i'm reading so many of y'alls stories about living with chronic illness as a kid, and wow, my heart goes out to you all. it's so dang hard, and so so scary. i hope your quality of life has improved since then, i hope everything from taking medicine to taking time outside has found to be helpful. chronic illness is rough, and holy crap are y'all amazing for continuing on despite it all.

I was the best student in my school since I was little. But I was overly stressed about exams and practice exams. I never wanted to succeed. I wouldn't study. It all started in seventh grade. It was the night before the math exam. My hand got itchy and it started to spread. Both my parents work in the hospital. They thought it was normal. They gave me medicine(Zyrtec) and I started to use it. They said we don't need to take you to the hospital, you will fall behind in school. They said we'll take you on the semester break. A few months passed and It was semester. I got so sick in that semester. I hadn't drunk my pills and my whole body was covered in rashes. I did a little research about that rashes. I found out It was Urticaria. After that days they took me to the hospital. Doctor confirmed it was Urticaria. He said He said, "Have you had these for two or three days?" You had to see his face when i Said "two months". Unfortunately, there is no cure for urticaria. (Sorry for the typos)

GOD. I’m watching this video for the second time and It’s finally setting in that I relate to this SO MUCH. I have a super rare “disease” called EOE. It’s so rare that most doctors I know haven’t even heard of it and I have to constantly explain it to people. I also have asthma and am always sick. I spent the past 2 years of school mostly at home because of this and have has multiple people ask “are you going to be here next year” and stuff like that. Its horrible to be the “sick kid” and I hate getting bullied for it. I’m so sorry you have to go through that.

I grew up with asthma (and eczema) too. In my case, it was manageable with Ventolin and Flovent (shoutout to the 90s), but my mom's was a lot more serious. Luckily I've mostly grown out of my asthma, and my mom's has gotten much better since she moved out to the country and tried acupuncture (of all things). For me, my food allergies and scoliosis were much more difficult to navigate.

I remember when I found out about my asthma. I found out in 8th grade while having bronchitis. Turned out I should've been diagnosed with asthma way sooner, like grade school sooner. I ended up having to have a breathing treatment the very next month cause my lungs just closed on me. I also found out that I had a weak immune system, which helped my mom understand why I was always getting sick the most out of me and my sisters. Asthma is definitely not fun and having a small immune system with it does make life a little harder, but I do have people I'm able to talk to about it.

I grew out of my childhood asthma (I had weak lungs from being a very small preemie), but my brother didn't. He couldn't take a lot of the other stuff because he was allergic to most of it, so he did a lot of Xopenex in a nebulizer. And lemme tell you, I loved that thing. It was very comforting to me since I had to do it so long that I continued to do it for a long time after I didn't need to anymore; my mom would always ask if I wanted to come sit with my brother and have a nebulizer treatment. I still do miss them, honestly.

Excellent presentation, growing up I was never a fan of perfume or cologne. In my late 30's working in a remote camp after I had gone to sleep my roommate returned from out on the town with a lot of cologne on him. I woke early in the morning and took around 45 minutes to stumble outside half dressed, to hospital, blew about 150 (very red zone), treated until I got to about 450 (for me still yellow zone) and released (the nurses were what? no way!)... Well at healthy I bounce the needle off the end 😜. I became much more sensative to perfumes and colognes and other smelly products, luckily scent free workplace became a thing. Did end up in ER several times down around 300, bit of a pain convincing some doctors that it was a serious asthma attack and not emphazema.

I went to Diabetes Camp weirdly enough!😂
I loved it and didn’t think much about it being for diabetics! Though that might be because most of the learning came more from how we all needed to be consistently monitored. I learned more by listening to my camp mates talk to the nurses and counselors than my doctors!
They did some health class stuff but it was mostly fun! Like they would blow up this maze that represented different parts and systems of the body that were affected. It was like that episode of the Magic School Bus!
My main problem was always food. As an autistic kid with a strict diet it went about as well as you can imagine.

I now have asthma again after suffering two asthma attacks with no asthma medication at the time that was brought on by cold weather, after having it very mildly during my late teen years for a while. Just a friendly reminder to those who have (very) mild asthma with no medication to get checked. As a kid I was always so jealous of everyone without asthma - the fact that they could recover so quickly after finishing a PE/gym class shocked me every time and still does to this day.

