He essentially does the opposite of improv. Improv is always agreeing and pressing forward. He constantly says no and contradicts and it's this subversion of expectations that makes it so hilarious.

I don't think his responses are scripted, but they're definitely practised. He's been through a LOT of interviews, and most of them are asking the exact same stuff over and over again.
@@Milamberinx That's a great point! They say that by the time we hit 30 we've exhausted about 95% of the dialogue options in any given 'everyday' conversation. And similarly I imagine for the type of interview circuits actors repeatedly go through. So we tend to fall back on familiar anecdotes and quips that we've honed over time.
But who knows? I'm sure there are entire fields of research dedicated to the study of social interactions that I'm blissfully unaware of.

The casting for Deadpool could never have been more of a perfect choice.
I love how this man just opens his mouth and lets everything in his brain just fall out and be honestly hilarious.
