The benefits of being ugly:
Whenever someone cusses me out I ignore them and pretend like I didn't hear them so they have to walk up to me, tap my shoulder, and then yell and start saying stuff like "Hey, I'm talking to you!" or "Did you hear me? What are you, deaf?!" and I just look at them blankly and start using sign language and they automatically back off.

I kinda...don't talk when I get angry. I've had similar moments to this where I just go completely silent and do nothing but arch an eyebrow at them like "...really?" Somehow, that seems to infuriate them a thousand times more than any snappy remark I could come up with.
Generally, the only times I say anything when someone gets my hackles up, the people around me realise that 20 years of studying literature allows you to be *very* creative when expressing your anger.
To this date, the terms 'Psuedo-sentient dill pickle', 'cocknugget dipped in loganberry fucksauce' and 'stickyfingered twinkledick' are kind of memes within my social circle lol.
Love this! Gave me a good laugh, and made it to my notes for later use.

Now I might not be as eloquent or well versed in literature, but it takes a certain level of aptitude and competence in a language for people to actually understand the insults (or praise) told to them. My university is pretty diverse, but most people here probably would just stare with a blank face or ignore me if I said any of those phrases (or my usual stuff).
It's infuriating when you joke about someone or something but they don't understand, It breaks me a bit every time I try and fail, and now I just gave up on trying-- I just assume no one here will get it.

All my siblings and I were in the car with our dad when another car illegally pulled out when we had the right-of-way (this was also in Target parking lot btw). Some crazy teenage girl in the other car's passenger seat did the middle finger at my bewildered sister and her boyfriend or something that was driving started cussing out my dad. It was pretty awful as we literal kids.

I'm in the opposite situation, a city girl who moved to a small town. Dyed hair, piercings, and tattoos don't go over well with the busybody Stepford women who live around here. I once had a little girl exclaim at me in wonder at the grocery store because my (at the time) blue and pink striped hair reminded her of Twilight Sparkle and her mom actually yanked her away and told her not to talk to me because I was "unnatural" and would kidnap her. Luckily(?) I get comments all the time so I get plenty of practice at snappy comebacks.

Jackie M - it's weirdly opposite for me. I moved to a small town which is mostly elderly people and yet EVERYONE here has tattoos, piercings and rainbow hair. Like so much that it's not even cool anymore. I used to wish I had the nerve to dye my hair purple (my workplace had a policy against it). Now I have absolutely no desire to because it's so ridiculously common here. Every other girl on the street has the half-shaved head (with purple dyed hair) tattoos and a nose ring. There was a tiny little old lady at walmart today with a blue mohawk, not even joking.

Me and my mom were going to park in target, this lady was parked in the disabled parking spots, her lights werent even ON. We parked in the spot when a car drove out of the spot, and she got so mad, she started screaming at us that this was her spot, when we left to go to the store and came back, there was a HUGE scratch on the side of our car, cause of her, we called the cops but they couldn’t find her or figure out where she had gone :’(
