I hope people supported her more now, like how they loved Hwasa and Jessi for their unique and exotic beauty. Yes! Not only does she have a 'great voice' in terms of range etc. but more importantly the way she can express herself through her voice is amazing. That takes a huge amount of control and expertise, but at the same time it just has to flow naturally... the singer really has to be feeling it so the audience can feel it. Hyolyn is one of my favourite pop singers from anywhere in the world because of this special quality her voice has... so smooth, almost airy at times, but still with depth and texture, effortlessly powerful and so infused with emotion, soaring one moment and whispering the next.

For me, 1 - 7 felt like her entry to the entertainment industry until sistar disbanded.
Like 1 was her trainee days up til sistar debut, 4 was their continuous success and their group labeled summer queens, 5 was when she was slowly overworked to the point of her voice started breaking and straining, 6 was insane love days, 7 was their disbandment... might just be me tho.

When I praise the song, I praise how amazing the artist is. I see all the love poured for them, praise given to them, and it feels so fake? Like they're praising them not knowing what they're doing. They're praising them for someone else to feel how great they are?
When I want to praise someone who sings and performs, it's not because they did this and that or they wrote the song or they're great for whatever. That's my perception of what's great in my eyes, which could be stifling for an artist to keep up to. I am projecting my ideals on to the artist while they get praised in a stifling way. They keep up to all what the public wants from them, what they look up to them for - their looks, their lyric writing, their energy, their rap, style.. Everyone loves them for one thing, how cool they are. How well they woo everyone. How well they get the spotlight. All everyone looks for is how cool someone is or how awkward someone is.
When I love someone who sings and dances... It's not because they are better than someone else. How there are loads of artists and how watching them is like entertainment to me, like binge eating junk.
I just love them. I just love how they express.
I don't understand why singing and dancing has become an industry, it's not a competition on who is so awestriking and who else can beat them to rise to the top for fame. It's an art form.

this song sounds even better on recordings of her live performances compared with the studio version. how does she do it. what can she not do. seriously one of the most talented and hardworking musicians in the industry

WIthout the people talking about it in the comments, I honestly wouldn't have connected this song with Sia. The part when she says caution my baby and Sia's one two three one two three sound kind of similar because of the synth/effect put on the voices -> plus the transition between prechorus to chorus -> but I still have to put in effort to see a connection. Do I think she and the music producers were inspired by Sia's Chandelier, both in concept and the progression of the music? Yes sure, honestly why not. In the music industry, especially the kpop industry, things like concepts have never belonged solely to one artist and over time even in the western music industries, concepts get repeated but it doesn't mean the artists are blatantly copying one another. I can still see Sia and Hyolyn distinctly as artists, and I love both songs for different reasons. Like I don't even think the song/melodies alone are similar enough to consider this a sample of Chandelier. I would consider this more of an issue if it was more similar or if hyolyn refused to acknowledge that she has been inspired by Sia, but she has admitted it in the past. I think that even if she was inspired by Sia (as this is one of her first songs in English and that would make sense) she absolutely killed the concept. She wrote a good song with good lyrics and a pleasing melody that does sound different from Chandelier, and though she used aspects from Sia's chandelier video with the short hair and the choreography, it was a different kind of choreography, with different color schemes and a different kind of setting (let's not forget the the entirety of Sia's video is a choreography performed by one person without showing the singer herself. She changed it enough that she made it hers and I appreciate that. Artists are constantly taking inspiration from one another and while i do feel that they should be punished for blatant plagiarism or if they refuse to acknowledge that they were heavily inspired by another artist, the world of art and music would be so limited if artists, singers, and songwriters weren't able to reinvent pre-existing concepts.

OMFG this is my first time hearing this song and I LOVE IT!!!! Hyolyn is an amazing artist she is one of the many Kpop solo artist who puts their heart and soul into what they do. I really like the message the song is giving too, she is such an icon to look up to. Everyone makes mistakes but in the end you must take a look at yourself and say it's time to do better. And even if it's not your mistake but you are the one getting hurt you have to know when you've reached your own limits, love yourself. Know your worth and don't let others dictate how you live or how you should feel. Hyolyn is very talented not to mention her dancing is always superb. But let me stop rambling on.
