I think the johto starters just need more viable options in their movepool. Give Meganium Spore and better hidden ability, give Typhlosion better stat boosting moves and hidden ability, give Feraligatr Strong Jaw.

Jon 1106 they did it in gen 6, starters didn't have megas either. And the way gmax works also forces you catch gmax specific mons so I imagine they didn't want to make people replace their starters right away

I'm sure there will still be deluxe style release when this is done but at least this doesn't force people who already have sword and shield to buy another game that is basically the same like they've done in the past. Ok I was a big fan of the breath of the wild dlc but there is no way that dlc was better. The only thing I really remember was redoing a lot of things, fighting the shrine guy (which was super awesome) and the motorcycle, while this is basically a entirely new story
Vast majority of the comments here, specially the most upvoted ones are not even Pokemon fans but trolls craving attention jumping into the hate wagon. You can tell because they are all complaining about things that have been present in the franchise since freaking Gen 1. Pokemon games have always had 2 versions, always had an expansion in the form of a third game and you can get the new Pokemon without having the expansion, just like in previous games. But somehow SwnSh is the worst offender because.. instead of selling you the expansion as a standalone game they... are making it DLC and cheaper? Yeah, they are truly greedy monsters. Worse than EA. /s
It’s way better than a third game, or completely new games because you spend half the money, and you get to play with the same save file, and don’t have to do all of the gyms all over again.
Preordered it already... only pokemon game that simplified ev and iv grinding for competitive battling, just thinking about all the hours in the 3ds ev grinding right after 100 hours of iv breeding just for a perfect party... I'll take this over hours of grinding anytime....
I honestly can see the complaints but then again this is the first time they have done dlc. It looks amazing and I’m excited to see what happens next. I would rather buy the dlc than a third game for 60 dollars with very few changes.
Mocker's Jay Parker at least the games ago were complete and had quality, this game was so empty and the real exciting content is locked behind a paywall. If people gonna buy the DLCs, an ultraversion is real for sure. Also the fans buy everything. So GF milks the cow by only polish their games. Which means less ressource and more money. It's really not, you can play multi-player with people who bought the dlc. If it was cod it would be 60$ with separate online servers Cod and sport games are worse parts of the gaming world, this doesn't even come close
They said the dlc is gonna be huge. We don't always get huge dlc. Plus this might be big as galar. Remember there's england,scotland, welsh, ireland. The galar part that is in the main game is england. So these two dlc might be base off of scotland and ireland.

Hey I'd rather dlc than another game entirely. That octo expansion was beautiful and long as hell. And the dlc for breath of the wild was way longer and more than I expected it to be. And a lot harder.

@Follow the howl That's probably what it is, but we can't say for sure because there is no official confirmation of this as of right now (from what I've seen so far), but you're most likely right considering how the older pokemon could have been patched in after like a few weeks or just expanded the dex before the games hit the shelves.
I have a prediction those two new rivals we saw aren't just rivals. They're also new gym leaders the one in Sword is a poison type gym leader, and the one in Shield is a Psychic type gym leader. Which means we might also see gym leaders that use normal, electric, ground, flying, bug, and steel types as well.

Many pokemon could have been the evolution of others but they didn't. E.g Alomomola shoud have been the evolution of Luvdisc, or even in the latest ones, pinkurchin could have been the evolution of pjukumuku. I hate it that so many pokemon still have no evolution.

The Pokémon cut are gonna be coded back into the game via free updates, and can be transferred in from past games so long as you have Pokémon Home and Pokémon Bank.

Mocker's Jay Parker at least the games ago were complete and had quality, this game was so empty and the real exciting content is locked behind a paywall. If people gonna buy the DLCs, an ultraversion is real for sure. Also the fans buy everything. So GF milks the cow by only polish their games. Which means less ressource and more money. Yeah, i see where its going to.

Hey I'd rather dlc than another game entirely. That octo expansion was beautiful and long as hell. And the dlc for breath of the wild was way longer and more than I expected it to be. And a lot harder.

I have a prediction those two new rivals we saw aren't just rivals. They're also new gym leaders the one in Sword is a poison type gym leader, and the one in Shield is a Psychic type gym leader. Which means we might also see gym leaders that use normal, electric, ground, flying, bug, and steel types as well.

toatally, especially considering that those damn useless pokemon even got their own movie. When I first saw an image of sigilyph I thought unown would get an evolution, but nope. Many pokemon could have been the evolution of others but they didn't. E.g Alomomola shoud have been the evolution of Luvdisc, or even in the latest ones, pinkurchin could have been the evolution of pjukumuku. I hate it that so many pokemon still have no evolution.

The Pokémon cut are gonna be coded back into the game via free updates, and can be transferred in from past games so long as you have Pokémon Home and Pokémon Bank.
So the game was cut to sell more content later destiny style lol
