allthroughout July with a total of 4 music videos. Love to see how creative this group will come out

와 진짜 민희진이 말했던 정반합식 기획력이 더 한층 공감되는 데뷔 그룹이고, 데뷔곡이다.. 요즘처럼 걸크러쉬 내지는 콘셉츄얼함 같은 트렌드의 반대편에 있는듯한 이지리스닝과 자연스러움을 추구하는 것이 이 그룹의 특징인듯.. 어떤 노스탤지어 적인 감성을 기본적으로 갖고 있는데, 이렇게 12시 자정에 공개하는 것도 예전 프로모션스럽고.. 멤버들하고 직접 친해지면서 프로듀싱을 했다고 하는데 그만큼 자연스러움이 묻어나고 무엇보다 민희진 특유의 세련됨을 맘껏 느낄 수 있어서 좋음.. 포월즈 이후에 그런 세련됨을 어디서 느낄 수 있나 했더니 난 이 그룹에게서 어떤 긍정적인 미래가 보이는 듯..

I don't think I've ever seen a teen/coming of age movie kinda concept like this before. They pulled it off really well! Not to mention how calm and catchy this song is. It's kind of refreshing seeing something other than the stereotypical experimental girl crush styled songs that have been coming out recently (don't get me wrong I literally love so many songs like that too!) Also I kinda like their group name. It's unique and sorta early 00s-ish. I'm super excited to see what comes from these talented girls!

SNSD, Gfriend, SES, FinkL, CSJH The Grace, Apink, Lovelyz, Cosmic Girls, Fromis_9, etc. etc. all debuted with their natural hair colors (or some in each dyed it a natural hair color like brown or blonde), did not have a girl crush concept, and their debut songs were all "pure" and "delicate" and "fresh" LOL.
These girls are refreshing in the current kpop scene, but they are definitely not doing anything new. Korea and kpop especially is all about trends. They're just bringing an old trend back to stand out from the rest. Show the girls being "natural" and "fresh" for the debut, and in a couple of comebacks, include some new concept comebacks (yes, including girl crush) + get some of the members to dye their hair to stand out, etc. Guarantee you this'll be the case for NewJeans too. Like it is Min Hee Jin, the ex-creative director of SM, who made this group. She's very intelligent and KNOWS how this industry works from the inside out and how to create a successful group. It's a formula that's worked since the start of kpop. lol. Also, their sound is very old school kpop too. Honestly, NOTHING in music is 100% "original."

This is a really calming debut - nostalgic but definitely refreshing. I love how there’s so much originality, like it’s honestly so calm and cool to see. The change of choreography for the second verse and the overall vibe is unlike anything I’ve seen this year from the new groups!! Gives me childhood feels but also summery feels too, I’m absolutely dying for it!!

txt and itzy are better representative of gen z societal struggle and new gen z aesthetics in general. NewJeans is using the rise in y2k aesthetic and bringing the early 2000s trends back. We saw the rise of y2k aesthetic with twentry five twenty one
we need to hear more songs from newjeans to see what direction they're going. It's too early to say anything yet.

The most original debut of the last few years of kpop. Everyone was doing the same thing and these girls came up with something almost like a new concept. There is no "pretend" in this music video nor the girls feel like they are acting like someone they are not. This feels real, and the music is different from what the kpop audience is used to. I hope NewJeans get the attention they deserve
Literally this sounds like something more "underrated" artist would make. I listen to a lot of R&B, Soul Korean music and this had the same vibes as those. I dont know what genre this is but i love it.

Min Heejin is truly such a genius. Loved her work when she was still in SM & worked with groups such as F(x) and Red velvet. I'm amazed by the unique marketing, dropping a MV without any introduction. This group will be so unique. Love everything about them already, the MV, the outfits, the song.