I really wanted to see their adventures and how they fixed the demon world, but instead we got a slide show that vaguely covered the things they did. I’m also kinda sad that Ray didn’t get more screen time near the ending of season 2, he’s an interesting character and would have loved to see more of Ray and Emma.

Ive never had asthma, but when I was about seven I had this thing called “night terrors”. It was basically a mix of sleep walking/talking, sleep paralysis, insomnia because I was terrified of my dreams, and while I was having an episode I would uncontrollably vomit. It was hell for my parents, and my siblings thought I was possessed because it happened every night for 3 months. I don’t remember it happening more than three times but my dad has 50+ recordings saved on a hardrive from most of the nights that it happened. My mom still refuses to believe it was anything more than a stomach flu, but I have the mental scar to prove it.

Same, I feel you, eventually grew out of it but went on for maybe 8-10 years I had a mild episode of them coming back in my late teens but only for a few months and not nearly as bad, the absolute worst, that stuff really does scar you, I'm 28 now and I still remember so much of them, the sickness, the uncontrollable crying and shaking, the fear because I didn't know what was happening and being too scared to sleep, Even the bizarre dreams that made no sense when it was happening, It stays with you.

I have dealt with contact dermatitis and atopic dermatitis ( types of eczema) my entire life. It's hard to articulate that contact dermatitis is my form of allergic reaction because people think it's contagious. It's not, my body just responds to touching items like latex and household chemicals about the same as someone whose body reacts by forming hives. I get welts, hives, and of course the peeling skin (scaly skin for others). It keeps me from being able to do certain chores like the dishes as well because my skin can bery easily crack and dry out more often, and if I ignore it for too long it only gets worse. This video reminds me that I'm not the only one who struggles with even everday things, even if it's different for everyone. 😊

I still finger-prick when I eat (to carb-count and such) but It definitely removes some of the stress from constantly pricking your finger to just swiping your phone across a patch on your arm. If you don't like (or get fed-up of pricking your fingers constantly) then I'd suggest looking into it.

god i cant EXPRESS how much i relate to being the sick kid growing up, i was pretty popular (as popular as a pre-school kid could be) until i was about 5 1/2. My WHOLE life flipped when i had some "bumps" / lymph nodes on my neck one night. My dad was checking on me before he went to bed as usual and noticed i had some bumps on my neck, and not even a second goes by when he grabs me, puts me in the car, wakes my mom and rushes to the ER, i had passed out by then seeing i was 5 and it was like 12 am LOL. Anyways, we get there and im still passed out, tired asf but i get numbed and they take my temp and it was 106 F. for anyone not american like me, that is 41.1 C. VERY dangerous and deadly tempature, they rush me into a surgery room, put an IV in my arm, numb me and before i know it, i wake up with a port (thing to pump fluids and help me stay alive for anyone who doesnt know) in me. And then i was diognosed with *LUEKEMIA CANCER* as any 5 year old child would do, i cried for my mom. And of course shes crying to but i live *(cough cough)* and past then, i was known as the sick kid, i gained weight due to meds, was only given attention because i was considered "the sick kid who could have died" and taken in and out the hospital for over a year, fast forward to when i was about 9, im considered cancer free! *(yip yip)* i ring a bell, yada' yada'; so on. I'm FINALLY free i think till i start going back to social vents (keep in mind i was homeschooled). I went to something called "cc" i dont honestly know what it was, it was a school but like 100x smaller with only friends and family where you would go overy week, no idea. Anyways when i started going there i had no friends, everyone thought i was contagious, etc. Until my cousin finally came up and asked to be friends with her friends so i say yes and then her friend, lets call her.. *Eliza*. Now Eliza wasnt very nice to me, she would get jealous because of how much me and my cousin bonded (even though we were cousins) she was also a year younger then us both (8) and a sassy, little, JERK. And.....
im sorry im just so bored of typing rn so 20 likes for part 2 🙏🙏😟😟

I was very lucky to not have any asthma attacks, but I had to, literally, hide my inhaler on my person, while in school, just in case I needed it, so I wouldn't have to go to the nurse every time I needed it.
I was, also, a very sick child, in elementary school. I don't know what happened, but, as soon as I started middle school, it was like my immune system woke up.
Asthma sucks and I'm very lucky that my need for an inhaler was limited to that and then a couple extra meds, when I was ill. Now, my asthma, luckily, only comes out, if I exercise too much/for too long or I'm sick.
