Of course you can't make uv light by water color! Because the wavelengths of the "color purple/blue" and "uv light" are different!

Lol a pigment doesn’t mean something works as an ultraviolet light. Just as infraRED light means “before red”, ultraviolet means “beyond violet”.
He DID mention that this doesn’t make a UV light though... it IS still just pure bullshit considering a white light filtered through pigments won’t change the frequency of the light itself, just block out some lower frequencies
This dude was mistaken, considering that if you get a fluorescent marker and shine any light on it, it’d still glow

I made one with my Galaxy S5 using clear tape instead LED glow of Scotch tape and it did make germs and lint glow. I also used adjustable torch, a root app.

@@Dynasty_ I must just have a shitty LED. Not all LEDs are perfect and output only the spectrum you want them to, it's the reason we put filters on some...
I bought 10 UV 395 nm LED diodes.
In fact you can't create real blacklight using the method like in this video because at max the only thing you would obtain is a purple light of wavelength 420 nm that may seem near to real UV 395 nm but it's nothing compared to it neither lower UV-A wavelengths like 365 nm.
The fake UV it's still a cool colour btw.
I just tried this using scotch tape on my iPhone 6 and it worked perfectly

I think it is possible to make a UV , because the smartphone UV can not filter all the other light so I think you need to use more Blue and purple

With the I phone there is a tiny amount of UV. But it is not really effective.
Another test you could have done. See if it supercharges a glow in he dark object

First of all, if you are going to compare something, it needs to be the same items. The original video used CLEAR tape, you used PHOTOCOPY tape (just because it is the same brand does NOT mean it is the same tape). Secondly, the original video didn't show anything up until they took a picture.
Again, you CANNOT compare if you don't do EXACTLY the same thing

The thing it actually does, Is supposed to be for blacklist paint, such as neon orange/green, Which makes the paint shine brighter, Because it is light, but the area around it darker, Because it is purple.
That is because neon colors react with the blue and purple coloring as it would with a blue or purple flashlight, which are completely different that UV light. UV light is in a differenr place on the spectrum and can not be made by putting colored tape on your phone LED.

There are two different types of tape. Invisible and transparent. One is clear the other is a cloudy white. Which tape did you use? To me it seems like you tested this using the cloudy white invisible tape.
